It's funny you say that Niko... I got to Stef's channel from your channel! I'm not saying which one I like more. The content is different between the two channels and I like those differences. On a day like today when you both drop a video. It's a great day.
Favorite Aviation - Stef (of course) - stevo1kinevo - Trent Palmer - Grant Baker (he's new to youtube and a local pilot to me. really looking forward to seeing his channel grow) - Citationmax In General - Goonzquad (2 kids having a blast being successful. you've got support them) - Hand Tool Rescue - Jay Bates - RR Buildings
To be honest, my favourite channel is yours because there is no drama and the not professional feel to your video makes me feel that we are the same and not like you are someone special 😊
Missionary Bush Pilot is another excellent aviation channel that follows Ryan who flys all over Papua New Guinea to and from some really interesting places. Top bloke... another Stefan... a “good people” 👍😀
Me too. Have been watching Stefan's video for over a year! Glad I found this channel. Have started my PPL training and hopefully will get my PPL soon. Here in New Zealand, nobody is doing UA-cam literately (even not many people filming in the cockpit). And US feels so far away. Glad that Stefan is in AU and feels close. haha.
Starting from the top, my favourite UA-cam channels are, 1. Stefan Drury - I am a Sri Lankan loving Australia so much, and I miss there so much when I am back in my country (Have visited there 5 times between 2018 and 2020 and waiting patiently to get a student visa to Australia and start flying for a CPL) so for me to have a better look at Australia, I always visit your channel. Also the other special thing, Your flights start from Moorabbin airport, Which is a special airport in my life, Did my first helicopter pilot lesson there, Did my first fixed wing flying lesson there and Also the best experience I had so far in my life; Skydiving, That flight did also took off from Moorabbin. Your videos consist of lot of information and knowledge. Being the owner of an aerial film making and a drone service providing company in Sri Lanka, I like the way you compose, script, concepts and post process all these videos. There is a really good content there on each of your videos. There's not a single video that I left half watched on your channel. Some day, it is also one of my dreams to start a aviation UA-cam Channel when I start flying. So it is not just aviation that I learn from this channel, But some pretty good guides and tips about how to become a better UA-camr ( More than a UA-camr, I see this channel as an Academy). I can clearly see you're not doing this just for the sake of doing a channel, There is enthusiasm, Passion and dedication. (I think they are the key things for success right?) I got more than enough gear to do all the recording and editing, But I just don't have a plane anywhere close to me yet. So I am kinda stuck at the moment with this covid 19 situation. Thanks to your videos again, I'm just one click away from Australia. From all of the videos I have watched from your channel, I still watch the series of the outback trip repeatedly. Some videos, I have watched more than 5 times. I have overflown Australia during my trips to Melbourne, But that was from 40,000 ft above. First time I flew to Australia was the first time I flew on an Emirates Airbus A380 (got an upgrade to business class as well! one of the best surprises so far), I couldn't see what I wanted to see from the aircraft (Intended that I'll be able to see Ayer's rock with sunrise from up there, but things were looking so tiny from up there LOL! - So here comes your outback series! Got what I need to see. There's a lot more to tell but, May be we'll catch up someday. Until then keep doing good stuff as usual! and Good luck! 2. Aviation101 - Just Amazing! Lots of lessons, information, creativity..... Loving that channel too! 3. Swayne Martin - Creative and interesting! 3. Steveo1Kinevo - Awesome! Very interesting stuff. Other Aviation UA-cam Channels I don't miss watching, Angle of Attack Pilot Bambi Missionary Bush Pilot Live from the flight deck Backcountry Pilot Becki and Chris Captain Joe Apart from Aviation, "Ozzy Man Reviews" is my favourite!
Picking a favorite UA-cam channel is like naming your favorite child, I can’t. I love them all, many for different reasons or aspects. Thanks for the tips, enjoy your videos! I try to imitate something from each of you guys.
