The P365 ships with an extended mag just like the Shield. So lots of people are using an extend mag. I agree the 48/43x is no engineering marvel, but Sig's marvel didn't work. I understand that the internet commandos all think that it is dumb, but I disagree. It is the first of its kinda and a welcome change. 1/16 of an inch in thickness reduction does more to conceal a gun than 3/8" in grip reduction. I don't think that most understand this. That is why things like snap loops are still popular, but for those whose lives count on keeping the gun hidden while simultaneously needed to deploy it under pressure, fractions of inches in width reduction make a difference. The 48 offers the concealment of a 43/365 and the shoot ability of a 19. My tactics and skills drive my equipment selection not youtube celebrities. Off course this all my opinion based on my experience. I expect your experience is quite different, thus we come to different conclusions. And none of it really matters to anyone else. 👍😉🇺🇸
@@tenicorusa We don't disagree on everything. I agree with your point of firearm thickness being a giveaway (mustn't forget thinness equaling comfort) but a longer magazine area is very important as well, which is why the Sig is shaped the way it is in the rear portion of the grip, even on the 12 round magazine. Also the reason for holsters that include "the claw", which is designed to keep that portion of the firearm against a persons body. Again, Sig has ironed out the bumps of a brand new innovative introduction. As far as reliability? No doubt it was rough out of the gate but the P365 is something that sets a new standard and while I personally didn't like the way it was traversed... we'll never know the true numbers of folks who had issues. It wasn't only the internet commandoes that had issues as there were many on blog's also but I think things got blown out of proportion due to some wanting it to fail because it's not their favorite. I'd like all manufacturer's to due well which allows various options for all. As a firearm community I don't by into the bickerings when someone's life could be on the line. Personally, our family (not household) has 4 P365's with over 2k rounds each and haven't had a single malfunction. I know the Glock will perform and sell well. As I mentioned before I'll likely be picking up a 43x when Glock hopefully offers them in black. As for the Hickock45 statement, I'm certain he'll be owning one, if not both of the new Glock's. I just found it funny and good timing that they did buy P365's for Christmas. Thanks for the amiable conversation. Cheers and good luck moving forward.
1 jam out of a thousand rounds with a fire arm right out of the box? That sounds like a reliable gun to me . Very glad that i purchased mine and watching this video just reassured me that i made the right choice . For home defense and my everyday carry! Thx for the video
Matt A It fits and feels great. I have one without the claw. The G48 fits great and it’s nice and snug. I’d recommend Vedder if you’re thinking about one.
Copium. Autoloaders jam. Small autoloaders jam often. Jams get good guys killed in cqb. I've never once had to make an excuse for my revolver jamming ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Face it. 99.9% of the time, both of us will only fire 2-5 shots in a self defense situation. We'll both end the fight with shots left to spare but only you will enter the fight with a massive chance of catastrophic failure. 😂
Great video. For a long time I've thought a slim grip Glock 19 would be a great pistol. The G48 fills that role well. I bought one yesterday afternoon and shot it briefly last evening. It was completely reliable with 68 rds of JHP and FMJ ammo. I thought the recoil was nice and not snappy. The trigger pull is good. Ammo can cause a malfunction. I really like the G48. I carry a G43 for deeper concealment.
