Love seeing your content from a basher perspective!! Have gained much knowledge from you for my crawler applications!! I’m a Maxx fanatic myself, great tips all of which I’ve utilized as on my Maxxs. A small tip from myself, if you wanna get some crazy flip speed (movement on air) I recommend E Revo 2.0 wheels and tires, this further widens the stance helps you throttle into curves with confidence, they do balloon a bit. Add-on for body upgrade mention, “Indestructible” bodies are amazing and worth their weight in gold! Q: What gearing do you recommend from your running experience? I’m geared down (20/54) for my true bashing maxx and like it but tend to strip gears (trans and diffs) over time mostly from self-righting.
if you are breaking differential gears, the bulkhead will be ripped somewhere making it flex when spinning fast and then the gears will rub and break, the 20/54 gearing won't be the problem, I have had it too for a long time and now I got to 26/50 with the trencher LPs
I just bought a maxx v2. It's awesome. I did notice my engine fan never ran on my first run. Is the engine fan supposed to run all the time like the esc fan?
I had to put heavier weight shock oil for sending. I use 80K mixed in the front and 60K in the front. Sends are dampened well. When stock, it would bounce like crazy on landings.
Thanks for the video. Related to the tires, I guess an adapter is needed, right? Which one? Furthermore, once mounted they have some impact on the steering? A setting is needed? Thanks
Great video! I had to replace the Sledgehammer tires on my Maxx V2 after shredding two of them almost immediately after purchase. Very disappointing and this was on 3S, not 4S. I replaced them with Traxxas #8972R and they held up OK, but weren't heavy enough to do the self-righting feature as Francis mentions. I finally settled on Pro-LineTrencher HP belted tires and they are very good. Expensive, but good.
Hello, great video. Few questions...on those Arma Dboots you run... For something that tall, what gearing would you recommend for the stock 4S setup the truck comes with? I'm afraid to run tires that tall due to the less-than favorable quality of the traxxas ESC that yields the red lights of death all too common to a lot of people. Fortunately enough for me, I had my truck for almost two years before that happened but I think that might be due to only running the stock 5.25 inch tall Rugged Maxx tires over 95% of the time that Ive driven the truck. A few times I ran my 5.75" Traxxas Talons and only once did I run my 6.4 inch Traxxas Talon EXT tires which are stock on the 10th scale E Revo 2.0 VXL(which I dont have). I bought those for my Revo 3.3 nitro that I'm currently converting to brushless LiPo. Also, being that the tires you run are real similar to the ProLine Badlands, do those DBoots sport a little harder rubber? I also have a set of the Proline Badlands but they are the smaller, 5.85" skinnier versions of the taller, fatter Badlands. Being that mine are pretty soft rubber, I try to only run those on dirt as to not wear them out too fast and for everything else, I run the stock tires. Thanks.
Just got my in v2 2 days ago I just love it its so much fun and realy takes a beating Good Video Will be looking to buy some of the upgrades in the future
Great video Francis, I’d like to see a nice upgrade video like this for the e revo! it really doesn’t get enough love. After the aluminum chassis brace and some 85mm limiting straps it’s pretty damn tough! Maybe not maxx tough but it can survive some pretty rough jumps and soaks up rough choppy terrain like a beast. If you lower the suspension all the way it handles and slides really well too. I’d like to see if you can find a fix for the pivot balls (other than glue or JBweld 😅) maybe a grub screw in the arms? RPM arms?
I purchased the stronger body, and it was actually less durable for me. It is thicker, but it can crack faster. I killed the body like in 2 runs and few bad landings. Wth old body, it would just bent and stay ugly or something, but the thicker body just cracked completely. Was it just bad luck ? How does it work for others ?
Just reinforce the stock one with fiberglass, it's cheap and comes in kit form at any hardware store, you can literally sit on it with your knee and doesn't crack one bit
It's gorgeous, I love the color!! You know there's a new FMS that just came out, the 1950 Ford F1. It is called "MAGNUM SCALER 1:18 FMS - ROC11814". I just bought one it is beautiful.
Completely stock, this is a 55mph vechile out of the box not 45mph. At least that is what I have hit with it. I suspect even faster but the stock tires make it tough to hold top speed for that long but 55 mph with the v2 for sure.
Love your videos but the maxx is far from the best! Its extremely over priced you have to upgrade the crap out of it! Not to mention their electronics are garbage! For what traxxas charges for their junk you shouldnt have to upgrade anything! I’ve owned a couple traxxas cars and the repairs and upgrades almost doubled the price of the car! Never again will i own one
Sorry Francis- but these episodes on bashers are 🥱🥱 bring back scale builds, and whatever your buddies are working on. That one dude with the little bronco too. Cheers ☕️☕️

Great advice buddy. For gearing, mine is still stock. I’m not quite sure what that is.
@@RCReviewChannel no worries appreciate the response! Maybe content for the future 😁
23/50

Great vid , I upgraded to the strap system and kept popping straps . Now I'm back to the stock battery tray
what servohorn should one be looking for so it will be right angle and all?
number on spring for servosaver?

Hi, where did you get that orange body? I'm looking for that for a slash 4x4
Francis, on my Traxxas Maxx V2, do I need a servo adapter for an off brand named servo?
My goodness that orange POPS out!!! Very nice 😎

There's a lot off good tips in this video. Thanks for the updates.
Right on you are welcome. These are the best upgrades that we’ve tried

R these tires u mention off the 4s arrma or the 6s line up arrmas
Just got my in v2 2 days ago
I just love it its so much fun and realy takes a beating
Good Video
Will be looking to buy some of the upgrades in the future
Great Video, did you need to purchase any extra links or mounting hardware for the steering Servo?
I have an old stock xmaxx esc in mine. Bolted right in and runs fine on 4s. Not a fan of traxxas esc’s but I had it in my spare parts.
Yeah, that will work for sure. I believe Auto flipped only works with Traxxas ESC’s
I don’t use traxxas radio gear so I’m in charge of auto flip…lol easy with the lp backflips
@@RCReviewChannel I have a spectrum 160 amp in my Maxx v2 it still Self right Just a heads up
Need some guide on shock springs
Nice video and tips about the Max! Loved watching your video
Thanks so much!
@@RCReviewChannel I would like to buy some blue suspension arms for my V2 but their like 50 dollars;(
Really appreciate and enjoy watching your good videos, unlike some of the peeps who recommend all the bolt on doodads! :)
Ha! Perfect timing! I just bought one yesterday!
Oh man, run it stock first. So amazing. 4s battery?

how did you get it painted like that can you do a video

Hi can u give me the spec of the 6S ESC!? Pls!!!
Are those 3.8 tires? If so any heat issues?
Are those the 4s backflips or 6s?

@@Cormano980 dude that's the best body mod ever(revived 2 body's)....drywall tape and shoegoo works but totally forgot about fiberglass thank you!!

How reliable is the vxl6 ?

Just noticed the clear windows
I love my Maxx.
Between X-maxx and Losi DB XLE 2.0...which one would you recommend?
My requirement is fun and speed and should be durable
should do a head to head with arrma 4S V2
4s is pretty fast, then you have 6s 😬 I ran 8s once now but one 4s broke, it rips, it rips for sure
The camera doesn’t do justice they’re big
Thought that when I opened mine, outcast 4s is big for a 1/10 to
My fav too!👊🔥
So good box stock or even better with mods.
Just ordered them tires - Cant wait- Stock sledge hammer tires are not that durable and lose tread fast.