My favourite UA-cam channels are quite diverse. You asked about flying so let's start with travel channels. Obviously, I love your channel so "Stefan Drury" first... but after that in no specific order... Those would be the inspirational "Kara and Nate" who are currently travelling the USA following 4 years visiting 100 countries; not flying at the moment, but they'll no doubt be back when they can. I really enjoy watching "Wingin' It! Paul Lucas" who has a really diverse forms of transport that he uses and goes on so many wonderful journeys. "Premier 1 Driver" is always a good watch, and I love that such a successful businessman makes the time to share his love of flying. "Life in the FL" is next... he's so great how he goes into detail of explaining all his flight planning, weather analysis, and massive respect for him managing to do low passes at EWR-LGA-JFK in his RV-8 during the early COVID-19 pandemic. Finally (but certainly one of my preferred travel channels) is "Geoff Marshall" who is such an amazing advocate of train (& tube) travel in the UK. Beyond that I really enjoy "Tom Scott", "Mark Rober" and "JerryRigEverything" (although only really his non-teardown videos). Finally, my one real dirty pleasure is your fellow countryman "Drain Addict" from Sydney - his videos are addictive!!! Watching you throughout lockdown has inspired me. I once flew solo in a glider as a teenager and now I'm hoping for flying lessons for Christmas!
I honestly don’t have one favorite because I love each channel for different reasons. But these are my top channels I watch daily. 74 Gear - because he reviews the movies and has an interesting insight on things. Steveo1Kinevo - Because he flies the most on camera, his voice is always calm and he has nice dialogue while he’s flying the plane. Citation Max - Because I love to see him fly his jet to awesome destinations. And he has a swag about him. Stefan Drury - of course yours because I think your the only one who really who shows how you record, how you do audio, how things work. And you make your videos feel more laidback and personal. 310 Pilot - Because he’s currently doing what I wish I could do with my son and family. Taking the family plane and flying everywhere for vacations and experiences. MojoGrip - You can’t skip this guy. Idk anyone who has reviewed more planes on UA-cam than him, plus he gives his opinions, sits inside and everything. Also, he’s currently building his own plane right now so I love seeing that process.
I dont plan on starting a youtube channel, but i really apricate this video. Ive spent way too much time trying to get good videos of my flight training. This was incredibly helpful.
JesseFlies was my favourite. He doesnt do videos anymore I believe, he got a job on an airline, but I loved watching his Phenom 300 videos. Really professional and skilled pilot.
"Martin Pauly" "SoCal Flying Monkey" "Taking Off" "Niko's Wings" I think I follow 100's of aviation youtubers at this point. Thank you for showing your setup, I've searched this topic numerous times and come up short. Quality content is more important. Keep up the great work.
Props for emphasizing audio. Often overlooked but you are 100% right about the importance of audio quality. When you think about it, audio is the only part of film/video watching where you experience it the same way you would in real life.
Another advantage to filming your training even if you don't post on social media. You can go back later to look for possible mistakes or areas that you can improve that you might not necessarily catch in the actual flight. As long as your instructor is ok with it I say do it even if only for your personal use. Hope this helps you, good luck and have fun.
@@kevincollins8014 Yeah that’s one of the main reasons I would do it honestly but still these decent gopros are pricey plus filters, audio cable, and mount that’s a lot of money
Love Steve’o and Niko’s channels, P1D, Flightchops and Martin Pauly also. What sets Stef’s channel aside in my opinion is the degree of honesty and candor which he conveys in his videos. A real, open, safety-conscious private pilot who is fully aware of the risks associated with not flying as often as some of the other guys (who mostly fly, at least in part, for business) and is also maybe a bit more « in touch » with the average non-US private pilot in terms of everyday concerns. Love your channel Stef, keep up the good work. Can’t wait to see your around the world adventure if that’s still on the cards.
Stefan Drury channel has become my favourite channel. The story Line is real, flying is real I love it. I am PPL pilot and owned Rockwell Commander. I did not come across your you tube videos when you visited London I would have loved to on tour. Keep up the good work
I have 3 favorite channels for different reasons. Your channel, The Flying Reporter and 310 Pilot. I like your videos because you share a lot about the things around the flying (like this video). I like The Flying Reporter because he shares great stories about flying in Europe (which I can relate more to) and 310 Pilot for their videos about flying to different places and doing fun stuff.
