      betul mas, kita bersyukur bisa makan dengan murah. Tapi sayangnya standar gaji justru hanya distandarkan dengan makan. Sementara kebutuhan sandang dan papan semuanya muahal. Dari mulai baju ori, sepatu ori, rumah, kendaraan, barang elektronik, dll semua kita harus beli dengan harga Internasional via gaji regional. 🤣

      Indonesian working in Vietnam here. Vietnam street food is also my favorite! Bún Cá, Cơm Tấm and Bánh Mì are my go to meal. Later when you have a chance to visit Indonesia, please try Soto Ayam, Martabak Telor and Nasi Padang for ultimate Indonesian experience. Street food is always the best!

    Dale, you're one of the best foreign travel vlogger that i know, especially in Indonesia. I respect your bravery to do the vlog alone, talking with locals even though you mainly speak in English (with thick accent), and also avoiding any tourist trap that comes in your way as much as you can. I'm glad that you are able to meet someone that can speak decent English.     I visited Java from the UK at the end of last year from your videos Dale and went to Surabaya and meet this guy too! Such a great guy. I went Surabaya to visit Mount Bromo, it was incredible Dale! Would highly recommend. It was my highlight of two months in Indonesia and Philippines!! Take care lad

    Dale, one thing to know about Martabak pricing:
    Higher price means more egg portion included, while the martabak size will relatively be the same for every price. The one you ordered, 15k, gave you the least amount of egg.
    Thats it. 😁

      True, and the kind of egg you'll get. The chicken egg is the cheapest, duck egg normally more expensive than the chicken egg. While the crocodile egg is the most fancy one.

    Saya menyukai bapak yg berpeci putih ini karena bisa menjadi guard atau pemandu wisata selain sebagai penjual dan kemampuannya berbahasa asing jadi ngomongnya bisa nyambung dan bisa mengenalkan budaya kuliner Indonesia kepada turis asing,kalau disetiap daerah ada orang seperti bapak ini mungkin tradisi dan budaya kuliner beberapa daerah Indonesia cepat dikenal dunia.

    33:42, this is the unique of our people.. the solidarity of the street vendors is very strong, they are helping each others.. when one person leave his stall for peeing, the other guy can guide his stall and even serve the customer whatever they sell 😁

    the street vendor was so humble and a good guy, world needs more people like him, the egg food is similar to moglai in kolkata, it is tasty. I also prefer street side foods than fancy restaurants, people are more friendly at the street stalls

Ada Perguruan Tinggi top juga di Sby belum lagi keluarga Chindo Sby itu hampir rata2 sekolahin anaknya ke Australia, US, atau Singapore jadi kl jalan ke Mall ya lumrah dgr org cas cis cus bahasa Inggris. Meski medok suroboyoannya ttp keliatan kaya Chateez 😂😂

      Indonesia has 2 kind of Martabak..;
      1). Martabak Manis (sweety) made of dough like Pancake.
      2) Martabak Telur (eggs) as seen on this video.
      Both usually are sold by the same Sellers.
      All foreigners/tourist like those both items, and the locals as well.

    I'm from Semarang, and everytime i visit Surabaya, having fried duck is a must. They have those dark spice things that make Fried Duck in Surabaya is definetely the best. Glad you enjoy it..

    Surabaya has a lot of legendary street food that you must try. Many traditions and cultures are met there. It's pretty much simillar to Jakarta, because it's 2nd biggest city in Indonesia. So enjoy your stays!

    Baru kemarin ke Surabaya..Sore jam 5 bela2in kesini buat liat Mr. Faiz sayang nya stall nya sedang tidak jualan..tapi ketemu stall bebeknya tapi sayang tinggal ayam aja karena saking laris nya..jadi cobain ayamnya aja dan ternyata ayam nya Enak juga lhooo..jangan lupa cobain guys

    The condiment you missed to eat with the martabak was actually pickled cucumber (knowing you don't like pickle, you'll like this one since it's just a bit sour), it's supposed to be a palate cleanser for the greasy martabak, they compliment each other when eaten together! And if you choose the expensive martabak you'll get more special and thick martabak with the ground beef and duck eggs. (The cheap one usually using chicken eggs)