Glock 48 is now one of my favorite guns especially after adding Talon sandpaper grips. The grips make a huge difference with the extra recoil. I have about 600 rounds with ZERO MALFUNCTIONS. Added the Shield 15 round mags too. Way more comfortable to carry concealed. Try it and see what you think..
I have and like a 19. I recently bought a 26. I'm learning to like it, shoot it twice a week x150 rounds per session. I now want the glock 48. I must be insane as I am not rich.
I feel confident carrying the 19. I am a good shot and feel I would have better than even chance of surviving a gunfight against bad men with it. Not so with the G26. Sigh. I suppose I will have to get the G48 after watching this.
Great gun but with the single stack grip the trigger ate my trigger finger up. Couldn't even get through a 10 round clip without stopping because the pain was so great. It was either a Bad trigger which felt heavy and more narrow than on my double stack Glocks, or my trigger finger is a whimp. Traded it for a Ruger carbine, finger is much happier now.
Yes, the 19 and 17 can malfunction due to limp wrist because the are semi automatic guns. Any semi auto gun can because the slide has to completely cycle in order to eject the round properly. Unlike a revolver, because the cylinder is what is responsible for cycling the gun instead of a slide. So yes any semi auto can malfunction from limp wrist. Some are more forgiving than others. A high and tight grip stops this from happening.
West coast armory north is my local range i know everyone that works there love it there, just bought one looking forward to finally getting it in my hands
I dont like the empty hole on the bottom of barrell. Is there another recoil spring assembly you can use or an add on to fill the space? Please anyone??
I just purchased a glock 48 after after comparing it to the 43 side-by-side with a magazine in each. With the pinky extender on the 43 versus the flat base magazine of the 48 there was no difference in length of the grip but you do get 4 extra more rounds with a longer sight plane.
Nice review , thank you . I have seen a lot of review about that gun , and nobody speaks about the mount of a red dot on this gun ? Is it possible , no MOS yet ?????
I have gotten use to Glock’s bulky grip. However, I still prefer it to be slimmer. The grip on g48 is perfect. I agree that they should have made this gun a long time ago. That is their genius marketing strategy. Had they made it earlier. I never would have bought many of my other Glocks. This time, I will wait if Glock will make a version with a black slide with a light/ laser rail mount.
There are many factors that can contribute to a stoppage, improper shooting platform could be part of the problem, but if you look at the ejection pattern of the case prior to the FTF, it is more likely due to an undercharged load on the previous round which caused a very unusual ejection pattern and the slide from not fully cycling. @@jeffd5310
Something that is not talked about much in regards to these small, slim profile handguns is that they are less forgiving to a less than optimal grip. Some of this is due to the recoil spring many of this class of handgun needs for mitigating recoil. It's not a ding on the specific shooter but something to consider when carrying a particular weapon. Know your weapon.
True, the ammo was 115 grain ball range ammo. The guns are designed around heavier 124 and 147 grain ammo. All in all 1 malfunction in 1000 rounds in 60 minutes is pretty good for a little gun!
Did all of the dirt from around the muzzle clean off or did it stain in the slide? Just a thought, they have the 19 X and the 43 X for "extra rounds" so why not name it the 19 S (slim) instead of the 48?
I haven't cleaned the gun. I suspect it will be difficult to clean. People that shoot a lot don't like silver guns for many reasons ;-) I think the X is for crossover and not extra rounds. As in the 43X is a crossover of the 43 and 48. Glock can name it whatever they like.
@@tenicorusa or maybe extended? as in a 43 eXtended? either in grip or grip and slide as is the case of the 48? Think about the 19X... The eXtended grip.

