About two weeks ago. I wanted to try to draw a manga warrior so I got on UA-cam for some tutorials. I've been watching your videos ever since. I wish I could show you my progress.
I think this is where I get the eraser technique from--- when you draw rough drawings in Photoshop, it's common to turn the opacity of the rough layer down to like 20% (creating a ghost image) then you make another layer on top of it and add your black line. So the technique with the kneaded eraser does the same thing.
definitely. In high school, I only drew characters front view and ALL of my characters looked like that Da Vinci drawing of the guy with arms and legs out. It wasn't until college that I started to learn perspective in drawing. I could have learned earlier but there was no one to teach me.
Really great work man! Its awesome seeing you draw characters or something like that. Watching is make this drawing stuff so simply but its very hard to execute, for me its most times the proportions which i cant create correctly. But really great job man, more of this pls :)
My head canon for this picture is the guy punching is a Target employee who organized a strike and the guy getting punched is his twin brother who crossed the picket line.
You and Mark Crilley are my heros. Crilley's videos are clear and helpful, but I don't think I'm looking for quite his drawing style. His is more in-depth and harder than some drawing videos, such as yours. Yours are VERY simple, but it comes out looking great! THAT'S the way I want to draw. ;)
for me, I thought it would be easier to see the ink if I erased most of the pencil. If I were doing this for a manga, I might consider doing the rough in blue or colored pencil. Then I wouldn't erase that. I would just draw on top of the blue and like you did, erase afterwards. I'm still trying to find out what works best. I guess everyone has their own method :)
I like you. Most manga artist drive me insane with their one-stance drawing..ooof idk they don't draw their characters moving a lot. You do can't wait for your book. :)
I really like that yellow pen! Maybe you can tell me what it is and where it came from?Ohh excellent drawing, and gOOd teaching again..This is the 3rd video of yours I watched and you still amaze me with your teaching. If your not making money working for someone ,you need to work for yourself teaching art.Your very gOOd.
That's a really interesting technique (light sketch then erase). Makes sense. My drawings always end up messy due to my thick lines, trying to get the contours correct.
im 12 and i am trying to draw but i cant get it down like u can and i also like these vids because they acually show you how to draw insteadof just drawing it
Dear Koizu, can you do a how to draw sweat video sometime in the future? Like not chibi-styled sweat, but like, if someone just got finished fighting/ working out, etc.
I like your style! Greetings from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. P.S: I don't have the guts to erase ANY pencil originals.. wither to to ink or not! I make photocopies and other tricks. A light box is useful too.
I really love your videos, they are full of knowledge, so i would ask if you please could draw something fantasy kinda, i will really love to see something like that, and i now you could inspire me to keep on drawing and keep expand my skills.
I have some trouble for doing a pencil drawing of fire, do you have any tips to make it not look fake or if you could make a video on that that will be even greater.
The inking process is so satisfying can you make a video of inking process with relaxing music?? I hope you read this ive been you your fan for long time ☺☺ and i love you videos
hey i really love your art and was wondering if you could recommend some good collages for art that would help a manga artist in their career im still in highschool but i wanted to have an idea of some places that a great artist like yourself would recommend. i would appreciate it if you would reply and thank you for all of your videos :)
great video man! it's so amazing! you should create your own manga.... or maybe a classic comic as well... heehe... my problem in drawing a character in motion is that, i don't get the right proportion of the head and body... congrats man!.. keep it up!
Man that looks nice! Wish I can draw action scene like you. I'm getting there...though. You should've give the guy punching an expression it would've felt "stronger" :)
He has a how to draw proportions for both male and female from back in January. Not sure if that's defined enough or if you need more precise, but hopefully this helps. /watch?v=jkTcIUmz7uc&feature=relmfu (Female) /watch?v=liOwj5A2Fcg&list=UU0WfxkE12_UFucF6NU28A9A&index=18&feature=plcp (Male)
that was awesome and this isn't relevant to the subject but how do you set up your camera up cuz I'm gonna do a channel but i don't know how to set up my camera
that's the coolest thing I've seen in a long time, its amazing how skilled some people are, I guess we each have our own skillset, that's really cool. Do you draw logos for hire? I need a logo drawn for my brand.

I'm still working on it :) trying to get the story nailed down. Hope to do some updates on it and show you guys the progress.
