I hate alway seeing negative things between American and Russia on tv and the internet. When it comes right down to it both people just want to live a positive life and be able to provide for our families. If our governments would just move on from the past we could work things out. I wish you and your family the best, when we slow down and look at our lives they are very similar. God bless you all

So true. Both our governments could do better on human rights. The ordinary person just wants to live in peace and get help when needed. We all need to clean up the planet very fast. This garden is beautiful.

First, we are conditioned by social media to think that our way is the right way and anyone who disagrees is our enemy. Once we are conditioned and compliant the government comes in and employs the same 'Divide And Conquer' tactics that have been working for millenia
We the people need to remember that we can disagree and still be friends.

My grandma(Elsie Ochs) died in April 2021 at age 104. She shared many words of wisdom with me. She was raised on a farm
Her daddy always said, "Never sell your land. Sell any thing else to get by. But never sell your land. You take care of your land and it will take care of you!" I would never have guessed that the best documentary I ever saw would be a documentary about Suzie’s childhood home and the way her daddy lives. The sights and sounds of his land were just beautiful. The sound of the swing and the sound of the smoker when you opened it were just incredible. Truly a beautiful film. @@SamsRussianAdventures During quarantine last Spring, I started viewing UA-cam for info on Covid, and noticed there was a video about "Mega Super Store" in Russia, that piqued my interest because it looked like a Sam's or Costco here in US. I clicked on it, and was introduced to Dan and Susie who were "adorable" of course; and I was hooked on life in Russia, and how much alike we all are. And from there I found Russian Yeah and Russian Plus. I guess the quarantine gave me the time to explore UA-cam, which I had never done before. "I wish we could express ourselves freely" What are you talking about? You already can. You can say whatever you want, but there will be social consequences for certain things and that's the right thing to do. Being racist, sexist, homophobic/transphobic, discriminatory... That's not acceptable anymore. We don't want people inciting hate or violence. Or forcing religion on people. Or refusing people their human/civil rights. Or spreading misinformation.
You're not living in "distopian times". You're on a PC/mobile phone, connected to the internet, which I presume you're able to pay for because you have a job or parents that have a job, so you have an address which means you have a roof over your head, and are able to pay your taxes, rent, bills, etc. You're literally speaking from privilege... @@SamsRussianAdventures Really like your videos Sam, in my opinion (just my two cents not to be taken to seriously, please do not read further if you have thin skin and do not take criticism well) Dan's videos (both thumbnail and content) give off a wholesome and fun vibe while your videos give off a more water type of vibe. Good, nutritious, but not very flavorful.
Your videos of you exploring a town with your friends or just consistently interacting with the locals are a lot more fun and a lot more inviting to click on especially if they are featured in the thumbnail. The thumbnails where it's just you and some random road or building in the background are not very inviting while the thumbnails with just a building and some title on them are the least inviting. They make it look like it's going to be a very boring and long video.
As I mentioned earlier I really like your content that features you interacting with your partner/friends/locals especially since you're such a friendly sociable guy. Wholesome and fun! More homeboy chillin Russia kickin' it with the homies and less tour guide in Russia *imo* 🤷‍♀️
Edit: Example, "Life in my Russian Village | Englishman in Russia Sorry I've been busy" -- Really interesting and great video horrible thumbnail.

After watching the yeah russia channel, I understood that people watch her channel because of her, not because they want to see Russia. Russia just happens to be the place that Natasha lives in. I will take your advice onboard and I will change my thumbnails. I have tried many different scenarios on my videos but I can't say that I have had any real success with a particular strategy. Often my best videos get the least views and my worst get the most!!!!! Some popular titles get almost no views and unfortunately the most popular videos are those which either have a title about Russian girls or have a girl on the cover. Please Thank Susie's family for being so kind to share their beautiful country life with us. I grew up in the country in Southern Ohio. My family grew most of our food like your father does. We canned( preserved our food in sealed glass jars) so that we would have food all year round. I still have my own garden and can my tomatoes. This has been a great year for everyone's tomatoes. My tomatoes are huge like your father in laws. I loved seeing those beets too. I love to eat pickled beets. I don't have enough garden space to grown them where I live now. I enjoyed seeing all the handcrafted baskets and structures Susie's father made. What kind of wood did he use? Willow trees? My parents who grew up in the country saved parts, screws, bolts, metals, etc. They grew up in the depression where no one had money to buy new things and they just had to fix what they had and hope it kept working. That's why people gardened too. The Pandemic has reminded all of us here in the USA that we need to go back to raising our own foods and preparing for alternate sources of heat in the winter time. And now we need to worry about alternate sources of water and ways to stay cool from the heat.
Your nieces are all such lovely girls. It was lovely to meet Susie's sister too. It was good to see the beauty of nature and family come together. I loved that field of sunflowers you drove by. Suzie's parents are "Old School" and know the value of farm life and how one can live from the Earth! You are so right in your thoughts as to how people will survive in the face of tragedy or hard times. The knowledge that Suzie's parents have should not be lost with them! Learn from them and teach Seti these things too. You may not have time for a garden each year but if times are tough, you will be able to grow your own things! Knowledge is power! When we are dependent on someone else to provide for our daily needs, such as food, we become so removed from the labor of living. Also, the handy work of weaving that Suzie's father does is amazing! My parents provided for us but they also taught us the value in hard work and quality work! We are, as a family where we are today because we all worked together to make a great life! This is a very sensitive video. I know the value in growing your own food and living away from big cities. Thank you for your touching storytelling ... I'm so happy I found your channel. Devastated with what's happening right now. Love from Australia is 🕊

I rewatch these videos now, and I remember thinking, it's so peaceful there, why would you ever be worried about national unrest.......
Now, in March 2022, I am thinking, Suzy's dad is a REAL man. Good on him, not forsaking the land. Good on you Dan, for how much you love nature and self dependence. 💜🙏💙 Always praying for your whole family.

Suzy's father did a great job and is a good gardener. Very interesting to see. Dan stop being so hard on yourself with your English. You speak very well. Our families are much alike as most parents live to help their adult children. It makes us feel needed. Hello from Texas.

Heirloom tomatoes-they look really strange but taste the best! Save the seeds for planting next year. This reminds me of both my grandparent's farms where they grew most everything they ate.

When I was a kid (1950s) it wasn't unusual to bite into a store bought apple and find a worm inside, same with fresh corn, but now people will sue the store if they find anything in their produce, so in order to sell bug free produce you have to spray it with chemicals.
In Spanish we always called the little wooden shed in the back yard a "cuartito."

Dan, I was born and raised in South Carolina in the country, and Susie's parents' home reminds me of my home and childhood. I am now 81 years old and love your videos and love to watch you, Susie, and Sati. That baby is too cute for words. Stay positive, stay safe and God Bless you and your entire family.

This is the best video yet. Maybe next time you get together you could get the sisters to tell a bit about what their life is like. Loved the shots driving across country. My grandparents had a large garden too and you are right ... the could handle life without all of the modern technology ... that's the way they grew up!! And very impressed with all of the caning made by your father-in-law. Please thank your in-laws for sharing a peek into their life.

Susie's parents and my Grandparents who raised me, are the same. I am beginning to wonder if they have the same heritage, although our DNA shows no bloodlines from your Country. We always grew enough food for all their sons and families. Grandpa weaved his own baskets too! He made everything by hand that he needed most of the time. Thanks for sharing this video and please tell Susie's parents how proud I am to see them doing the same things we use to do here.
