      Can you help me?I just bought a 2004 bmw e60 525i.. no brakes spongy brake pedal.Im thinking master cylinder.... how do i check the abs pump?

    • @Envermustafoski
      @Envermustafoski 6 років тому

      solo1racing with the car off, pump the brakes 3 times or until the pedal is firm, then turn the car on with your foot still on the brake. The pedal should depress smoothly. If that's not the case, check your vacuum booster or master cylinder.

    Good instructional video. the only things i would do extra is to clean and lube the pins, and to clean & grease the caliper bracket especially where it makes contact with the pads. also good idea to put anti-freeze/copper grease on backs of pads. also be careful when rewinding piston that your brake fluid master cylinder does'nt overflow!

      Thank you for the feedback! Your remarks are correct. You are absolutely right, the pins should be cleaned and lubed. This video is considered to be an informative one, and it shows the sequence of repairs, so some stages of the repairs might have been excluded. Best regards, Autodoc.

    Do have to change the censor even if I don't have a warning? I'm changing them because of grooves which I suspect is the cause of my noise. The pads are otherwise pretty decent, but will obviously be changed.

    One "cheat" was found: the settings of the hand brake was just flashed but not explained. Do not forget to set it right according to service manual: tighten until you cannot turn the wheel and release the setting gear by 7-8 notch. Try it out on a slope carefully. That gear is a bitch to find and master with the screwdriver. Its position is about between 25-30 minutes in a time scale. Flat screw driver head is horizontal. Lever it up: tightening, lever it down releasing. Lucky if you see the teeth of the gear via the hole.

    Do you have to clear the warning symbol or is it automatically done when you fit a new sensor

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk  7 років тому +3