Niko's wings got me back into aviation after I stumbled on his channel last year. Since then I've found and routinely enjoy Steph's channel, Aircraft Academy, and Trent Palmer. I've also enjoyed watching MojoGrip develop his channel and hone his content.
We spoke with the owners of Nflightcam and they are pilots and great people...they live in Alaska. The high cost of that cable if you are using a Gopro Hero5 and later is the Gopro adapter which costs them and anyone else $50bucks. I am gonna try the audio recorder idea first after watching this video.
My favorite UA-cam channel is definitely you Stef! Your great quality and consistency makes your channel a great place to watch general aviation, and is full of helpful videos. All I can say is keep it up😀
Hi, totally agree with your mounts in metal as much as possible. With a mount I am using each part pretty much has a safety back up. Though just have beware some these metal cases are only holded in on the back by a spring I prefer not just rely on one safety system. Some ball mounts are wrapped by plastic again i did not use them.
My favourite channel is Your channel “Stefan” and your a fellow Aussie but I also like Martin Paula, Aviation 101, Angle of attack, Flight chops, Missionary bush pilot (PNG), Stevokinevo, Niko & The flying report. Great content on your Chanel so keep up the great work
Samm Shepard is amazing. He does more RC flight but he relates it to flying as a Pilot in a real airplane a lot, as well as the theory behind it. Very educational and fun! Unfortunately he passed away, but all his content is still there and I encourage you all to watch it in his memory.
The tips you gave in this video are really helpful. Thank you for taking the time to kinda show what it takes to create these videos. I don't think some people realize the hours and days it takes to film and edit even a 10 minute video. This sorta puts things into perspective.
My favourite UA-cam channel for aviation is either "Pilot_Frank" or "Hirnklempner" (both german). While Pilot_Frank has better quality and more quantity, Hirnklempner has a nice calm attitude while filming. Giving me the feeling of watching a good friend. Still both of them giving me the urge to watch their new video as soon as I see that they've posted one.
I can never really understand the "down" votes on a video that is informative and simply the way one person creates content for their own YT channel. Besides, he is just responding to questions that viewers have sent in. If you don't like the way the video is presented at least have the good will (or balls) to offer your opinion (as constructive criticism) in the comments rather than just hit that thumbs down icon. Pardon my French but...WTF is wrong with you people?
Honestly Stef I do think your channel is up there as the best. It's a very honest and humbling view of aviation. Plus its the not just the flying, its you as a person and your values that I subscribe to. Great video tips by the way! Cant wait to start sharing my flying journey too :-)
I like watching videos of airliner pilots and their experiences, like Captain Joe, 74Crew and Swayne Martin. I also enjoy pilots who fly smaller planes, like Missionary Bush Pilot, steveo1kinevo, and of course you! I also am subscribed to many more aviation UA-cam channels, and I am very grateful for all the information each of them provide me.
Just found your channel. Started flying at Bankstown airport 40 years ago. Now fly NE USA. Found this video very informative. Haven’t filmed my flights except for the occasional one for my own or family’s pleasure. Love the audio description. Makes total sense. My favourite aviation UA-camrs are 310 Pilot, Mike Goulian and Corporate Pilot Life. Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Hi Stefan, I would just like to say that you’re a great inspiration to all pilots. I love your videos and pretty much convinced to get a Cirrus maybe in the future by your confidence on your videos and love for aviation. It’s not the first time that I comment and in fact you’ve responded. Since then, your videos have just gone better. Thank you very much!!!✈️
Can't say that I have one favorite. Yours, Niko's Wings, Trent Palmer, Aviation101, S1K, The Finer Points, Jonas Marcinko, Mike Patey, etc. I'm still finding more all of the time. One channel leads me to another.
Great video Stefan! For audio, I use an inline cable from Nflightcam, it plugs in to the headset jack and splits the output between the headset and to the audio input of a GoPro. It capture all the radio and intercom chatter. Works great, and no problems synching audio to video at all!
Great tips Stef. Yes I agree good audio is so important with UA-cam videos. I’m liking ‘One World Flyer’ at the moment he’s sometimes funny with his airline reviews.
