Miło słyszeć że tam daleko sa ludzie ktorzy sa dumni z Polskich korzeni:-)W dzisiejszych czasach dużo Polaków pluje na Polskę. Pozdrawiam serdecznie. Emilia
@Jacques S You should be proud of her, my friend! She is every bit as good as all of the hype which precedes her, and then some!!! Fell head over heels for her sound 30 + years ago, slightly ahead of my marriage date. That made it all even better! God bless you, as well as Basia and her crew along with the nation of Poland!
Dobry pomysł i dobry wybór. Ryzyko jest takie, że ten piękny kawałek może się zacząć źle kojarzyć i któregoś dnia znudzić. Już tak miałem z niektórymi kawałkami, które bardzo lubiłem.
Its one of the them songs like Bill Withers Lovely Day, Spiro Gyro Morning dance, John Coltrane a love supreme, and Herb Alpert Rise to get your day started, like audio caffeine!!!
Basia was (is) a force to wreck with. I saw her in person -along with Peter While and Spyro Gyra-. Her voice sounded 10 times better and more powerful! A solid talent all around.
Love the late 80’s Sophistipop. Hope that Basia gets a percentage of the licensing royalties for this song. Over the last 35 years I’ve probably heard it in malls, stores, airports and elevators many times.
Yes, contemporary music lacks a coherent melody. That's why people like older music: it had a melody and you could hum the song. That's the gift of melody: hummable music!
This song brings me back to when I was first barely starting to appreciate music. I can't believe I'd forgotten about this song I can remember hearing and digging on the radio what seems like an eternity ago!!
My dad had Time & Tide and Matt Bianco's Whose Side Are You On on Cassette when i was a kid and would play them all the time. I'm grateful that he did, since I'm a huge fan of both of them and have most if not all of their albums. Thanks Dad!
This song as released in the 80s is a total masterpiece -- perfection in vocals, production, mix... so far above the standard that it took millions by surprise when they first heard it and remains lodged in their psyche to this day as a beacon of style, class, and mysterious positive energy. Many the troubled souls comforted and encouraged when this song found them in the late 80s...
@@raymondasay5207Agreed. Here in Poland we had no idea how big she was at the time. Everyone knew she had quite a success in the UK, Japan and the US, but I for instance had no clue she performed on Carson, Arsenio and Letterman until very recently when I saw those clips here on YT.
I can't forget Basia, in the 80s and 90s She mesmerised me with her voice and songs, such a good singer! and coming from Poland was an additional interesting thing for me
Saw her live at the Majestic in Dallas the same day that "Time and Tide" was certified gold. This was what she opened with. Packed house, scalping tickets outside. The look of shock on her face when she walked out onstage was golden. A co-worker had seen her a few weeks ago while vacation in New York and he'd said there were a lot of vacant seats. I believe she performed every song on the album, and the audience sang along to each one. She also performed some from the upcoming "London, Warsaw, New York" ("Baby You're Mine," "Best Friend," and "Until You Come Back To Me").
Must add a voice to this.Basia voice and sound is sooo beautifull and the world is a better place because of the great sounds of the great women in music.
I scrolled up on this by accident, and have listened to this song like 14 times back to back....I remember Basia from the late 80's and totally forgotton about her....such ashame she wasn't bigger.....it's like Madonna, Gloria Estefan , and Sade & Swing out sister all rolled into one.....such a beautiful voice
In the late 80s there were so many talented British and European bands who effortlessly combined jazz, pop, dance, soul, rock in one. In one single or a 10-track album there was so much creativity and soul. Where did it go? Melody, rhythm, solos, upliftment, beauty and fun!
Today is the first time I have listened to your music. My son sent it to my SPOTIFY! You have a great voice and the music is really great. I came here(youtube) to dee if I could find a video wit you in it. Pretty!
I ADORE this woman! Her latest, "Butterflies" is every bit as great as the early stuff but with a slightly different vibe. I'll buy anything Basia puts out.
Basia Trzetrzelewska was probably one of the few women who introduced perfect pitch before we even realized that this existed and what this was. What a musical miracle and a fairytale come true.... That's why we love.... you! It's gonna be a new day for all of us!
Love this 2024 ❤❤❤
This song helped me through some tough times when it came out. It is so beautiful and uplifting! 😄😄❤️👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼💪🏻
What's hapenned then? 😮
Saved me too , brother
I would've loved to see Basia, Swing Out Sister, and Sade together back in those days.

