Thanks and really appreciate that you pointed out not having to out the shim that goes into the piston.

The amount of frustration was entertaining but your dedication was admirable! I have an older FJs in my bay a couple times a week. And, like other big moments in life, I still remember my first time.

My pads on 2006 don't have a bracket to hold them. While rolling I hear a clicking noise knocking the caliper, kãep kãep, kãep. Less noise with new pads but still there. Should I have to change the caliper for that?

I would start by getting ANY missing parts. Once you have alll the parts then you can try and figure out what is wrong if anything. Parts can be gotten from here

Why we don't use 2 keep away springs in both pins? Also, I don't see those metal brackets on top of my pads. On the driver side my pads knocking the caliper while rolling even with the new pads. What should I do?

How often do you change/turn your rotors?

@@tmonie there is no set time for me. If they are warped then change. If i can feel a bit of a lip on top of rotor turn

@@maintainersgarage thank you. I used this video to change my pads and everyone kept telling me I had to change my rotors but honestly it brakes very smoothly so I think we're still good

@@tmonie rub your fingers across the both faces of rotor, if it feels smooth, not wavy or bumpy, you are good

Hmm, I thought one should put all shims on the pad first and then install the pad the caliper?