I enjoy your channel as well as Aviation 101, 310 pilot, and since I’m new to flying, a student with only two flights under my belt, I enjoy the instructional videos from Flying8MA. I’ll read the comment for other suggestions. Be safe
Favorite aviation channels... Trent Palmer, 310 Pilot, Premier 1 Driver, Flight Chops, and of course Stefan! It's funny how after a while you pick up on the callsigns and as soon as you hear ATC call "Echo Yankee Zulu" or "Zero Golf Mike" it's like, better pay attention, this one is for "us".
My favorite UA-cam channel has to Viva Family. It is the secondary channel for Viva Frei, a former Montreal attorney. On his Viva family, you see him doing normal everyday thing with his family. It is wholesome channel and his wife and kids always make me laugh. I never leave that channel without at least a smile or laughing.
My favourite channel (and this is not a suckup), is your channel. I have been through periods where I just didn't have time to keep up with all the channels to which I subscribe. It would take me hours per day. So, either I stopped watching some of them (particularly if their videos were long), or I selectively watched their content. However, I always watched every one of your videos. One of the factors has been what you talked about in this video, talk to the camera as though you are talking to a friend. Your videos are friendly, natural and personal (as well as enjoyable and entertaining). Thanks, Stef
There is more convenient way to record audio syncronized with video. I just use gopro hero8 and audio adapter to it and then I conect it to aircraft audio output. The adaptor levels the audio so at the end it sounds very good, and it already looks like complete video with sound.
Yeah that’s how I originally did it, definitely a good method and saves all the syncing issues. I use the audio recorder so I don’t rely on a camera for audio in case that camera fails or runs out of batteries. But definitely a good option.
I have been telling my son to Please do this. His travels include the grand canyon, pennsylvania, beaches. He has been flying over 25 years. Spends all his money on his 2 planes, not so much go pro. Thanks Stefan and milkshake
Besides the channels you mentioned, Stefan, I also like the following ones: *** Aviation *** - Pilot Yellow (about flying helicopters) - Backcountry182 (a guy flies a C182 and a YAK-52 around Costa-Rica) - Fly8MA (especially their series on destroying an aircraft) - Taking Off (more talk than action but still very interesting) - Stefan Langer (on flying gliders) - Pilot Bambi (GA in Europe) *** Video Editing (in DaVinci Resolve) *** - Casey Faris - MrAlexTech
Lewdix Aviation would have to be my favourite, but it is an American channel. As an Australian, I do find your channel to be more relevant in a lot of areas of course.
Honestly Stefan this has become my favorite channel. I am in the process of finishing ground school here in the US and have just signed a contract to buy a 2012 SR22 G3 NA which we are picking up in a few weeks. That will be what I learn to fly in and a lot of the reason I chose to even consider a Cirrus to learn in was your channel. I really appreciate this episode because I have been thinking about filming the journey of learning to fly and these have been great tips. Thank you - God bless you and Merry Christmas!! Bart
Thank you Bart, that’s really nice feedback and I appreciate it. Great to hear you’re part of the Cirrus family as well now, congratulations on your new purchase and all the best with your flight training. A very merry Christmas to you too, stef
The NFlight spanner plates on their website have a picture of the ball mount. They have an option without the ball mount. Is that the one you have and are able to screw in the bolt type mount? To me that looks much more secure than the ball mount. Thanks for the video. Just recently found your channel and it fun going back through all your videos. I’m looking forward to the next.
I am assuming you are running out of battery on the wing cameras...and on the inside you swap them out. The Hero9 has a bigger battery (1720mAh) but the camera can suck it dry quickly dependent on what resolution you choose to record (and if you leave the front facing LED screen on). We are starting with the Hero9 on the outside (mounted to the tie down loop using MyPilotPro mount since I really don't wanna place anything on the skin of the plane or mess with screws) placed in an all metal Ulanzi cage. The Hero8 for inside the plane (yet to buy). I am attaching a 6750mAh lipstick battery to the back of the Hero9 Ulanzi cage. And will use a 10000mAh brick inside the plane when I setup the Hero8 for cockpit recording. I was going to get a fancy cable to record audio on the Hero8 camera but you just changed my mind for me and I will adopt your separate audio recording and sync them later. Wuddya think?
