Welcome to Firearms of America! Today, I have another Glock review for you guys and this is Glock 48 review, but not just any regular Glock 48! No, this one is Glock 48 with Shield Arms magazines and maaaan, these are a game changer!
Alien Gear Cloak Mag Carrier Bucket - alnk.to/9IaBD3y
Let's start with this Glock 48 MOS specs:
Caliber: 9x19mm
Weight (without magazine): 524 g | 18.48 oz
Mag. Capacity: Standard: 10
Barrel Length: 106 mm | 4.17 inch
Length (Overall): 185 mm | 7.28 inch
Trigger Pull: 24 N
Overall, you get from this Glock pistol exactly what you expect from a Glock. Easy operation, basic design, reliable performance. This particular one is the subcompact Glock 9mm and considering the magazine capacity, this Glock handgun is a great option for CCW. Is this the best Glock to carry? Well, that comes down to your personal preference. A lot of Glock fans think that the Glock 19 is the best 9mm Glock... because of the mag capacity. Glock G48 is only 10 rounds, but it is much easier to conceal.
Doing this Glock G48 review was pretty easy for me because I have already reviewed so many Glocks in the past from different generations.
So, what do you guys think about this Glock 48 MOS review? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for watching! God bless!

I have a 48 and 48 MOS, both with the shield arms steel mag release, and 4 shield arms mags and have had no issues. And I don't always clean my guns after shooting them. UPDATE - The Shield arms mags are not reliable. I have started having issues. It is a spring issue that shield arms refuses to address. If you keep the mags loaded the spring lose memory and cause issues; failures to feed and slide not locking back.
Do you have the shield gen 1 mags??
I have the 48 and changed out for the Shield mag release and two 15-round mags. Only had issues. There were failure to feeds. Sent the mags back to Shield. They report the gun must always be squeaky clean to be reliable. Also, never insert the standard Glock mags in with the Shield metal mag release - they jam up the gun and will not come out. In short, reliable 11 rounds is better than unreliable. So, I switched it back to stock - it runs 100% now. Would not recommend Shield for a carry gun.
Good to know!
I'm thinking Shield Arms is providing poor customer service and doesn't want to spend the money to fix the problem. It sounds like the mag spring was bad to me. I'd call them back and let them know that a Glock does not have to be squeaky clean to be reliable, which is one of the reasons Glock is so popular, and tell them to send you a new mag spring to see if that fixes the problem.
Yah I am glad I didn't follow the aftermarket SA15 mag wave.
Never followed any aftermarket anything wave.
Glock purrrfektion!
Thanks for the video. Seemed uneasy about shield arms mags. Now reading about someone having trouble with them
You are very welcome! I know, I've seen comments from people having issues. Personally, I've put about 500 rounds through my Shield Arms mags, both gen 2 and gen 3, and have not had any issues. As per Shield Arms, supposedly they have addressed the issue that some people were having with gen 2 mags in their gen 3. Its nice to have extra 5 rounds, but there's always an option for a sidecar holster with an extra mag!
I have a 43x and have been carrying S15 mags since they were released. I've never had a single issue. I keep seeing people talk about the reliability of the s15. Glad I never experienced any of that. Not 1 single malfunction
gen 1 mags?
Eagerly awaiting Palmetto State Armory's new magazine for the 48/43x. Too many horror stories with the SA mags for me.
Have they released yet?
@@iiwarlordii4858 Nope
@@jth_printed_designs any idea on when they will?
@@iiwarlordii4858 they haven’t announced a release date
I have the PSA micro dagger magazines (16 of them) for my 43x’s and my 48 and have over 1200 rounds through them with no issues or malfunctions.
Great video.. really liking my 48 mos 👍🏻
Thank you for watching!
Another good review, but a word about Shield Mags. Long story short, I had 3 of them and I had failure to feed with them all. It was VERY frustrating. I have reverted my gun back to stock mags and mag release. Evidently they work well in some guns but not others. Shield Arms did take care of me on the return and honored their guarantee.
Loving my glock 48 MOS dont mind carrrying 10+1
PSA Micro Dagger 15rd magazines are also good option - no magazine release change required - polymer-to-polymer. 👍
I love this guy
I got dibs already 😂
Solid review. Thank you
Thank you for watching!
I a have the Aztec 48 shield arm 15 mag 3 stock mag's with xs night sights hoge gripe love it man...I got my 19 x for serious stuff....