Tenicor do you know which ammo was being fired at the time of the malfunction? Just curious, I’ve been curious about how the 43 sized spring on a larger/longer slide would perform and how it’s life span be affected, not saying it had anything to do with the malfunction but can’t help but wonder o_o
I've shot a lot of my dads and other family members guns or rented them wen't and bought my first gun yesterday both the 48 and 43x felt great got the 48 because the slide is a little longer but with borderline smedium hands it felt really good especially with some dry firing trigger is a little heavy but I wrestled in college i have some heavy hands couple of rounds and i'll get used to it no problem.
I've been saying it for years man it's all about that overall girth lmao on a serious note I recently bought a 48 and it fits better in the hand and shoots just as well as the 19 in my opinion and for an EDC, as a civilian looking for self defense outside the home, if I can't get it done in 10 rounds I should spend more time in the range

I use Amsoil 10w-30 motor oil mixed with atf-4 transmission fluid and Lucus full synthetic oil stabilizer. 1 cup motor oil, 2 tbsp trans fluid and 1 tbsp stabilizer. The trans fluid is an excellent rust inhibitor and the stabilizer absorbs heat while the PEA additive in the Amsoil protects from harsh primers and powder deposits. As a chemical engineer, I've found most "gun" oils to be nothing more than mineral oil with a few paraben based waxes. I wanted real protection at half the cost. I also use Supertech brake cleaner , "Chlorine free" to clean my guns. The aerosol gun scrubbers are nothing more than relabelled brake parts cleaner at 8 times the price.
@@tenicorusa good holster does help but no one can tell me this longer slimmer grip on the 10 round 48 is easier to conceal than the shorter thicker 10 round 26.
The manual literally says that, in order to ensure reliability, the pistol should be cleaned and lubricated before the first time it is fired. Also, it appears that you have a guy with a camera standing forward of the firing line - yikes!
Not at this time. The G43X is not particularly interesting to us as the added length of the 48 is not thing but a positive when the gun is worn inside the waistband.
Just because its a Glock doesnt mean it will never have a malfunction. It means that it will have far less malfunctions than a similar more complex gun. Also you cant even judge it fairly since it hasnt even seen a break in period. Its a brand new gun. 1 malfunction in 1000 rounds on a brand new gun is way better than you will see in almost any other gun.
Agreed. I dont ever consider any of my guns “broken in” until after 3k rounds. At that point I can tell that the slide and trigger have bothe smoothed out considerably. Thats when I consider my gun ready to go.
Internally it's not a new design. It's functionally a G43, all the parts are interchangeable everything is the same. All they did was change the grip portion of the frame, new magazine and mag catch/release with a extended slide and barrel. You're just parroting Sig P365 crap you probably don't even know what "striker drag" is.
I have never done an identical test with a G19. However, I have fired 10s of thousands of rounds through a G19 the number of malfunctions I have experience is very small. Even smaller if the issues specific to ammo are eliminated. The G17/G19 are the gold standard of reliability and have 100s of millions of rounds through the platforms with very little problems.
We don't know the answer to that as the 48 is new. But a 19/17 is the gold standard of reliability and it is the starting point for anything. @@genxer711

I've just purchased a Glock 48 and I'm due to pick it up this Week sometime
I've not owned a Glock in about 6 years
1 jam out of a thousand rounds with a fire arm right out of the box? That sounds like a reliable gun to me . Very glad that i purchased mine and watching this video just reassured me that i made the right choice . For home defense and my everyday carry! Thx for the video
I just picked up one of these (black slide) today.
I haven't fired it yet and I just ordered a IWB holster from Vedder Holsters.
Nice!!!
Me too brother. Was on the fence about the 48 but due to shortages I was forced into it, but I’m actually excited about it feel like I lucked out
@@booAHHHH I took my license to carry test with this gun and it was a piece of cake to fire.
I got a g48 as well. How’s the vedder holster? I was looking at buying one with a claw for appendix carry
Matt A It fits and feels great. I have one without the claw.
The G48 fits great and it’s nice and snug. I’d recommend Vedder if you’re thinking about one.
Glock 48, by far my favorite Glock and my EDC
Love my 48
Really forgiving with slightly longer barrel and still plenty slim enough for CCW
waiting for mine to come in. Excited to test it out my self. Thanks for the video.
Nice!
The failure to feed was definitely due to limp wristing. Not the gun's fault.
Agreed. You can tell by how the rifling was torquing the pistol and his wrist counterclockwise.
Copium.
Autoloaders jam. Small autoloaders jam often. Jams get good guys killed in cqb.
I've never once had to make an excuse for my revolver jamming ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Face it. 99.9% of the time, both of us will only fire 2-5 shots in a self defense situation. We'll both end the fight with shots left to spare but only you will enter the fight with a massive chance of catastrophic failure. 😂
Limp wristing yeah that's it
Will glock 17 and 19 get malfunction cause of limp wrist?
@@dushanstankovikj limp wristing is about 95 percent myth
Great video. For a long time I've thought a slim grip Glock 19 would be a great pistol. The G48 fills that role well. I bought one yesterday afternoon and shot it briefly last evening. It was completely reliable with 68 rds of JHP and FMJ ammo. I thought the recoil was nice and not snappy. The trigger pull is good. Ammo can cause a malfunction. I really like the G48. I carry a G43 for deeper concealment.
I’m picking this one up Wednesday, felt it in my hands at a gun show and man I was sold
Just got it.
Cross eye dominant or does he just like challenging himself?
If you're going to shoot with one eye closed, why does dominance matter lol!
To the dual recoil spring magically reduces recoil, i first noticed that feature on the gen 4 and my G35 gen 4 has way less recoil than the gen 3
Just picked up the Glock 48 paid $400 came with four magazines never been fired
Thanks for the video. Helped me make the decision to purchase mine.
Excellent! thanks for letting us know.
I have and like a 19. I recently bought a 26. I'm learning to like it, shoot it twice a week x150 rounds per session. I now want the glock 48. I must be insane as I am not rich.
Its a sickness! The 43X and 48 are nice. Better shooting and easier to conceal than a G26.
It was either a
Bad trigger which felt heavy and more narrow than on my double stack Glocks, or my trigger finger is a whimp. Traded it for a Ruger carbine, finger is much happier now.
Great video guys. I’d have to say limp wrist was the cause of that one malfunction. Great video.
Will glock 17 and 19 jam because of limp wrist?
Yes, the 19 and 17 can malfunction due to limp wrist because the are semi automatic guns. Any semi auto gun can because the slide has to completely cycle in order to eject the round properly. Unlike a revolver, because the cylinder is what is responsible for cycling the gun instead of a slide. So yes any semi auto can malfunction from limp wrist. Some are more forgiving than others. A high and tight grip stops this from happening.

