  • " 8 WEEKS in 30 MINUTES - Electrical Wiring Works in Russia. (Connecting The Gas Generator into the House Main Electrical Panel)"
Due to frequent power outages, the task was to make backup power at home. The task was to integrate a gasoline generator into the main electrical panel of the house. I laid a separate line of wires from the generator to the house. I made a ground loop in order to ground zero from the generator so that the output has a separate phase and a separate zero. (A separate phase and a separate zero are needed since the house has phase-dependent equipment.) In order for the electric current to be sinusoidal, I connected a 10 kilowatt inverter voltage regulator, it stabilizes the output voltage in the region of 220 volts, has protection against power surges and impulse surges from thunderstorms. Additional voltage monitoring relay is installed in the electric switchboard itself, each room is protected by an individual RCD for 30 MilliAmps. Switching between the city electrical network and the gasoline generator is carried out through a three-way switch. Each room has a minimum of 3 separate lines: a line for lighting, a line for sockets and a line for air conditioning. The lighting lines are protected by 10 Amp circuit breakers, the outlet line and the air conditioning line are protected by 16 Amp circuit breakers. The oven line is protected by a 20 amp circuit breaker. Cables for light have a cross section of 1.5 square millimeters. Cables for sockets have a cross section of 2.5 square millimeters. The cable for the oven has a cross section of 4 square millimeters. In the USA, the markings for electrical wires are different than those that I used. An approximate analogue of the cables that I used is NUM 12-14 AVG
About the prices for such work. If I had hired a special company to do this, they would have asked for $350-$500 for it. It is expensive for me, if we live economically and do not buy expensive things, then on $500 we can live for a whole month, buy groceries, household goods, and still have some left to pay utility bills. So I bought all the necessary components and did all the work myself. Besides, no less important is that every time people do something theirself, they got real experience, information and skills. So do I
PS: Many thanks 🙏🙏🙏🙏 to everyone who sent me tools for electrical installation, they are great! We don’t have such convenient and high-quality tools for sale, it’s a pleasure to work with them🙌😘

My husband has been a master electrician for 1972. I have worked under his license for 2 decades. I was amazed to see the differences between Russian and American electrical systems.. Every thing from the busbar, how your wires are crimped, to the sub panel are so different. This is something people don't think about. I'll have to watch this several times. Thanks Mister Dan!

Dan...that was so entertaining and I'm a 65 year old female in Ottawa, Canada. Like Sati I was always watching my Dad work. He had an inventor kind of mind. He taught me how to strip wire, sauder and make a electrical buzzer with a big battery for my science project when I was 10 years old. One of the first videos I remember of yours was when you were putting in the septic tank. Please show us more of your yard and plants and what you've done so far. I don't know what to be more impressed about. Your electrical work or your video. Superb!

That's a nice looking installation. That 10kW inverter would cost between $2000- $4000 here but it will do a good job delivering low distortion sine wave power. I use a 7kW inverter type generator with about 1% total harmonic distortion which is lower than the 3% THD coming from the power grid. It cost around $700 USD. I'm able to meet most of my needs with it with the exception of air conditioning. Fortunately, power outages are not frequent where I live. Many US households now have automatic backup generators powered by natural gas from the utility company. Those start automatically and come on line when the power fails. Typical 22kW systems installed start around $10000 in my area.

My man Dan here looks like he knows his way around a home Depot 🤗.
I'm curious what your trade is. I enjoy the care that comes with the pride in a man's work. All so damn clean. Much love in that respect. Much love to your family, from the US of A

Beautiful work, I have done my fair share, event tho it is not my profession. Pretty drastic differences there and here in the US. But am familiar with a lot of the stuff you use, having messed with different automation/machinery etc. You know, I know they're out there, but you meet very few people of my generation/younger that have any trade skills. I remember how blown away I was at how shoddy a lot of construction is when I first came into the adult workforce. So I have a lot of appreciation for those who know how to do things and put in the work. Thanks for sharing.

Only being familiar with American panels, I was slightly lost with the layout but my word was that install CLEAN. I used to run internet cables for a hospital and my teacher hammered home making it look clean and this reminded me of that.

    Wow,
This is your best video yet. You did a great job wiring.
After retiring from the US Navy, I did that type of electrical fabrication for several years while working for General Electric (GE).
    I love your videos..!

I don't know how I missed this before. You do fine work. There are some things that you do that are different from USA NEC code, but the over all panel building and wiring looked great! I especially like you all using DIN rail with standoffs to be able to run wires behind and through - different style of breaker than a regular house panel here in the US, but very cool. We do use those in industrial panels, and the exact same ones, I might add!
"Neat and Workmanlike" - is how the NEC describes it - you nailed that.

I’m truly impressed. Wonderful job. I would never have tried doing that for sure. Obviously you have some knowledge of electricity. Beautiful clean workmanship with all the breakers and wiring labelled properly. I’m guessing you have frequent electricity failures to have put in a backup generator to restore power. Nicely done Dan and family members.👍👍🇨🇦

Hi Dear! It's very simple, when a person doesn't have the money to pay other workers to do something, you have to learn to do it yourself. I studied from videos from the Internet, today you can learn almost everything yourself, it will be more effective than spending 5 years at the university.

Your electric panel is different than what we use here in the US for houses. Your electric panel is very similar to ones found on large equipment in factory's here breakers mounted on Din rails. Nice job on your installation.
