Hey everyone! I'm so sad right now because I didn't know this is the shorter version of the song, and the longer version didn't show when I was searching. How would I know? Seriously this was my very first time listening to it! :( So... It seems like we'll be doing a part 2 of this song so I could hear the FULL version of it!
Alas, I don't think you'll find the rest of this one, or the full version anywhere on YT. Believe me, I've looked, just out of curiosity. I will for sure send you a link if I ever find one to the full! Only way to see the full version on YT (that is, without dvd or amazon or whatever) is by watching someone ELSE here react to it, as those vids are still up. Obvs not the same, though. Luckily, there ARE still plenty of great Zep vids awaiting you, lol. I and others have rec'd some below. UR a terrific reactor, thanks!
Here's a fun fact; Robert Plant and John Bonham were both either 19 or 20 years old when this album was recorded. Let that sink in for a minute.... If you want a Robert Plant fix check out live at Knebworth, specifically Rock and roll, Achilles last stand and Nobody's fault but mine. You won't be disappointed!
You definitely want to see/hear the rest of that live version. Wow...I wanted it to keep going too! Such mesmerizing jamming! They were incredible, such a juggernaut of a Rock band! You may want to also listen to the studio version of this song as well. Great stuff! You should listen to "What Is and What Should Never Be", which is considered a "single" from their second album, Led Zeppelin II. Great, smooth, dynamic song that I think you will love.
As super incredible as this version is, considered their best live version ever recorded, I would recommend the studio version 1st for you! You can hear how they intended it to sound, then you will be amazed at how they improvise it live, different for almost every performance, and this IS the song most performed live over their 12 years together as a band! Enjoying your reactions Olavity, good luck on your journey!
This is the best version of this song, but the full performance is 29 minutes long, I believe the best part is the second half. It shows the musicians at their peak.
it's an interesting question isnt it? The "If youre going to san franscisco" interlude is among my favorite Zep moments EVAH! Just that fun AF interaction between Jonesy and Bonzo alone! But the gentle fluidity of Jimmy's guitar, and then the bow sequence (which MAY go on a BIT too long, lol, but still: awesome!), wow! But yeah, the 2nd half has so many fire moments, with Jimmy truly achieving orbit w/insane soloing, and even Bonzo's lightning closing drum flourish w/Plant's yelp: "OH!"
As soon as I saw the run time of your reaction, I knew it was the abbreviated version. Dazed and Confused is a masterpiece and I look forward to seeing your reaction to the whole thing. This won’t be in the running as most requested (frankly, you can’t go wrong with any!) but if you are after a moment with Robert, The Ocean live at the same MSG performance is for you. It’s a great song, but to watch young Robert bouncing around the stage… trust me girl, I got you 😂
Hi Olavity, do yourself a favor, get the CD or DVD of the full live performance of this song from Madison Square Garden in New York from 1973 from the album or movie called the "The Song Remains the Same....get yourself a black light, go into a dark room, light some incense, put your headphones on, get in a relaxing position and let Zeppelin (Robert, Jimmy, John and John Paul) take you to another place. Let Zeppelin take you on a trip. Many people have done it. You won't be disappointed. This was only part or the first half of this song. The 2nd half of the song many consider, the finest live hard rock jam ever performed in concert. Love your reactions of Zeppelin, Elvis etc. Keep m' comin!
FYI this version is way different from the album - almost unrecognizable. But in a good way! Can't wait to see you finish the song. It's so beautiful. Robert's voice is amazing as he sings along with the guitar, (which is a regular with those two). Can't wait til you get into something from the Royal Albert Hall concert in 1970. Really incredible for a band that was only together for two years at best. Your love, Robert and the drummer, John Bonham, were only 22 years old. John Paul Jones was 24 and the old geezer of the group turned 26 on the day of the show. He was wearing a sweater vest that his mum gave him for his birthday.❤❤ You did the studio version of Whole Lotta Love, when you do get to the live version from this show, you will be blown away again. I promise!
