In this video I put the new JConcepts Fling Kings on the Traxxas Maxx. These tires are exactly what this thing needs.

Perfect tires for sand, dirt and monster truck look. I just ordered some today for my Everest 10. Mainly just to have fun. With low gearing and gentle landings it might survive. They sure are cool looking tires. If they destroy my E10 I'll hang on to them as a motivation to get the Losi LMT. Hopefully . ✌

I noticed the tires are available in two different compounds. The premounted tires are in the softer compound and are on sale. Great video!!!!! Thanks for taking a hit to make the video! haha

I was surprised your axles lasted as long as they did! I have a feeling part of the reason your not rolling it when turning is because the stock servo saver is so soft that the larger tires are causing the servo saver to give way when under load and cornering. I know mine had that really bad with the widemaxx and 8671 wheels with backflip lp's on them. It was so bad that I couldn't stand near the jump I was hitting because it would just veer off on it's own when it hit the face of the jumps. Ended up with the treal servo saver, traxxas "tubes" for steering and a promodeler servo. Now it turns when I want it to!
I thought about getting a set of jconcepts wheels/tires for my slashpede, but never did. Now that I have a set of sledghammers on it, I'm pretty happy.

Any other truck's days over at 9:43. Gotta love the Maxx for durability. Glad you found a good combo, Sledgehammers weren't a major upgrade IMO.
My Nero used to shrug off landings like that without a problem. That truck was an absolute tank.

I kept breaking drive shafts when I upgraded to a bigger wheel. The steel cvd fixed that.

Any recommendations on what gearing to run on the Maxx v2 with big tires? I mean, there decent sized.
Yep, Traxxas should put a 3.8 tires out of the box on the v1 or v2 with widemaxx.
@outsourcedrc sweet mod! I'm not even sure that steel shafts could've survived being clipped by that light pole! If you watch carefully you can see that wheel clips the pole right after the Xmaxx loses control while still traveling fast with a lot of momentum behind it.
The tire came off before it hit the pole. You can use your < and > keys to move frame by frame. The wheel was off before it got to the pole.

That's why I face the camera that way lol
My worry would be the added stress those tires and wheels put on the drivetrain and steering servo.
That's why I'm upgrading the drive train.

@@jessegames6714 yes I’m pretty sure the inside diameter is 3.8 or at least close but either way 4s backflips fit both rigs so should fit no problem

They work but be harder on the diffs I often run the LPS backflips to go hard these are fun to tool around
It would be cool if you bought the maxx v2 and made a video comparing the two Maxxs
I'm not spending the money on one just for that. Maybe someone will loan me one.
Heed my warning. Running them puts you at risk of burning the stock esc and reciver up. I ran them on mine and the extra stress was just to much.
Oh, so you're the guy who keeps buying up all the JConcepts wheels. Well, now I have someone to thank for having to stick my SMT10 on 1/10th scale cinderblocks. :P

how did you adpt- rims to fit the maxx . rims have a hex and maxx has a cloverleaf
They just mount right up. You can put normal hex shaped Wheels on the Maxx

Nice tires! Can you try out the rpm extra long rod ends for the maxx? It should make the maxx even less bouncy.

@@outsourcedrc they say the maxx has a lot of travel left in the shock when it bottoms, because it doesn’t have much travel. If you get longer rod ends, it uses more of the shock travel.
Awesome video looks really good on the maxx but how hot is the motor getting with these?
He geared down plus its winter they cool as fast as they heat up in the summer .
I didnt check the temp, but the motor wasnt hot when I put the fan back on.
Just picked up an x maxx last week and got excited because I thought these tires were for it. lol

@@outsourcedrc I have the pro-line trenchers with the bead locks. I noticed it has a little more trouble moving those. I'm switching to a 54 tooth spur gear to hopefully reduce strain on the electronics and get that same punch that it had on the stock tires. The hobby shop owner told me that the stock tires have been an issue for people so I bought these. I kinda regret the tires but the wheels will be nice to have since they are beadlocks.

This looks and sounds like the tires that should come with the car by default. It would be nice having a choice of tires when buying an rc, instead of the one size fits nobody.

Thanks for showing this. Great upgrade, FIX, for the MAXX. I wonder how the drive shafts will hold up? TRAXXAS want's you to buy the metal drive shafts with all you need for that, plus the new tries from the new Wide MAXX for $337. So for $127.50 we have a fix. You broke it cuz you hit something. Is it twisting the inside of the driveshaft?
Those cvds on ebay seem to be good 60 bucks for all four and comes with collars

Yes. I had to reglue them. But since I did that, they have held tight.

Even on 3s, running my widemaxx with a 20t and 3.8 Talon ext's, it's too much torque.
You could probably go up a tooth or two on the pinion if you want more speed. (From experience)