Love it I came to find out the xs sights I had too practice a Lil their different..but ounce I got 50 rounds man I love em for self defense 25 yards and closer I've got very good with the xs sights now..got gost trigger upgrade it's on point
Nice video. Love the content and passion.
Be great with a Falco Shoulder or inside the pants holster! 48 is a solid gun
I had shield arms mags for my 43x and they were completely unreliable with my HP's (critical defenses) with a few FTF with ball ammo. A waste of money IMO. Went back to stock mags and then eventually sold the 43x and went back to my 26
PSA Micro Dagger 15rd magazines are also good option - no magazine release change required - polymer-to-polymer. 👍
Or consider talon grips or handleitgrips or goon tape what i like is goon tape with a couple peices of skateboard tape a little peice on back and front not wrapping it on carry side its great . Remember to heat your grips to make them stick great will last a long time and cheap
Do you have problems with the right mounting screw messing with the extractor?
Shield Arms mags never failed me. But i only have 3000 rounds through my 48. Some people must get some bad ones i guess? 10 smags and love them!
Yea, same here, still carrying my G48 with Shield Arms mags, shot through both gen 2 and gen 3 SA mags and not a single problem.
I'm stuck between this an a Sig X macro. How's the recoil compare?
Definitely a tough choice! Sig Macro is an excellent option as well. Personally, I am Glock fan, so I went with a Glock. I am more used to Glock sights and the trigger. The recoil is practically identical. If you don't want to spend extra money on the Shield Arms mags, are ok with built in compensator and prefer Sig ergonomics over Glock, then go with the Sig.
I have the 48 moa and the Macro. Go with the macro. Comfort in the hand, capacity and much better trigger with Sig. Also don’t need a mounting plate for Holosun optics.
Love Speer Gold Dot ammo. I carry them in my EDC Canik Elite Combat. I’m wanting to get my first Glock. But since I already have a great 9mm (my Canik) I think I may want a .40 S&W Glock 22.
Ayyeee, I carry Speed Gold too! Quality stuff!
@@FirearmsofAmerica Yessir! Very consistent performance.
That camera focuses so fast…..what is it?
I don't know about it being what everybody wanted. Many of us already have a 19 with 15 round capacity that can actually be expected to function, unlike the Shield Arms mags.
i had problems with then in my 43x
Thanks~
Thank you for watching!
Shit i use strobe and than i put techno on makes me shoot better and fast
Ah yes, the Toyota of guns.
From what I’ve seen, the gen 1 shield mags are garbage.. but the gen2’s are good to go!!
I love having a flesh light on my Glock!!😅
My agency (10,000 sworn) tested Shield arms magazines more than any individual could possibly afford to do themselves. In conclusion, the shield arms magazines are LESS reliable than Glock OEM magazines. For the 48/43x pistols, 10 rounds plus a spare mag or two is well more than enough. If a regular civilian can’t get out of a situation with 10+1 and a spare mag or two in the pocket, then that person needs to consider moving out of “Detroit” or an El Salvadoran prison.
Second, I love what Ken Hackathorn says about RMR type sights…. If you suck at shooting, an RMR isn’t going to help you. They are a fad these days for most people. Also, most people don’t train enough with an RMR to be good with it anyway. They will shoot a box or two of FMJ’s with an RMR (or iron/plastic sights for that matter) and call themselves “good.” Total fail. An RMR mostly acts as bulk to a gun they already have difficulty concealing on themselves.
The MOS…. “M”ostly “O”ver rated “S”ights.
Red dot on a pistol is the future, Ken is a dinosaur in that regard.
@@Birdfeeder795 The future for LE or military, but not the average civilian. Then again, even for LE or military, they don’t work for siht if they get wet, like in rain. Good luck finding the red dot when the glass is wet or fogged up.
A red dot is just different... you cannot call it a fad it is no different than rifles optics people rock irons red dots holos and lpvos it’s all preference however I cannot understand how people carry a red dot with no co witness iron back ups
No need for an optic on a small handgun, a full size pistol yes tho maybe.
Fudd logic
👍😎
The guy from fps Russia
if u need more than 10-20 rounds then u need a rifle.
I’ll just stick to 11 rounds. Shield arms mags are far too unreliable.