Black Dog . Will give you chills Lemon 🍋 song could make you blush😊 Thank you is one my favorite really they all are. Going to California is good. What is and what should never ever be played 1970 Royal Albert Hall is the best I could go on but I see a few people sed black dog it gave me chills Robert voice.
Jimmys masterpiece this one, the whole 29 minutes is just epic. Try the beautiful acoustic Going to California 1975 at Earls Court or In My Time of Dying at same concert.
If you loved Jimmy Page's Guitar solo you should watch John Bonham's Drum solo in Moby Dick song. Love your reactions to Led Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick (Live at The Royal Albert Hall 1970) [Official Video]
It's based on a very eerie number by Jake Holmes, which The Yardbirds (out of which Led Zeppelin grew) used to do live. In fact you can see the earlier versions on here somewhere - with Jimmy Page and a very different line up of musicians.
Of all of the folks out there doing these reactions you are without a doubt my favorite! You get so lost in the music, and your facial expressions leave no doubt you're being real about your appreciation for some of the best music ever made. You come up with some pretty funny one liners also. I love what your doing!!
There’s no full videos of the 73 performance of Dazed and Confused on YT anymore. But the 1970 performances are just as good or even better in some ways, more reactors should check out their royal Albert hall performance.
a lot of people dont know that when robert plant went solo in the 80s, his nipples also put out an album on their own, but since they couldnt actually sing, it went unnoticed, and they returned to him, to hide under his shirt, until led zeppelin eventually reunited.. but even then, they never returned to their full glory
Its always great to see your reaction to the Led Zeppelin as you really do get deep in the zone and you can see that you really are loving every second of this classic music and yes it was a pity we only got half but that certainly wasn't your doing at all as you didn't know just how long the full version lasts but you got a great insight into this great song and music and you always show your appreciation all the time as we all appreciate watching you being so endearing ❤❤
very nice reaction, perfect amount of the song, however if you want to see Jimmy go off watch the second half of the song!! pretty sure if you were at a Zep concert Robert would have met up with you backstage.............😜
Dear...This song is almost 30 minutes long. You only heard less than 1/2 of it!!! You did not even reach the middle of the song here. There is much more!
If you want to see and react to the softer side of Led Zeppelin Olavity, you should react to Zep's live acoustic performances of "Going to California" &"That's the Way" from their 1975 Earls Court concerts in England & from 1973 MSG, Zeps live rendition of the "The Rain Song." A great Zep funk tune to react to would be Zep's live performance of "Trampled Underfoot...also from Earls Court 1975. All videos are found on You Tube. I love seeing you drool over Zeppelin Olavity. Lol! Hope your channel keeps growing.
I just went to the channel u got this from. A shame they could only post less than half of this incredible performance (YT has banned the FULL version), but at least there's THIS much, lol. Yeah, this glory goes on for another 18 minutes! SOME of it is a "music video" that is sort of hippie-trippy, but there are also even BETTER shots of Jimmy on his guitar, Plant owning the stage, JPJ on the bass, dancing to the beat of the ferociously talented John Bonham's drumming! Seeing it on DVD or elsewhere recommended! Loved ur reaction!
Well, as I just described in a post below, there IS a link to the full version (thanks, boki, for letting me know), but it's in the form of the entire movie of the concert ("The song remains the same, " as Zep fans know, of course). It' son YT's own movie channel, so not sure how reactions work in that case. But for anyone who just wants to view the (excellent!) movie, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/0kdrCEiIMSs/v-deo.htmlv=0kdrCEiIMSs&t=3191s
Its funny how the part with the bow sounded so different in person. I looked away at a guy handing me a joint when Jimmy picked it up and then the sound started just as i turned back toward the stage and it didnt even seem to be coming from the guitar. the delay was weird. I had quadraphonic speakers in my Eldo but now the source seemed so far away I was like: how can it get to my ears in time to have the same effect that it has in a car when the speakers are so much closer to my ears? and it must be something to do with the notes. yeah man these are special unique string of notes that only Jimmy could know and if you listen very hard the tune will come to you at last and all is one and one is all .... wait thats a different song man. are they playing 2 songs at once or AM i in the guitar hearing the next song before its even played... wow that wasn't just Mexican Red, that was tiestick. Thanks Dave but I kinda didnt really wanna trip today I was hoping to remember at least one of these concerts. ... 49 years later its clear as a bell. Aint life weird?
