This aloo samosa recipe, sometimes known as a somoso, is perfect to add to your book of Iftar recipes. This easy samosa recipe is perfect for vegetarians as well as vegans.

I wish it included regular American measurements (cups, teaspoons, etc)... "Grams and milliliters" is almost useless to us.

Look up equilavent on the internet
For example , 200g is approx 1.6 us cups

This looks good. But it would have been nice to mention how many potatoes you used the the size for people like me who do not a a weighing scale.

Thank you! You should put it for a minimum of an hour. I normally make the dough and then prepare the filling. For best results let it rest a little longer. 🙂

Can I use selfraising flour instead
Yes, you can use self-raising flour instead of plain flour in samosas. However, the texture of the samosa pastry may be lighter and more cake-like than samosas made with plain flour.
For best results, I would recommend using plain flour. 🙂

This is not the proper samoosa pastry - should be rolled in layers with oil and rolled big and thin, baked 10 mins then separated and trimmed into paper thin strips, filled and made into triangular samoosas

I only needed the filling, I tried it many times now, it comes out perfect 👌 sometimes I have 800gr of potatoes so I reduce the other ingredients according to that and it works

☝️Excuse me, Carom seeds are same as "anís" in Mexico? They are smaller than Cumin seeds they are very look alike, but "anís" we normally use for bread and tea. ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️

I think oil is less for 200 gram flour ...in all samosa dough recipes oil is 4/ 5 tablespoons for 200/250 gram flour
