People are digging through the source files, it's almost a complete remake in Godot 3. Most of the models and textures are new, the only thing that got kept was the game logic backend. :3

It was the first thing I noticed, 4k is obvious but I was in doubt with it running in 60fps or less on Switch...well, I'm not anymore. Probably the usual 30fps

I'm honestly excited to come back to this game. I loved it back in the day, and while it is rather short, it's still one of the best 3-D Sonics; fun enough to warrant replaying all the stages to get max ranks atleast. On that note: the metal sonic mode looks fun and should add even more replayability.

It's incredible to me how people have made 30fps a dirty word, even though it's an industry standard to aim for 30fps, and achieve 60fps when possible. Anyone saying 30fps isn't acceptable needs to bring their standards down, because they're too high.

I never got to play sonic colors so i’m really excited for this to come out its pretty much a brand new game for me
congrats! It's by far the best original modern sonic game imo. Gameplay is fun and mostly consistent (the QOL improvements, like Tails, should bridge the bottomless gap), the OST is back to back club BANGERS, and the mood is more lighthearted saturday morning cartoon with a few legit laughs in there instead of weird edgy nonsense. You're gonna have a ball.

Sonic Colors Ultimate is actually going to be made using Unreal Engine 4
The American dev team behind this port converted the Wii version to UE4
This has many more improvements to the original, yet still costs less than Skyward Sword HD

I'm happy to see my favorite sonic game being remastered and Sega putting effort into sonic I can't say how happy I am to see this.
As a Sonic Colors fanboy, I recommend anyone that hasn't tried this game to play it, and use the original soundtrack. It's a fun experience, and the music is what makes this game so memorable for me.
The best theme of map in entire video games industry, Starlight Carnival no doubt.

0:13 They removed "60 FPS'' and "4K RESOLUTION" from the original trailer. If that doesn't confirm that the switch version runs at 30fps, then I don't what will.
I assume they took it out because "4K", and then didn't make the effort to keep 60 FPS in there. This game should very easily run at 60 FPS.

The processor is a bit better. On the website, some people saw the characteristics, and they are a little bit better. Enough to run a game at 30 fps without any drops, and to run a game on a tv screen in 1080p instead of 720.
The OLED is also better visually in terms of colours. Since theses are individual LEDs, they can turn on and off, making real black instead of a shade of grey. So it looks better. Not that much, but enough to see the difference

Both games either have little to no lighting or are completely awful to play. We deserve remakes that improve the presentation but dont sacrifice the original vision for the game