This is a fantastic break down! The GoPro hero 9 has an incoming update this month for the Microphone adapter, as that was broken with the last firmware update! Love the videos! Fly safe!
Funnily I skipped over this video last year as I had no need to watch it, while today I was flying a friend around. You were one of the big influences in my finally deciding to just go for it earlier in the year so giant thank you for that and the rest of the content. I'm curious if managing the cameras gets easier over time? Today was only my third flight with a camera and twice I ended up forgetting about it. As you pointed out it is never a case of juggling flying and filming. Does it just get easier over time like the rest of it where you remember to film? I'm still not passed that point where just admiring the outside world is enough to take up the spare time between tasks.
My favourite UA-cam aviation channel is... Life in the FL (Fast Lane) by Jon Weiswasser... a Meridian pilot and drummer for an Eagles tribute band. Enjoy! Thanks for asking. Wayne (GeezerGeek Pilot)
The timing is really good. I'm looking at recording a new series for CAP where we are going to be in the airplane for our orientation flights with our cadets. This helped a lot. Thanks!
Stef....great episode. My fav channel is THIS ONE!!!! But also really enjoy MalibuFlyer and Premier 1Driver as well Seriously, my wife thinks I’m nuts by I’m always talking about u..... wonderful stories, personable guy and great tips for flying. Thanks.....oh and forgot nikoswings.
Hi Stef Thank you for answering my ND-filter question. I just had my Rockwell Commander 112A in the annual/100h service. They installed the same wing mount as you have (including all the EASA Papers). However, I hope that tomorrow the weather will be fine for a check flight with the GoPro 360 on my wing. Looking forward for more beautiful videos of your flights. Best regards, from Switzerland. Alain /Pilot GJ
my favorite UA-cam except this one offcourse Are: Trent plamer , matt gruthmiller, pilot bambi. steveo1kanivo and The Candourist!! thanks for the hard work!!!
Great info. I'm a pilot too and shoot but never posted. I'd like to start. I don't have a fave. I watch YT with many different subjects, like aviation, EV's, video, guns, cars the list goes on.
Stefan - regarding your video storage, perhaps look into a Synology NAS, can get a 5 or 8 bay version, pop 8 or 10TB hard drives in there, will help get rid of excessive little drives?
A recent favourite channel of mine is Bryan Air Podcast. A couple of former South African Express Airways pilots and simulator instructors who talk of the global aviation industry but a focus on Southern Africa and the continent.
Hi Stefan. Great channel. I use a GoPro link cable made by NflightCam that saves all the audio editing. There are many excellent channels out there but one I have been really enjoying is Amy White. A young woman who has flown across the States in a Cessna 150 and many other adventures. keep up the excellent work.
My favourite small channel used to be yours, but as you're approaching your first UA-cam play button I would say Airplane Academy I recently discovered :)
Stefan... thank you so much for your content. This video has helped me a lot. I started my own UA-cam channel called BPM@TPA. Kind of a fusion of my two passions... techno and flying (Beats Per Minute @ Traffic Pattern Altitude). Lol. It’s still in its infancy... as is my flying. I’ll be using some of the tips and tricks you outlined in your video. Thanks again!
Have you considered putting one on the left rear window set up to give an over the shoulder view? Might give a good overview of the PFD and out the window. And of course we can rate your landings better! 😜
Hi Stefan, you along with other aviation UA-cam channel producers are enlightening me of the: * cameras * audio Computer program (perhaps an app) to edit the stored imaging and then load to UA-cam. How I would describe this is INTRIGUING.