This is a very complicated song to play live. Only Zeppelin could do it!!!!! So many different phases and techniques in it but they manage it perfectly
Happy you are loving my favorite band! I was fortunate to be at that Madison Square Garden show July 29, 1973 and love when young people get to know the mighty, Led Zeppelin… I’d like to suggest Black Dog next. Not from this concert but the original studio recording from 1971. Roberts voice in ‘71 was amazing! This one is also worth reading the lyrics to lol… Hope you dig it! ua-cam.com/video/s3yBf6LeWzo/v-deo.htmlsi=iTTDNvn3xXw9mvHT
There IS a full (and very great) video on YT of this song being performed in 1970, at the Royal Albert Hall. 16 min. or so. I have long ago learned the hard way to be sure and CHECK a reactor's playlists, as u just mentioned, lol, to make sure I wasn't requesting something that hadn't already been reacted to, ha! I see you haven't done "The Ocean" from this same MSG show. You'd dig that, I think. God, so many to suggest, lol! "Going to California" 1975, very soft and pretty side to them. "Achilles Last Stand" 1979=FIRE!
It would have been better to watch that 1970 version. This version is a bit too much for a first listen of the song. The 1969 Danmark tv version would also have been a better choice.
@@lyndoncmp5751 True. Those are both excellent as well, but more "digestible," lol. I think that Page fanrtasy sequence with the old man on the mountain throws some people, lol. some like it a lot, but some are kind of like "What IS this?"
YAY great choices!!! **Hope** Olavity will do them someday also "That's The Way" "Bron-Y-aur Stomp" "I Can't Quit You Babe" just wanted to add a few heh **RockON!!!**
@@joescott8877 Yes this MSG version is great to get into at a later date, but it's very far removed from the actual song haha. It's like something completely different...... with Dazed and Confused thrown in 😂
@@lyndoncmp5751 Well...yes and no. There are many elements of it the "different" stuff that have been in the LIVE version since 1970 at least. So a lot of the different stuff from the studio was nevertheless "normal" to hear in live versions. Listen to some bootlegs and u heart some of the same riffs and transitions and such. BUT, yeah, they also changed it up as they saw fit, like the "If ur going to SF' bit here--sometimes it was a different song they quoted from, like I think they did Joni's "Woodstock" one time.
It’s been loads of fun watching you “kids” be blown away by the music I listened to as a teenager. I’m an old hippie chick so it’s no disrespect if I call you “kids”. Next? Over The Hills And FarAway.✌️❤️
You did the edited cut version! Jimmy does such more bow playing and shredding! If you can find a full version do a reaction please the full version is like 38 minutes long!
Yes this is not the full version ..you'll be blown away when you watch the whole video Some songs that you might like but there won't be videos of all of them Good Times Bad Times You Shock me I can't quit you Babe I'm gonna leave you Your time is gonna come Heartbreaker In my time of dying The ocean (live) Rock and roll (live) Black dog Going to California The battle of evermore The song remains the same/that rain song(live) Over the hills and far away No quarter(live) Inmigrant song Hey hey what can I do Friends Tangerine That's the way Brown your aur Over the tiles Celebration day Ramble on What is and what should never be Bringing on home Communication breakdown ... hope you react to some of these
Yeh Robert Plant, 6" 2' and blonde hair, what's not to like. I think I can see whats going through your mind, behave !!! Love your reaction, brilliant band 👍
going to a Zeppelin concert was 10x's more entertaining then going to a Pink Floyd concert even though Floyd wrote great music, Zeppelin were great performers on stage.
Hey, I can't find the full version video of Dazed and Confused anywhere on UA-cam. This is the link to The Song Remains The Same (the movie). The song starts at 58:25 Hope this helps. ua-cam.com/video/0kdrCEiIMSs/v-deo.htmlsi=Vsri1NvvYXgjlEfe
If you can't find a suitable version of this Dazed and Confused, there is Royal Albert Hall 1970 or the May 1975 versions to stair at in wonder. Seattle 1977 is often cited as a great solo by Page.
