I think 3rd party antennas are not bad, but since the goggles 2 and the o3 air unit came out we can cleary say that dji has learned from their past mistakes, the stock antennas on the goggles 2 and on the o3 air unit are now more than just good they are really really good for stock!
They really are. DJI doesn't do things half ass. It's very hard to improve on their design but I give FlyFish a lot of respect for trying. FlyFish does have some great aftermarket antennas for the O3 in varying sizes. They also managed to make the end portion smaller which is nice.
Been curious about their antennas. Im pretty much stuck on my mjolnir pros for my V2 goggles. Everything else i run trueRC. They seem to he the most consistant and well made. Even if the performance is similar the quality is way better. Which is a big deal to me... i break lots of stuff. TrueRC holds up. But the multipath of the Mjolnirs has been a groundbreaking improvement at the bandos. All the reflection from the concrete. Awesome test. Thank you for being honest. I have no intentions of getting the new DJI goggles but i appreciate and enjoy seeing real world tests and honest opinions. Glad to see little dude hanging out. Mine are preteens and are too cool to hang out with nerdy dad. 😂

The stock DJI antenna is good but I really found when I upgrade to the fly fish antenna on my copter, that was when I noticed I big jump in performance, like a 10-15% jump

I just use the normal DJI goggles battery. I have 3 of them and they last me about 12-16 packs each. You can not buy stock antennas from DJI, they do not offer them for purchase. These are the closest direct replacement. I lost one of mine and went with these as a replacement. I preferred foldable antennas to be able to keep using the same carrying case I had for my goggles.

Seeing how DJI refuses to sell replacement stock antennas, these are the best direct replacement antennas currently on the market. You didn't do anything wrong with your testing, they perform pretty much identical to stock. Every other youtube video with these antennas show the same results (they are not a major upgrade and provide no additional performance over stock).

I think the problem is eveyone is chaning the the polarity of the headset n not the changing the the polarity of the quad u already have a db lose with missmatch antennas maybe try using the same for best results if not theres no point of using aftermarket antenna if you're mismatched on goggles n quad
The stock antenna is linear. Just like the Flip G2s. They are intended for use with the stock Air Unit antenna. There is no need to change anything on the quad.
Interesting! I've been looking around for something better than stock, looks like these aren't it. It'd be nice if there was a good patch that can fold like the original, but to the contour of the goggles for transport.
I feel like using your Target location right beside an electrical box may have scuffed the results as the interference will be intermittent and inconsistent. I may be wrong in that may have just been a cable internet telephone distribution box, unsure.
That's real world though. Creating the perfect conditions doesn't make sense. Subjecting both antennas to the same conditions is more important. Feel free to view my results for my first test in an open park away from electrical boxes. It's linked in the pinned comment of this video.
@@MurdersFPV in my usual flying spot (lots of tree), I fly around the same tree and obstables, with stock antenna it always drop to 17, 18 mb, I switch to flyfish, fly around the same area, it keep the signal at 27mb, no dropping at all.

Don't you think looking straight at the quad the goggles will use the internal patches as that signal if bound to be higher. Maybe the more objective test is to the side or behind yourself. I didn't notice if you were using the stock 03 antenna on the quad or not but I imagine you would want to as these are all linear. I'm willing to bet that DJI has invested more money into antenna design, testing, & test equipment then a small FPV company ever could as well.

I would like to see it in a less urban and more long range flying. That said, flyfish usually has problems with their V1's. The volador v1 is honestly a trash frame that they released and then few months later made an incompatible v2. Motors have had fast revisions too. I emailed them early on about the volador and their response was to "say sorry you have problems" with a $10 coupon to their shitty store. No interest in supporting them at all.
Not being compatible sucks but it is nice that they make quick revisions. It would be cool if such a product underwent such a quick revision that they would compensate those customers that purchased the first iteration. They have honestly been really great in communication and excepting my feedback. I leave for Hawaii on Sunday and I've got a pretty amazing 7.5" quad that I will be taking and doing some more LR centric flights.

And gets only a "thanks here's a coupon" in return, it tells a different story. I don't even want to give away the v1 volador frames I have, they are so bad.

Your whole drone is kinda waterproof even if you don't conformal coat. Moving quickly with the air passing over keeps water from pooling.

It is the original antenna but I cut the plastic tube portion to make it "stubby"

do you still use 1604 motors? i had to change to rcin 1506 and its game changer for hi throttle punches
I use the 1604 2850kv motors. Using those Rcinpower motors would put me over 250g