Hi Stef, Thoroughly enjoyed another video of yours been watchinf alot of catchups of late, as always love ya work! My fav aviation UA-cam channels are yours and Nikos Wings. Cheers
I favor styles of GA like STOL. Mike Patey is a mind blowing and passionate monster. Head scratching things he gets into + excellent content and production. I enjoy Flight Chops because of variety of aircraft and production quality. Jason at Finer Points for precision and instruction (observation) Angle of Attack for Alaska! Amy White for her love of flying. I love 310 Pilot and Baron Pilot for twin. L O V E the DA 62 twin and watch anybody flying or reviewing it. STEVEO1 just flew one. Nikos Wings is awesome. He's become a professional production master and his flights can have you really engaged in whats gone well, or not! I support your channel because of content, explanation of each mission. And you come across well!. Not forced or over produced " looks relaxed" There are more i follow but I'm thinking I've answered your question! And you're right. It's awesome seeing non US sights. Its a plus for you!
Hey Steve from KF70! Favorite UA-cam channels: 310 pilot, Barron Pilot, C.W. Lamoine, Primer 1 Driver, In the hanger, Aviation 101, and Blanco Lirio. I check it with these weekly. I hope you get to do you around the world flight in the next year or two! Cheers, Cookie
Thank you, not sure if 2021 will allow anyone to safely or efficiently pass around the world, but here’s to some domestic adventures in the meantime and definitely a RTW at some point in the future. All the best.
Thanks for all the responses so far. Check out the channels in all the comments below, add your own favourites, and let's grow these communities together. As promised in the video here are the channels I watch the most:
- Niko's Wings (fellow Cirrus pilot and one of the most generous guys you'll ever meet)
- Steveo1Kinevo (one of the originals, and I want an eScooter race with him one day soon)
- The Flying Reporter (professionally made and fun to watch flying videos from the UK)
- Trent Palmer (amazing visuals and he lands on the side of mountains, that's pretty cool)
- Mojo Grip (if you like home builds, he's building his own Sling TSi)
- Becki and Chris (adventures in helicopters and great design/filming tips)
Outside of aviation I also really like:
- Thomas Heaton (landscape photography and someone who also loves nature and exploration)
- Currently Hannah (fellow Aussie traveller with amazing cinematography and fun stories)
- MKBHD (not that he needs more followers! but a great presenter and great tech content)
- Kai W (photography reviews and tech vlogs)
- Sarah Dietschy (tech, visuals, and very creative vlogs)
- Matti Haapoja (photography, tech, and vlogging)
There are many more channels I watch, but those are the ones I pay attention to whenever they upload.
stef 👍
I agree with your comment about Currently Hannah. I really enjoy her videos having been to a few of the places she has featured.
Alright here are mine...
They aren’t proper pilots, and don’t make videos on their experiences as a pilot. They are younger people who are learning to fly and have a passion for aviation. They make flight sim videos from:
- Flying with their friends
- Aircraft review
- Accident analysis
- Information about different airlines
- Videos like “how has COVID 19 affected the aviation industry”
- Weekly dose of aviation
- General flying information and facts about aviation
They are:

Backcountry182 is an absolutely amazing channel! Super underrated and crazy backcountry footage at some incredible spots!
Oh and I know you must already watch him but Matt Guthmiller’s production is on another level nowadays
@@HugAviation Yeah, I was going to mention Matt as well, some of the visuals are out of this world. And the Candourist, I absolutely love him.

Hey Niko,
Love your channel and the content you upload. Hope you are well. #flyingislife
I like your channel and Stef's channel, you both make the flying real.
Favorite Aviation
- Stef (of course)
- stevo1kinevo
- Trent Palmer
- Grant Baker (he's new to youtube and a local pilot to me. really looking forward to seeing his channel grow)
- Citationmax
In General
- Goonzquad (2 kids having a blast being successful. you've got support them)
- Hand Tool Rescue

Missionary Bush Pilot is another excellent aviation channel that follows Ryan who flys all over Papua New Guinea to and from some really interesting places. Top bloke... another Stefan... a “good people” 👍😀
Flying Reporter, Lew Dix, Jodel Flyer, Fly8MA (by far the best instructional channel)
My favorite UA-cam channel is Stefan Drury.

Oh, that guy that has popped up in my YT feed with a Melbourne international landing video, than again for Sydney. I love that channel since :)
I cant stand that guy
@@yuanfu9692 YAAAAAY a fellow kiwi!
I think my favorite would be 310 Pilot. I like the casual feel of their content which makes it really relatable.
