Dale, Annie and I were glad to meet you on that trip and we've enjoyed watching quite a number of your older blogs since then (we've subscribed). What a surprise to tune in and see this video today on your channel. It brought back some fun memories (we still haven't looked at the photos and videos we shot during our 3-4 months in India but we watched this 1/2 hr. video). We hope to run into you again and look forward to seeing more of your postings. All the best!
@@Dale_Philip - Reading your page here is like reading a book... you have so many followers, we're really impressed! We're happy we got to share this adventure with you. I had brought along about 25 pounds of balloons with me... mostly to play with kids on the streets as Annie explored her "shopping chakra" (she's got that developed like the artist she is). When I'd get bored (like on that back river boat trip), the balloons would often find their way out of my bag. I tried not to interfere with the "authentic cultural experience" everyone was there for, but sometimes my natural instinct took over. I got sick eating fish from venders by the Chinese Fish nets in Cochi... then we took off for Munnar for a few days. We returned to Chochi for a 2-week a detox ayurveda retreat (after we ate that fish I felt I was already cleansed of everything). Then we went south and had a better backwater adventure. We ended our time with about two months in Goa. We had hoped to see cave temples before returning to the States, but when everything closed down in March we were "Prisoners in Paradise." They closed all the shops, restaurants, grocery stores... we weren't afraid of catching the virus since there weren't any cases in our area but we were never sure we could find food. That led to some fun adventures sneaking around town to find anyone who would sell us food and snacks and sneaking into the ocean for swimming every day (since we had about the distance of a football field between us and the nearest other people we figured we had plenty of social distance for safety). We booked three flights to get back home and they were all cancelled. Finally the US Embassy arranged for a bus to Mumbai and a flight back to the US (we haven't gotten the bill yet, but it will be coming) and we joined about 300 other Americans to Atlanta, Georgia where Annie and I rented a car and drove about 12-hrs non-stop back home. We've been feeling pretty isolated here ever since.... This page of yours is giving us some good smiles. Wishing you the best.

In my humble opinion, this guy’s videos have to be used as a reminder to the department of tourism/ other tour operators who are so naive (apparently) to think that Western tourists would just love to sit on a stuffed boat full of tourists and ‘enjoy’ a backwater cruise, as if they wouldn’t find backwaters anywhere else! In India people seem to categorise tourists into two - budget backpackers, or ‘rich’ tourists. They don’t seem to realise that most tourists lie in between these two categories. Oh and tour guides like the one here should be just, sitting at home I guess.

I feel that you were SCAMMED by the Alleppey Backwaters Cruise operator.
The boat ride was super slow and you weren't taken to some of the exotic places of Alleppey
3 things...location,package and guide...cruise is provided at different points in alapuzha...the hotel in which you stay may offer this service,or even some farms you visit..all of them does cruise but covers different location 🤷..or in some lucky and rare cases..the locals you meet might offer good ones with awesome view that even the most costly cruise package won't provide...that's why pre-booking stuff without a research is as good as shit..if one shows the attitude of just came for the sake of it..that is what you can expect in return..money is not the issue..you need to go out meet people...and tell them what you expect to experiance...ask any local kid or teenager you find on road..the best guides..
I feel like same. Haven't seen real beauty of Alleppey anywhere in this video. Hope you guys are not paid a lot for this Joke🤦🏻♂️
Bro how much will they charge for this exotic ride?
A bunch of exploiters 😞
I feel the same..... Why oru people do this to guests .......
That balloon guy is real awsome he should be on youtube!
I love this guys full aspergers and just hilariously unintentional rudeness. It's amazing he doesn't get punched out, so fun to watch. You're a legend Dale.
A lot of love with respect from kochin Kerala.. thank you brother
You didn't get proper tour package brother.
The older couple is Soo sweet!!
Thank you hundred times my friend for your nice recommendation about my little country Srilanka. I never miss your videos. It's sure enjoyment.
Man, am I glad I came across your channel!
This is a very old one! Love all your videos, dont stop being you! Our man is the top dog of travelling videos!

🇮🇳
Kerala😍✌️👍🔥
I think Dale the only guy who was hearing the guide's instructions clearly🙌
Glad to see the content still flowing 😃
Greetings from a vlogger stuck in Eastern Europe ✌
Damn, i really need to learn some balloon tricks! They were actually a really cool couple despite the elephant pants 😂 great video as always dale
Even the boat man knows more science than I know..I think he should be sitting in the exam hall instead of me
🙈🤣
🤣🤣🤣
Wow dale that that foreigner doing the balloons trick is finally awesome. We are enjoying that vlog
Lots of love from India .Wellcome you brother
i would had snoozed off listening to the guide...
me too... but all of a sudden he got interesting when he did the string spinning thing
ok
exactly... he's just one bloody scamster
"How did you get up there?"
Dale - "I climbed" (!)
Sarcasm on point 😂😂
One like for that American dude 😂 he's incredible
@@Sniperboy5551I’ll go with you 😂
What an awesome couple!! He reminds me of my T.M. teacher here in the states, binge watching all of your videos Dale! You are the best! Peace
Loved our trip! We just filmed our own backwater cruise too 🎉
Hey Dale...you mentioned about the genuinity of most Sri Lankans that you've met. As an aside,...in my opinion, you got the same thing outta' your new friend; the balloon guy (and his wife). He TRULY looked like he was having a blast, and took pleasure in trying to make other people smile/be happy!! You may have heard an 'ole expression (to the effect of): good, attracts good!
Great video - I'm sure Allynn has brought a lot of smiles to the faces of the kids he meets!
Hey Dale, I hope you enjoyed your time in India.
Love from India🇮🇳🖤
the most interesting in that cruise that happen is..that UNCLE performing balloon trick..love his energy and his way of speaking..i hope he is doing well
The best part of the video was the American guy who showed some magic with balloons
Really loved that moment as he captured all my attention ❤
Reminded of old days when I was a kid wherein magician used to show some tricks and i used to get amazed how did he really do it
Fab Vid Dale, loved the journey you was on, not just the backwaters, but the entertaining American couple too, that guy certainly knew how to handle a ballon or two, was a bonus for us all. Thank you kindly for sharing the wonderful backwaters of Kerela and it’s beauty and hospitality. ❤️ Kerela. 🙏
Peace & love to all in India.🙏

@sasanka ghosh Same thought lol
Lmao, this guide made me fall asleep during the video, so I had to go back and struggle through his lecture twice 😂😂
Rest in peace Colin we shall remember u 🙏 🤣🤣🤣
@Allynn Gooen simply extraordinary couple you are. I was literally falling asleep due to the 2 bit effort this tour company put in (no offense Dale) and then you two come along into the picture and suddenly it is a masterpiece. Thank you and namaste :)
Loved the elderly lady's eating skills with her hand. Clumsy, yet lovely for trying her best.
I reaallyyyyyy love the vibe of the man wearing rainbow tie-diy !!! He made sure to learn important things bout the culture before coming to my beautiful state 🥰

I like your vlogs its like as if I myself going through this places(that feeling when we go to a new strange place where we don't belong, being cautious,at the same time enjoying with some obstacle ,being health conscious ),beautifully expressing the instant thoughts, the urge to experience the atmost ,overall this makes great vlog keep going .... Keep it up.... Stay safe....
