  • A samosa is a triangular shaped crispy flaky pastry filled with a generous filling of potatoes, onion, green peas with a mix of Indian Spices. Vegan Samosa is a crispy Indian famous snack and is made in all the special occasions. It is one of the most popular snacks in India and goes really well with Green chutney. This Vegan Samosa can be baked and air fried too.
    These Vegan Samosas are easy to prepare with some simple steps. You can always choose your favorite stuffing and also adjust the spice level as per your choice and prepare the Vegan samosa recipe. I have also made the all time famous recipe for green chutney which is again so easy to prepare and pairs perfect with the Vegan Samosas.
    You can make these vegan Vegetable samosas with other stuffings too but traditionally it is made with potatoes.
    These Vegan samosas can also be made in bulk and frozen for later use.

    Hi Minnie! If I want to make a lot of samosas to save for later, is it better to freeze before frying, or after? Fantastic recipe, I can't wait to try it!

    • @Foodotomic
      @Foodotomic  2 роки тому +2

      It is always better to freeze before frying, but you can do it both ways, make sure to let them rest in room temperature after taking them out of the freezer and be careful while adding them to hot oil as there might be some water in it.

      Hello Donna, you don't have to use these specific spices, which one you don't have and may be I can suggest an alternative to you :)

    Can you use just the cumin powder (not seeds) and coriander powder (i have no coriander available right now) for this recipe? Thanks!

    • @Foodotomic
      @Foodotomic  Рік тому +1

      you can use the cumin powder, but don't change coriander powder for fresh coriander, you can just omit it and that's alright.

      Carom seeds are called Ajwain in Hindi. They add very good flavor to the samosas, but they are optional.

    whenever i make samosas, they go soggy when i let them cool. What am i doing wrong?

    • @Foodotomic
      @Foodotomic  2 роки тому +2

      That's a very good question, make sure you keep the samosa in a flatter surface after frying so the steam can go away, if you keep them in a close container or even like together in a bowl they can get a little soggy.