Starting from the top, my favourite UA-cam channels are,
Other Aviation UA-cam Channels I don't miss watching,
Angle of Attack
Pilot Bambi
Missionary Bush Pilot
Live from the flight deck
Backcountry Pilot
Becki and Chris
Captain Joe
Apart from Aviation, "Ozzy Man Reviews" is my favourite!
Was just thinking a few days ago how cool it would be to film my flight training, this video couldn’t have been more perfect timing!
I would watch your channel.
@@TheGbelcher Haha thanks man I’ll consider doing it in the future just gotta get the money for the equipment 😬
@@elik1491 Exactly
I like The Flying Reporter because he shares great stories about flying in Europe (which I can relate more to) and 310 Pilot for their videos about flying to different places and doing fun stuff.
...plus talent/creativity of the pilot. Stefan, you excel !
Niko's wings got me back into aviation after I stumbled on his channel last year. Since then I've found and routinely enjoy Steph's channel, Aircraft Academy, and Trent Palmer. I've also enjoyed watching MojoGrip develop his channel and hone his content.
for all those who are looking after a cable to record atc coms
i'm using Nflightcam cables and they are amazing
We spoke with the owners of Nflightcam and they are pilots and great people...they live in Alaska. The high cost of that cable if you are using a Gopro Hero5 and later is the Gopro adapter which costs them and anyone else $50bucks. I am gonna try the audio recorder idea first after watching this video.
My favourite youtube aviator is you stefan!!!
I like Pilot Bambi a lot, she is a fix wing/helicopter pilot from the Netherlands, sharing her experiences of flying (English content).
I'm starting a new UA-cam channel. I found this video extremely helpful. Thank you for making and posting it!
Great video Stefan! For audio, I use an inline cable from Nflightcam, it plugs in to the headset jack and splits the output between the headset and to the audio input of a GoPro. It capture all the radio and intercom chatter. Works great, and no problems synching audio to video at all!
Ace content as ever Stef. Shout out to Jason Miller at The Finer Points as a recommended channel.
my favorite youtube channel
Backcountry182
Great tips Stef. Yes I agree good audio is so important with UA-cam videos. I’m liking ‘One World Flyer’ at the moment he’s sometimes funny with his airline reviews.
My fave channels are yours, Matt Guthmiller, Plane Delicious, and Aviation101.
I enjoy your channel as well as Aviation 101, 310 pilot, and since I’m new to flying, a student with only two flights under my belt, I enjoy the instructional videos from Flying8MA. I’ll read the comment for other suggestions. Be safe
Stef’s channel obviously 😀plus in the UK The Flying Reporter and Private Pilot Vlogs👍
Mike Patey builds my favorite
Besides the channels you mentioned, Stefan, I also like the following ones:
*** Aviation ***
- Pilot Yellow (about flying helicopters)
- Backcountry182 (a guy flies a C182 and a YAK-52 around Costa-Rica)
- Fly8MA (especially their series on destroying an aircraft)
- Taking Off (more talk than action but still very interesting)
- Stefan Langer (on flying gliders)
- Pilot Bambi (GA in Europe)
*** Video Editing (in DaVinci Resolve) ***
- Casey Faris
- MrAlexTech
Very educational for any video making. Well done.
Lewdix Aviation would have to be my favourite, but it is an American channel. As an Australian, I do find your channel to be more relevant in a lot of areas of course.
I'm in the U.S. and love your content.
Great tips! My favorite flying channel lately is Angle of Attack.
@Stephen Drury!!! Thank you - I needed the Line leveler tip...GoPro handles it, in a piper.. DA40 not so forgiving into the direct audio recorder
I'm still not passed that point where just admiring the outside world is enough to take up the spare time between tasks.
thanks for all the vids stef youve inspired me to become a pilot at such a young age
My favourite UA-cam aviation channel is... Life in the FL (Fast Lane) by Jon Weiswasser... a Meridian pilot and drummer for an Eagles tribute band. Enjoy! Thanks for asking. Wayne (GeezerGeek Pilot)
Thumbs up for all your channel content, infomative and interesting as always.
