Yup, happened to us too. We had a child lock on one side where her carseat was, but after I got my licence I decided to switch her seat behind mine so I can put her in the car before I drive out of the garage (the garage is tight so we parked more to the right so that the driver can get out of the car)... 3 days later she opened the door while my husband was driving... On the road... Full speed... A mini heart attack later, both doors in the back are locked.

I tried to get to the emergency pullover area as fast as I could, I had an emotional and mental breakdown. I was so scared, as soon as I pulled over I grabbed them and balled my eyes out; then I explained to them what could have happened to them. My daughter understood more than my son, because my son thought he was invincible like Spiderman. Convincing him that he wasn't Spiderman is a whole other story, but yeah.. My kids are grown now. They need to make commercials to remind parents to engage the child safety lock on the doors.

@@jo-eo9ld I agree, it kind of seems like the bare minimum to learn to communicate with your child!
What other option is there?
@@kathrinkaeferyeah I think this should be the bare minimum to do for your kid. Sad and crazy to think that someone might not do it!
You know you’re a parent when you’re saying “haha” to your kid after stopping them from seriously hurting themselves 😂
That lip.... so mischievous but I love seeing his cute quirky bad@$$ self... he kills me 😂❤
Just the inspiration I needed to go engage child locks on all my back car doors before something similar happens with my own little escape artists 💀
he’s so cute but so mischievous 😭

The best part for me was “give me the stick”. Love it. Hang in there and enjoy what you can because they grow up so so fast.😊
He looked at her at the end like “how you gon do me like that ma” 😂
My niece did that when i was running errands with her. She waited until i was going around a curve, opened the door, and tried to lean out. Don't know how i kept the car on the road while completely arched over the seat holding her in a death grip until i could stop the car. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you have to.🤪😂🤔
the next step up is “look mommy I learned how to take my seatbelt off!” while you’re driving. Stay safe out there 🤧
My cousins are in that phase and their mother failed to inform me of that when I went to pick them up from school. Not a fun drive at all

so what is the difference of yelling and not yelling in sign language?
@@anniebe4992 you sign more forcefully or angrily, depending on situation, but its mostly just sharper movements and exaggerated facial expressions and such
Your statement doesn’t make sense. You said your child learned to open the door while driving with his foot(huh). Don’t you mean that he learned to open his door while you are driving? Confusing sentence.
@@cherribenzin8289he learned to open the door with his foot while she was driving

Click bait. That is NOT how yelling in sign language looks like at all! It is all about facial expressions and fast, sharp hand movements. She signed normal.
I'm not into parenting videos, but even not having kids, this one got me, so relatable and awesome mothering.
The "Ha!" Finger point when she engaged the child locks was awesome! 😂😂
This was the one part of the video that made me uncomfortable; I don’t want to feel like I’m winning against my child. But I understand the thoughts and feelings that led up to it.

His sad Face at the end is everything ❤
Yup, happened to us too. We had a child lock on one side where her carseat was, but after I got my licence I decided to switch her seat behind mine so I can put her in the car before I drive out of the garage (the garage is tight so we parked more to the right so that the driver can get out of the car)... 3 days later she opened the door while my husband was driving... On the road... Full speed... A mini heart attack later, both doors in the back are locked.
I felt your pain. My almost three year old son with speech delays, is continuously discovering ways to k*ll himself and gets really frustrated when I try to interrupt his plots 😅
When he said, “I need the stick,” I was too tickled 😂. Ummmm no sir you do not ❤
His lil face is priceless!! Like “really lady are you just gonna lock me in like that” bless you mom, you are awesome! I know it’s frustrating at times but it does get better, they don’t stay young forever.🌈

I see way too many parents that are afraid to just straight up so 'no' to their kid. There was something oddly refreshing about you just being straight up like, "No, we're not doing that anymore, momma's driving." Kids gotta learn what's dangerous and what means no! Even if they might not get it right away.
It’s a lovely word NO , mine learnt it really quickly I was lucky. My friend got really fed up saying the word she had NO tattooed on her hand, the left hand said “I SAID NO “ brill. She now has grandkids and uses it on them. 🙏

I remember many many years ago, when my children were toddlers. They are now adults with children of their own thank goodness. O remember driving 70 miles an hour on the freeway and my children would climb out of their cars seats. Hard to pull over quick on the freeway. Your doing good mom, keep it up.
Love the "Ha ha" at the end. It is so something I would have said.
He is too precious, never fails to put a smile on my face
When I was about his age or just a little older, I accidentally opened the door and fell out as the car was going about 45mph. Luckily, I survived and ended up with mostly minor lacerations, severe road rash, and a nasty cut to the head that gave me a lasting scar. To this day, I can still remember waking up on the side of that highway as my dad carried me back to the car. I could hear my mom crying, begging my dad to tell her I wasn’t dead. So, please remember to keep those child locks engaged, because kids will always find a way to endanger themselves.
Holy crap! That sounds horrifying! I'm glad you survived.
@@indodinoyoutube thanks. It was very scary. I lost consciousness, had a nasty cut on my head and pretty bad road rash on various parts of my body, but I was left with a unique story, if nothing else, because few people experience that in their lifetime, especially at such a young age.
@@Blueeyedshygirl4u You definitely have quite the story to tell! The closest thing I have to that was trying to go down the stairs whilst pretending to be a puppy when I was 4. I made it 3 successful steps before pulling a handstand and tumbling down the other 17. Landed flat on my back on the tile floor at the bottom. Not a fun experience. Somehow though, I didn't break anything. Was just sore, bruised, winded, and gained an irrational fear of stairs for a while.

He is just crazy about that screwdriver.
My mother gave my brother a screwdriver to keep him occupied when he was about Cooper’s age (maybe 2-2.5 yrs). He surprised her by being able to take the mail slot off the front door. She had been wanting to take the mail slot off the door to make it easier to paint. It was cute to see this little red haired boy with the chubby fingers around the screwdriver, determined to do the job. I have so much respect for this Mom as she disciplines when needed and sticks to it. Even more so as her son Coop is deaf. Setting boundaries for children seems to have gone by the wayside these days. As you can see, her son is learning through discipline using a technique called PARENTING. Bravo Beth! I enjoy your videos. 🤗👍💜
