The fact they included Sonic's original rabbit concept design as a complementary skin was such a genius idea

I have high hopes for this one. Frontiers seemed like a big step forward from Forces. Hopefully we're entering an era of a Sonic comeback.
2D Sonic is always guaranteed to be good. It's his 3D games that are straight up trash.

From the bottom of my heart, I sincerely hope that Sonic Superstars sells well: it has an uphill battle, given that it comes out the same week as Mario Wonder and Spider-Man 2

I'm a bit concerned about the Screen being a bit small for the Speed, but we'll see how those limits will turn out in practice!
Battle Mode looks like a fun side mode!
I assume they're going to make the field of view bigger or slow down the speed a bit just to accommodate.
If Sonic Mania was like Sonic’s version of New Super Mario Bros, being a new game in the style of the classics, this feels like Sonic’s version of New Super Mario Bros Wii, multiplayer and all

this game looks so damn good, probably gonna get it and mario wonder on release day
I'm curious to see how multiplayer translates into a Sonic game. Sonic is always about speed, so what happens if a player gets ahead or falls behind? It's a different beast than a Mario game, which has a more relaxed pace.
I think perhaps the players falling behind will be carried along as long as it isn't an automatic scroller level where they get crushed by the screen.

I find it hard to believe they nailed the multiplayer aspect considering how Tales was always out of screen in the classics and could only really help at boss fights.

Back in those days, screens were 4:3 and the system's resolution was very low. Nowadays, with wide screens and 1080p/4K, you can see further ahead and zoom out more, so it's probably much more enjoyable.

0:45 Build-A-Badnik. Also the first in-game reference to Metal Knuckles since Sonic R. (though if you consider the IDW comics canon, his last appearance was in Sonic the Hedgehog 30th Anniversary Special where he was working for Heavy King (who Tails Doll was also working for) at some point after the events of Sonic Mania Plus)
the idw comics are cannon as characters from that comic were mentioned in the latest mainline sonic game