The timing is really good. I'm looking at recording a new series for CAP where we are going to be in the airplane for our orientation flights with our cadets. This helped a lot. Thanks!
Good to hear, enjoy flying with the cadets.
Yours is one of my favourite plus Drone film guide and trip in a van
We love us some Angle of Attack, Aviation101, and Trent Palmer!
Thanks Stefan, stubbled across this video while looking for inspiration to restart our channel - Great info, Thanks...
Stef....great episode. My fav channel is THIS ONE!!!! But also really enjoy MalibuFlyer and Premier 1Driver as well
Seriously, my wife thinks I’m nuts by I’m always talking about u..... wonderful stories, personable guy and great tips for flying. Thanks.....oh and forgot nikoswings.
Hi Stef
Thank you for answering my ND-filter question.
Thanks for submitting the question GJ, hope you get some good shots from your 360 cam.
Favorite channel that isn't one of the big names...Me and My Flying Machine
my favorite UA-cam except this one offcourse Are: Trent plamer , matt gruthmiller, pilot bambi. steveo1kanivo and The Candourist!! thanks for the hard work!!!
Thanks for the tip, I'll Google that and take a look. Cheers.
Love this channel! Also following 310 pilot, wandering foxbat & Nicko
A recent favourite channel of mine is Bryan Air Podcast. A couple of former South African Express Airways pilots and simulator instructors who talk of the global aviation industry but a focus on Southern Africa and the continent.
Advisory circle 21-08 here in Australia doesn't require a engineering order if you don't drill inside the aircraft. Eg it's got to be temporary.
So happy that order came out. And for the RA-AUS guys they have been able to mount inside an aircraft for a long time.
EXCELLENT video, Stefan. I am now a thrilled subscriber and look forward to watching more of your content. Great job, sir! :)
Thanks for the advice Steph, made my first flight video on this channel the other day and will definitely use your tips in future vids! :D
LewDix, PlaneOldBen, TheFlyingReporter, Trent Palmer, FlightChops, Candourist, and of course Stef ;-)
You are the top UA-camr I know that makes me want to get a Cirrus! 🛩
Obviously enjoy your channel greatly, also like watching Non-Stop Dan and Noel Philips which are more inflight vlogs etc
Stefan... thank you so much for your content.
Wow thanks for a great topic and honesty it really helps, super helpful content as always 🇿🇦
my favourite channel is Elliot Seguin's, what a lad
Thankyou Stefan for the tips and tricks you use for your UA-cam channel.👍
your definetely my favourite
Have you considered putting one on the left rear window set up to give an over the shoulder view? Might give a good overview of the PFD and out the window. And of course we can rate your landings better! 😜
Premier1driver, CitationMax and Steveo1Kinevo for the USA and yours mate, my favourite in OZ
Hi Stefan, you along with other aviation UA-cam channel producers are enlightening me of the:
* cameras
* audio
Computer program (perhaps an app) to edit the stored imaging and then load to UA-cam. How I would describe this is INTRIGUING.
Thank you so so much for this. Most appreciated. I will go ahead and make this a reality
Fav Channel ( Pilot Yellow)
Hi Stef,
Thoroughly enjoyed another video of yours been watchinf alot of catchups of late, as always love ya work!
My fav aviation UA-cam channels are yours and Nikos Wings.
Cheers
I love your contents as well as your style! a part from all the airline reviewers, I love the Missionary Bush Pilot channel! cheers from Switzerland
I favor styles of GA like STOL. Mike Patey is a mind blowing and passionate monster. Head scratching things he gets into + excellent content and production.
I enjoy Flight Chops because of variety of aircraft and production quality.
Jason at Finer Points for precision and instruction (observation)
Angle of Attack for Alaska!
Not forced or over produced " looks relaxed"
There are more i follow but I'm thinking I've answered your question! And you're right. It's awesome seeing non US sights. Its a plus for you!
Trent Palmer, Steveo1Kinevo, Niko's Wings, Premier 1 Driver and JR Aviation for me! I've been getting into Missionary Bush Pilot too
Hey Steve from KF70!
My favourites✈️:
Stefan Drury (of course)
LewDix aviation