Imagine the price of that tix!
You're asking for too much !! I'm just saying.....
Jesus, you named pretty much my three all time favorite female singers....
All three are STILL at the top of their abilities. I've been watching online jam sessions by Swing Out Sister recently, this past year.
Real music of the 80's.... still enjoying it in 2024...
She's great! ❤
Still love this lady. I love her style.
For years and years I thought this was Swing Out sister.
Thank God for Smooth Jazz radio stations back in the day, they played her music more than the mainstream radio stations did. 📻
Fell in love with this lady when she first made the scene. An amazing voice. Thank you Basia for sharing of yourself all these years❤
Love her 😊❤jar discovered her recently. She is a Gem 💎✈️❤️😊
The song got me through a terrible period in my life in 2013. With this song and prayer I starting looking forward to a new life and new me 😊

Still love this song 2023.
Seems like we need it more NOW 😉
I flew to San Francisco 13 years ago to see Basia at Bimbo's 365 Club. She was even better live. 😍
I was there too! 10/1/11!
Beautiful song from a beautiful lady
I have loved Basia since 83. I will always love her. She has a beautiful voice and is very, very talented.
She is beautiful with such a sultry voice. It is good to see and hear someone from Poland. I am of Polish heritage and I am very proud of it!

One of the best songs from the 1980s. A true classic. I use it every day as a wake up song on my smart phone. A great, positive message to wake up to.
You gave me an idea )

And needed now more than ever.
That makes for a good alternate to my regular "The Garden" by RUSH.
Its one of the them songs like Bill Withers Lovely Day, Spiro Gyro Morning dance, John Coltrane a love supreme, and Herb Alpert Rise to get your day started, like audio caffeine!!!
Very nice song.
I love Basia's voice and the vibe.
One of my favorite song of the 80's.

Happy 67th Birthday Basia!(Born September 30, 1954)😃🥳🎂🎉🎊🎈🎁🍾🥂💘🌷🌹💐🎀👍👏🙌
It is nice to hear this tropical vibe. It warms you up in the middle of winter.

Who would not like this music? This is absolutely stunning!!!
Time and Tide was/is a Monster Album

Unique Voice, Positive and uplifting message that all of us need these days.
I used to bartend at an island restaurant/hotel. During lunch, this album was played on a loop. Everyday.
I love..love...love..BASIA...I own all of her CDs...she is incredible
You should get all the vinyls too. They sound even better

A song that should be played every New Year's Day!
I heard this song for the first time in the fall of 1989. Loved it then, love it now.
Saw her in concert at Long Island University in 1989. Thank you, Basia for helping me get lucky that night. 😊
I got her CD recently at a local used store for a dollar. The CD was a great listen. It’s the best dollar I’ve spent in a while.
My dad had Time & Tide and Matt Bianco's Whose Side Are You On on Cassette when i was a kid and would play them all the time. I'm grateful that he did, since I'm a huge fan of both of them and have most if not all of their albums. Thanks Dad!

OK folks, this is my SECOND favorite song of ALL TIME. Stairway To Heaven being number one.

You're so right !!
And an uplifting lyric that actually means something!
So true!
I love the joyfulness in her voice, in all her songs - how she plays around with it within the melody!
Her first two albums were tour de forces.
Basia's elegance and class is undeniable, what a lovely and beautiful voice, I love her.
To this day she sounds fantastic! Voice so clear and powerful yet reeks of class!
Ditto!!!

Basia was the best. Completely unique. Loved everything she did. I miss her.
My favorite Basia song. ♥️🇵🇱♥️
One of the best female singers ever....❤😊
My favorite Basia song too. It didn’t make the top 40 in 1987 but it definitely should have!