Most Agreeable, Glock should have made this model years ago, I have numerous manufacturers and this model is one of my top EDC, great vid!!
West coast armory north is my local range i know everyone that works there love it there, just bought one looking forward to finally getting it in my hands
I dont like the empty hole on the bottom of barrell. Is there another recoil spring assembly you can use or an add on to fill the space? Please anyone??
I like the silver slide. Nice to see Glock try something different.
Agreed ! Ammo can cause malfunction
I just purchased a glock 48 after after comparing it to the 43 side-by-side with a magazine in each. With the pinky extender on the 43 versus the flat base magazine of the 48 there was no difference in length of the grip but you do get 4 extra more rounds with a longer sight plane.
Agreed. I think that is a good choice. You can also upgrade to the Shield mags and get to 15 rounds in a flush fit magazine.
@@tenicorusa I'm in CT where we can only have 10 rounds anyway. So the extra size of say a G19 is pointless.
Nice review , thank you . I have seen a lot of review about that gun , and nobody speaks about the mount of a red dot on this gun ?
Is it possible , no MOS yet ?????
For sure, you'd just have to get it milled. Grey Ghost Precision makes slides for it with the Shield sight
Ok thank you for your answer
Where can I find a holster for the g48 I just bought one but nobody has holsters
Thanks what we do! Tenicor.com We have you covered on the 48! OWB, IWB, AIWB.
Glock 43 holster works
I would like to see slide release on both sides of frame.
Bent elbow one handed shooting equals jam. One handed shooting lock out elbow
Thanks for doing this. Much appreciated.
👍
My buddy had a Springfield that went around 1599 rounds before it started to jam.
I have gotten use to Glock’s bulky grip. However, I still prefer it to be slimmer. The grip on g48 is perfect. I agree that they should have made this gun a long time ago. That is their genius marketing strategy. Had they made it earlier. I never would have bought many of my other Glocks. This time, I will wait if Glock will make a version with a black slide with a light/ laser rail mount.
... and they did ... lol
West Coast Armory North is mighty close to me. These fellas are local. Cool deal

@@tenicorusa what type of ammo happened with the malfunction?
J L Remington umc 115gr fmj
@Pagansdad definite limp wrist...Glocks don't need break in
There are many factors that can contribute to a stoppage, improper shooting platform could be part of the problem, but if you look at the ejection pattern of the case prior to the FTF, it is more likely due to an undercharged load on the previous round which caused a very unusual ejection pattern and the slide from not fully cycling. @@jeffd5310
Post election 2020 tests will read; 1 round test of Glock 48...
Did I just witness right hand left eye?? Great gun LOVE ALL GLOCKS!!
Indeed you did.
Just a thought, they have the 19 X and the 43 X for "extra rounds" so why not name it the 19 S (slim) instead of the 48?
hellhound713, nope. If that were the case, they would have named the 43 the 26 S.
It could be, however the Glock website says this for the 19X "GLOCK's first ever "Crossover" pistol, the GLOCK 19X, combines the best features of two of its most popular and most trusted field-tested platforms." The 43X listing does not speak to this or to an "eXtended" or "eXtra rounds" either. @@ralphedwards5849
I wonder if the 43x can share the 48 barrel on it's slide like most other Glocks can do.