Well, Olavity, I told you I'd give you the link to the full version of Dazed and Confused if I could find it, and I have! Sort of, lol! Shout out to boki down below for telling me about it! Thing is, it's the link to the Full Concert movie! (Called "The Song Remains The Same") D&C starts at 58:20 and lasts about 30 minutes. Don't feel pressure to do the whole thing, or even the second half. You do whatever you want, it's YOUR channel. This just gives you the option if you want. Also: It's from YT's OWN movie channel here. Not sure how/if you can use if for reaction? I've never reacted or posted here, so I know jack shit about how it works, lol! Anyhow, it IS a great movie to watch even if no reaction, but here it is! Keep rockin! ua-cam.com/video/0kdrCEiIMSs/v-deo.html
Please, react to the couple of songs from Led Zeppelin "The Song Remains The Same - The Rain Song" from MSG 1973 concert, please...!!! If you are in love with Robert Plant, after watching that... you will be even much much more...!!! 😉
Great song and version but as others have already pointed out, you just reacted to the beginning 1/3 of this live version from the Song Remains the Same concert movie, it is over 28 minutes long and much of the best of this song, is to come, Please react to the full version when you can, it will be well worth the effort and it is full of evidence of why many call Jimmy Page the greatest guitarist ever with Jimmy Hendrix and for me, David Gilmour.. Led Zeppelin was an amazing band, forget about ranking their songs, most are classics and all are different BUT they all sound like Led Zeppelin. After Dazed and Confused, try No Quarter from the same movie, it is another classic cut, as are most of their catalog. Lastly my dear, please listen to the original songs/albums, you will not be a true, real Led Zeppelin Fan until you do. You will be as amazed listening to those tracks as watching them live and will be hearing why the world fell in love with them in the first place. Even if you just dim the lights and have some down time by yourself, go to their official website and listen there. I envy you on this journey, what you saw in today's snippet is a taste of the magic to come. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎶
As soon as I saw 14 minutes I knew you had the wrong version. It's really sad when the reactors are now picking this version more often than the full version because they don't know any better. For us Zeppelin fans this is like having sex and being told half way through by your partner to stop. 😣😥😫 Whoever posted this version, I really wish they would take it down. If I only wanted to see half the song, let me be in control of that decision.
Alas, YT itself is in control of which version of this song we can see here, and it AINT the full one. I will buy you a metaphorical beer if you can find the full version of this on YT, but I have looked to no avail (save for other reaction vids when it WAS available)
@@joescott8877 Send that beer forward. LOL. Someone said the same exact thing about a week ago on another reaction. Heres the entire concert. ua-cam.com/video/0kdrCEiIMSs/v-deo.html But you are correct. They seem to have taken down just the video of the song. Stupid as hell if the entire concert is still on YT.
@@boki1693 I hope Grolsch isn't too "fancy" for you, lol, that's what I used to celebrate with! But just in case, I'll throw in a nice cold Michelob as well, for reminding me about YT's Movie Channel! Looks like they have some great freebies there! Damn--good call, dude, they DO have D&C wrapped inside the movie, but yes then they scrub the vid version of it, but whatever , YT, lol. Actually great to know. I suppose ppl could rec. this song by saying go there and start at x time till the end or whatever. Cheers!🍺🍺
@@joescott8877 Grolsch is fine. I haven't had one in years though. I loved their bottles with the cap that opened with a lever right? It was funny, when someone said a couple of weeks ago they removed D&C from youtube I immediately searched for it. I actually almost missed the entire concert being there. I love youtube but I sort of really hate the stupid hoops they make the reactors jump through. For one, they are so inconsistent with it.
Great experience but sadly you watched the video that cut out the entire last half of the song which featured Jimmy Page going full gonzo on the guitar. We appreciate it just the same. Would love you to react to Kashmir the live version from Knebworth 1979. Thanks.
