I was terrified of cutting people. So I decided to do Russian manicure style instead. I get the job done without cutting and tearing up the natural nail.
My thing was forcing myself to do only what I saw other pros doing instead of what worked for me. Thinking there was only way to do it right and do it well. My advice to my novice self: try other methods. See what works for you. Fail a few times. Reach perfection in its time.

Awesome video!! ❤❤ Quick question: when your filing the cuticle area after application, I've found I can actually file the area too much and suddenly I'm seeing little lifting spots and if I'm not careful I'll end up chasing it down the nail with the file. I swear in some nail videos it looks like the tech is filing the shat out of the cuticle to get it flush and it doesnt happen to them. What am I doing wrong here? Am I holding my file wrong or am I just simply over filing?

    • @ninja78pro

It could be because you are adding too much product at the cuticle which will cause lifting and that adds to the more filling=lifting problem.

These were all the things I was struggling with!! I was 5 classes away from grad before COVID19 shut down my school, my teacher was laid off so I have no more help and plenty of time to practice. Step 5 really hit home for me. Thank you so much. Going to binge watch all these videos now haha.

Number 4 is my nemesis, I'm forever filing in notches. Thanks Tracey, now I know how to prevent it from happening again.

i have the wrong bit and it will cut the client waiting for enough money for the proper bit......I am so thankful for all the utube videos I learned more here then from my trainer she didnt teach me the full out line of her coarse due to the fact me and her had a bit of an argument as she would say one thing then she says no u r doing it worn u have to do it this way and she was messing me and made it hard for me to figure out the way she wanted me to do it....so i got through the coarse and started learning from YN and a bunch of other videos...now I am not a acrylic girl i am a gel girl its basically the same in a sense...I love watching u guys videos and apply it to my every day business life....so thank you for all u have taught me and i hope to learn more...

Omg, I've been cut so many times by chop-shop nail techs, is seasoning the files something they teach in school ?? Seems like a game changer to me, but I've never seen anyone else mention it! Amazing video 😄👍

You should always season your files they have sharp edges new! Even your e file bits, sooo much safer!