Does ray shoot right handed with his left eye? Just curious cause i do the same because im right handed and blind in my right eye and handguns are the onlything i cant get down left handed really well

Yes. His left eye is dominate so he shoots out of that eye. Not common but it happens from time to time. Thanks.
I got one last year and i bought frangible ammo which spalled the barrel making a squib and i was rapid fireing do the shot after it bulged the barrel do much it wouldn't cycle. Glock wouldn't warranty it the place I bought it from replaced it after, hammering them for selling me the ammo that caused it. The G48 had a thinner barrel than any other 9 mm Glock

Tenicor do you know which ammo was being fired at the time of the malfunction?
Just curious, I’ve been curious about how the 43 sized spring on a larger/longer slide would perform and how it’s life span be affected, not saying it had anything to do with the malfunction but can’t help but wonder o_o
It was Remington UMC 115 grain FMJ. It is likely that the ammo was significant contributing factor.
@@tenicorusa anything with remington in the name is definitely the contributing factor lol

Alexis Garcia I know I’m late but limp wrist absorbed the recoil, pistols rely on recoil to chamber next round.
thats what she said
I've been saying it for years man it's all about that overall girth lmao on a serious note I recently bought a 48 and it fits better in the hand and shoots just as well as the 19 in my opinion and for an EDC, as a civilian looking for self defense outside the home, if I can't get it done in 10 rounds I should spend more time in the range
That malfunction could very well be the cause of the casing of that particular round.

Because the 19 is bigger and harder to hide.

Tim Smith thanks for asking. Our Velo AIWB, Certum iwb, and ARX owb holster are all used in the video. Check them out at Tenicor.com. 👍
@@tenicorusa thanks!
The G48 is in my mind as close to the perfect pistol as I've ever owned. Especially with shield arms 15rd mags.
Tenicor, what oil/ lube/ CLP do you recommend and trust?
Slip2000 EWL is what I have used the longest. But I don't think it really matters too much.
Lucas Oil
Grip length is the hardest thing to conceal not thickness.
Not if you have the right holster. 😉
@@tenicorusa good holster does help but no one can tell me this longer slimmer grip on the 10 round 48 is easier to conceal than the shorter thicker 10 round 26.

I need a slim .357Sig/.40 Glock in the size of the 48.
The manual literally says that, in order to ensure reliability, the pistol should be cleaned and lubricated before the first time it is fired. Also, it appears that you have a guy with a camera standing forward of the firing line - yikes!
No test on the G43X??
Not at this time. The G43X is not particularly interesting to us as the added length of the 48 is not thing but a positive when the gun is worn inside the waistband.
Tenicor 🤔😂🤣😂🤣
Just because its a Glock doesnt mean it will never have a malfunction. It means that it will have far less malfunctions than a similar more complex gun. Also you cant even judge it fairly since it hasnt even seen a break in period. Its a brand new gun. 1 malfunction in 1000 rounds on a brand new gun is way better than you will see in almost any other gun.
Agreed. I dont ever consider any of my guns “broken in” until after 3k rounds. At that point I can tell that the slide and trigger have bothe smoothed out considerably. Thats when I consider my gun ready to go.

Great video. Did you do a 1000 round test on the g19? If so, did it malfunction?
I have never done an identical test with a G19. However, I have fired 10s of thousands of rounds through a G19 the number of malfunctions I have experience is very small. Even smaller if the issues specific to ammo are eliminated. The G17/G19 are the gold standard of reliability and have 100s of millions of rounds through the platforms with very little problems.
