  • This is a short front brakes DIY replacement. The video show all the necessary tools and torque specs, just read the subtitles. I am not a professional and you should consider having an authorised service doing this for you. Brakes are a safety component, keep that in mind. I take no responsibility, if you mess it up ;) This is simply a procedure, that worked for me. So, this video shows how I did my brakes. It went rather well and I´m very happy with the result. No squeaks, great braking power, no vibrations what so ever. I used Meyle components, an OEM German manufacturer.
    Take care everyone.

Hi, nice video with all the key important steps, torque values and also usefully the steps to rest the service lights. Thanks.
For the anti-rattle clip, it's easier to clip the centre tab into caliper first, then gently ease the springy fingers into place with a flat screwdriver. They can be a bit fiddly, but I'm sure that you managed the other side perfectly fine after learning from this side. Well done & thanks for sharing good helpful video. Cheers!

What a quality video. Only 14 comments in one year, that's not fair. Thumbs up.

@@DIYProjectX Hi buddy. I noticed you didn't connect pad wearing sensor. Doesn't that trigger any warnning? and did you open the brake fluid reservoir cap during the work?🤔

@@kyefang8278 Hi there. Well spotted. The wear sensor is only on one side and I was recording the one without the sensor. My bad. And yes, reservoir was opened.

    TYVM, super useful.
At which point in the video would you be swapping the sensor on front-left wheel?
For rear wheels, are the socket size and hex key size the same (caliper and bracket bolts)?

Thank you. When the new pads are in place. Not sure about rear end, haven't done that yet.

I know it’s at least a year late but I’ll comment so everyone else will see the pins use the same 7mm hex but the rear bolts are 17 mm

Do you have to open the brake fluid reservoir for when you’re pushing the piston into the caliper?

I do open it on other cars, but here it is buried under the cabin filter, so I left it closed and all went well.

Can you please tell me mm size front and rear pads?

    • @DIYProjectX
      @DIYProjectX  Рік тому

In my case, fronts are 155,3 x 68,5 mm and rears are 122 x 58 mm. Sorry for the delayed response.

You forgot the new sensor. Always use a new sensor when changing

Hello there. Of course I did change it. You can see the sensor 15 seconds into the video. However, I didn't film it. Sorry about that.

Do not apply grease on the slide pins… 😅
