The crazed pilot product looks good. However I had a horrible experience with that company, bought a noise cancelling headset, left it in the box as a backup, then took it out a few months later, to find it generating a massive whine in the right ear. I contacted the company, but they refused to fix it, as it was over a couple months old.
Great video, subscribed! You could drill a hole into one of the wings of the nut and just tie it to the stem of the camera arm. Doesn’t even have to be tight, it will stop it spinning... 👍😎
Thanks for the suggestion! I ended up getting a mount from MyPilotPro but have you had issues with GoPro battery life? I want to record me shooting an approach but it seems like my battery dies about 30 mins after take off and I can't swap out batteries when it's on underneath the wing mid flight!
Yes, with aftermarket batteries, they drain fast and there is nothing you can do! The GoPro brand batteries last the longest in my experience. You also need to adjust your settings to 24 or 30 fps 1080p. More image quality or increased frame rate drains the battery faster.
@@TopG800 yep, they built jeeps too. The government name for Willy's was GPW, it was the soldiers who started calling the Ford Willy's "jeeps"as an abbreviation for GPW. Kinda like the Humvee nickname
It's actually a spacer from a Ford turbo, I just happened to have a few laying around. I'd guess it's about 3/8" thick. You can usually find something like that in the specialty hardware bins at most hardware stores, ie ACE or Home Depot.
@Flying Ford Tech your welcome. I just ordered everything you mentioned and will attempt to build the ram mount you did for my flying lessons. For audio recordings in the plane, does it work if you just use a voice recording app?
@@dasaxophonist yes, any simple audio recording app works. I used "Easy Voice Recorder" for Android. Good luck, it's going to be a great tool to review your flights!
Great video. I'll have to try mounting my GoPro this way too. I used a helmet mount to strap mine to the strut. You have to get a 360 camera. Game changer. Check my video for view from the strut with a 360 camera.
I just bought the 360 and when I turned the camera around during editing the ground was all wavy? Did you have issues with that? I’m thinking about returning it
I just dropped the hammer on two of the mounts, thanks for posting this video. Super helpful!

That's a good idea, thanks

Does the screw that holds the GoPro to the mount ever come loose? There’s nothing to stop that screw from vibrating out.
I've never had it come loose, but you're right it's not double secure.
Looks cool, the Cessna is said to be a “boring” plane, but it still has a top speed of a gt500, not particularly fast for a plane, but not slow :)
You can have a ton of fun in these things! And you get places quick when you're not limited to roads. Thanks for checking it out!

Also, some people say Ford never made planes, but I heard they made bomber plane bodies throughout ww2

@@fordtechchris Jeep is now currently owned by FCA, hummer is owned by GM, it will become a sub brand to GM when gmc makes the new electric truck
Hi sir, what type of spacer did you use for the tail skid? I'm needing to get one too. The wing mount was awesome btw, I just tried it!

This is great thank you
Thank you for watching!

@Flying Ford Tech awesome thank you so much! Can't wait to get good footage and stuff like you
To drill a hole precisely through the center of a bolt, take it to a Machine Shop. Shouldn't cost too much.
That's a great idea! You're right, I bet it would be plenty cheap for the added safety. Thank you.

Yeah, 360 camera is next on my list! Thank you

Don't try to drill a hole just double nut it,,,
