Hey Dale ! -- That pink thing you drank isn't faluda, its called "Rose Milk". Unfortunately, unlike the first thing you drank (canteloop) this pink thing is made from things that come out of packaged powder drink mixes like "CoolAid". Back in the 90s they used to make this drink from real rose flower petals !!
@@Dale_Philip I'll look it up and respond .. but your first drink was definitely organic, non gmo canteloop. Gmo is limited to certain cash crops in India and very few veggies and fruits.. I'll respond soon..
There were none I could find in the quick internet searches I did, but as an Indian living in the USA it is hard for me to see some of the changes that are happening there.. here's how they used to make it (you can do it at home in Scotland) 1. Add petals from 5 mid sized roses to 1 liter distilled water (water must be heated to 75 degrees celcius before adding petals ) 2. Cover container with airtight lid and let it sit in the fridge for a 24 to 36 hours. Filter out the water with a sieve if you don't want the petals in your drink, or just blend the whole thing together into a thicker mush using a powerful blender 3. Your rose water is ready 4. Add 1 part rosewater to 2 parts milk , some ice cubes and add sugar to your taste and blend it .. the milk you choose (whole/skimmed/ 2%) will determine the thickness of the final rose milk .. so choose the milk you like.. I personally would prefer the 2% milk 5. Your drink is ready (you can add a pinch of pink food color to make it look like the drink on the streets .. but this is optional)
There is mum and pop shop in Mylapore, Chennai you can get authentic rose milk, mostly ppl have rose petal cooked down and made into syrup which is used to make rose milk
Have fallen in love with the way you tip correctly and to the people who really are working hard and serve the best as per the resources available with them 👍☺️❤️🇮🇳
Lol, some of Tamil conversations around are funny. The rickshaw dude checking the authenticity of the ₹200 rupee note is told- “relax, it’s an Indian 200 rupee not and not from his (Dale’s) country.”
Hi Dale! I want to clarify certain things to you. I am an Indian (was born in Tamil Nadu) but I live and have lived in USA for more than 45 years., first as an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) and now as a naturalized American citizen. India does not simply charge 10 times for just white tourists only for admission to government historic places. They do the same with even NRIs and overseas settled Indians. Skin colors do not matter nor come into play. I myself have been paying these bloated fees every time I have visited these historic places in India, even last year. The rationale behind this is that Indians living and working in India pay taxes whereas foreign tourists and visiting NRIs do not pay any income taxes to the Indian government. In the US everybody pays taxes even on foreign earned incomes. Even these bloated fees after converting to USD pale in comparison to that we pay here in US when we visit any government place that charges an admission fee. Another thing you need to understand is that India is not merely changing its city names, state names, etc. from English to local Indian language names just to feel more patriotic! All they are doing is that they are just reverting back to their original names. It is the British who could not pronounce these original names and changed them to suit them!
Nope. It's skin color. I'm Indian American too. No one has ever charged me a non-Indian rate at these places. The only savy guys are the autowallahs that try to take me the long way to places to run up the meter, but I know my way around pretty well and speak Hindi fluently, so we put an end to that quickly. I've never had to pay a supposed NRI rate anywhere. No one asks me for my passport. And he's right, the country is being overrun by nationalists. Everything else is an excuse. Nationalists want to change the names of Mughal era cities as well.
The smile on old couple’s face made my day..They didn’t even wanted to take tip!!❤️

Hands down, India is the most interesting country to visit in the world. In fact it’s like several countries in one. I’ve been to India 21 times and can’t wait for this COVID thing to pass so I can get back. Friendliest people in the world. I get treated like family everywhere I go. What a pleasure to watch you roaming about Chennai - one of my favorite cities. Be well - keep those vids coming - waiting for the next one.
Do visit tamil nadu and kerala
What a fantastic experience.
Why not Kolkata?
if you like dirty countries, garbages and to get poisonous, sure why not, go to india

Only Rs. 180 for his meal! That's pretty cheap for a resteraunt. Same thing in Delhi in a similar resteraunt would have costed more than double that.

I wonder if there is a place to try the authentic one made from real rose petals.
@@Dale_Philip I'll look it up and respond .. but your first drink was definitely organic, non gmo canteloop. Gmo is limited to certain cash crops in India and very few veggies and fruits.. I'll respond soon..
There were none I could find in the quick internet searches I did, but as an Indian living in the USA it is hard for me to see some of the changes that are happening there.. here's how they used to make it (you can do it at home in Scotland)
1. Add petals from 5 mid sized roses to 1 liter distilled water (water must be heated to 75 degrees celcius before adding petals )
2. Cover container with airtight lid and let it sit in the fridge for a 24 to 36 hours. Filter out the water with a sieve if you don't want the petals in your drink, or just blend the whole thing together into a thicker mush using a powerful blender
3. Your rose water is ready
4. Add 1 part rosewater to 2 parts milk , some ice cubes and add sugar to your taste and blend it .. the milk you choose (whole/skimmed/ 2%) will determine the thickness of the final rose milk .. so choose the milk you like.. I personally would prefer the 2% milk
You gave tip to hardworking person I'm blessed to see people like you.
Chennai is so developed and clean woww.. The Future Heart of India I guess..

How are you?
I'm very Bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣

True
Thanks Dale for giving the old man the extra money you have a good heart
How come!? They aren’t looking at your passport. It’s basically skin colour, which last time I checked was blatant racism.
@@kvs1678 It is common sense and not racism. Have you ever seen an Indian who looks so white?
Bro said just want some light food and proceeds to order tandoori chicken and lassi 😂