I have both gen 2 and gen 3 SA mags, haven't had any issues with either.
Second coming of FPS Russia?
This time with real accent.
The G48 is such a strange gun, in my opinion. It's like Glock took the worst parts from two different guns and created the 48
It’s the G19 on a diet lol
@darrylmuse9948
Or the 43x on steroids depending on how you look at it.
@@robertwilliams5015 2 of my friends have the 43 X I shot it to snappy for me compared to my G19 .Plus with the 48 and longer barrel hollows will operate better plus the longer sight radius that’s why I’m going with the 48 I appendix my 19 so the 48 won’t be a problem
@@darrylmuse9948 I have carried the 43x for a couple of years and bought the 48 MOS recently because I LOVE the 43x but the shorter barrel was one of my chief complaints. I’m dabbling in red dots but have always been a fan of reliable irons. I like the MOS light rail as well.
@@Miles-yl7cg I have night sights on my 19 that I shoot well gonna go to a eps carry and light on my 48 Mos when I pick one up
Narrative needs steel sights
For sure, got the steel on my G17.
MC2C is just better. Period.
BTW Magtech MAKES THE WORST 380 ACP ammo!!! THE ABSOLUTE WORST!!!!
God bless you sir. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ.
God bless you brother! Praise the Lord Jesus Christ!
Repent and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved. Seek Jesus with everything you have while you can. You never know when you will breath your last breath. This life is temporary. Eternity is forever. You don’t want to find out too late that you weren’t right with God.
Read your Bible
Mags are junk! Would never bet my life on them.
Why? Haven't had any problems myself and haven't heard anyone complaining yet.
Russian guy
wrong
I would not mind having a Glock 48, BUT, only a fool would buy a weapon without a manual safety. you never know when an opponent would get their hands on your weapon. With a Glock all they have to do is squeeze the trigger. A manual safety gives you time to bring a second weapon into play. Glock may be very popular with the wannabe crowd, but anyone who has not the presence of mind to operate a safety shouldn't be handling firearms anyway.
Totally moronic and clueless comment on manual safety.
@@cjg8803 Clueless? Have you ever been in a gunfight? I have. And I'm still here and 70 yrs old. Give me a 1911 with its safeties any day. Although I always deactivated the grip safety with electrical tape. I realize that the majority of people who have guns these days get their knowledge and experience of firearms from video games and movies, but they can always learn properly if they try.
@@Snuffy03 Just so you know, Glock presented their firearms to police departments across the nation in the beginning due to officers dying in the hands of criminals due to...🥁officers forgetting to turn off the manual safety in stressful situations. Glock's internal safeties have been proven to work flawlessly since its development in the 80's. I'm not shitting on you or your iconic 1911 but I will request that you don't shit on our police for going with Glock. Don't they get enough of that from the media and politicians alike?
@@nitrorunner33 I apologize if it seemed I was denigrating police. They do get enough of that. My issue has always been with training. Once an opponent has your weapon, chances are they have no training with safeties either. All they have to do is squeeze a trigger and it's done. I'm sure the safeties on Glocks work as advertised. As a long time user of the 1911 I have trained with it so that the safety is a second nature. Training with any firearm should be intense. I don't say the 1911 is perfect. But it is close. I deactivate the grip safety with a bit of electrical tape, but then John Browning did not feel the grip safety was necessary. That was the Army's idea.
@@Snuffy03 Sir, I too must apologize for misunderstanding your original point...now I get where you're coming from. With that said, I personally conceal carry a 43X which is my 1st ever firearm at the age of 43(yes I know very late in the 2nd Amendment exercising but better late than never right). I find it easier to carry it with me appendix style which reduces(not 100% eliminates I admit) the chances of any perp grabbing hold of my pistol. My personal opinion(not fact) is the 1911 may be a bit complex for a 1st time gun owner like myself. Again, I have a hell of a lot to learn about firearms in general besides the 4-5 basics of firearm safety. Speaking of which, the safety of myself and my family is my motivation for learning as much as humanly possible about different types of firearms. To face the facts, support for the police has dropped over the past few years, while agencies like ATF have continued to violate rights of the law abiding and ignored young gang members displaying their Glocks with switches online! The times we're living in are insane 😳...anyhow God bless you and your family...stay safe out here!
Not going to lie. Shield arms are garbage magazines
Haven't had any problems with them yet, why you say garbage?