They called it Dazed and Confused because they never play it exactly the same and always improvised the lyrics and instrumentals. So while it is always recognizable as Dazed and Confused it is also always a little different.
@kennethfishwick4061 Holmes wrote a song with the same name, Zeppelin,'s song is obviously different. Many songs have the same name such as Jump," "Lady," "Fire," "Shout." Page is credited as the track's sole songwriter. Holmes has never received a songwriting credit or royalties from the band . U.S. copyright law considers “names, titles, and short phrases” to possess an “insufficient amount of authorship or creativity.” That means song titles aren't long enough to enjoy the protection of a copyright.

YOU ROCK, OLAVITY!!!🤘🤘
This is a great live version. You have reacted to part of the song. The whole performance is more than 20 minutes and it's absolutely stunning.
Around 28 minutes to be exact.

But for anyone who just wants to view the (excellent!) movie, here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/0kdrCEiIMSs/v-deo.htmlv=0kdrCEiIMSs&t=3191s
You visibly blush 😊❤
So many different phases and techniques in it but they manage it perfectly
this is only 3rd of this masterpiece :( it gotr pulled from youtube
Listen the studio version this song. Very good too
Happy you are loving my favorite band!

Thank you so much for your support ❤️Black Dog is definitely next!
@@OlavityMusic ❤️
Great reaction
Brilliant light 1
Drum pattern on this is great but bonzo is always great
You're awesome.🤩Next "Black Dog" you'll be not disapointed!😘
The Ocean live at MSG is awesome.
And Over The Hills And Far Away, The Rain Song etc.
This is actually 29 minutes of sheer brilliance. But the full song got pulled from youtube😢
thank you
There IS a full (and very great) video on YT of this song being performed in 1970, at the Royal Albert Hall. 16 min.
@@joescott8877
Yes this MSG version is great to get into at a later date, but it's very far removed from the actual song haha.
OK imagine yourself at the Chicago Stadium its July 6. 1973 you're in the 2nd balcony Dazed And Confused by the "contact high"
Sheer improv guitar wizardry.
It’s been loads of fun watching you “kids” be blown away by the music I listened to as a teenager. I’m an old hippie chick so it’s no disrespect if I call you “kids”. Next? Over The Hills And FarAway.✌️❤️
My all-time favorite Zeppelin tune. Studio version is best for this tune IMO.
You did the edited cut version! Jimmy does such more bow playing and shredding! If you can find a full version do a reaction please the full version is like 38 minutes long!
Yes this is not the full version ..you'll be blown away when you watch the whole video
Some songs that you might like but there won't be videos of all of them

The studio version is much better, in my opinion.
También te ves muy hermosa con tu pollina y tus lentes!!💋💋💋😘😘😘👍
You should check out the live version of Going to California, you'll get to see your crush, Robert up close : )
I like it…Jimmy ‘Goldfinger’ Page!
love this song, but his voice in the studio version is 100x better
And during the 1970 Royal Albert Hall version.
Please do reaction to The Rain Song studio version. It's a lot diffrent from the other songs that you heard from Led Zeppelin. Truly masterpiece.
Do you know of Skid Row,? Kind of a heavier rock version of Bon Jovi.omg hair Boys. Very talented songs!@ 🎸 🎸 🎤
Epic
Need to react to the 30 min version 🎉❤
If you can't find a suitable version of this Dazed and Confused, there is Royal Albert Hall 1970 or the May 1975 versions to stair at in wonder. Seattle 1977 is often cited as a great solo by Page.
And the 1969 Danmark tv version. Pretty close to the studio version.
Also huge props to Jonesy (JPJ); killer bassist. He would've looked better without that wig they made him wear (from what I read).
👏👏👏
💖💖🤗🤗👋👋
Try Tangerine ...Live 75'
Whoever posted this version, I really wish they would take it down.
Heres the entire concert. ua-cam.com/video/0kdrCEiIMSs/v-deo.html
But you are correct. They seem to have taken down just the video of the song. Stupid as hell if the entire concert is still on YT.
@@boki1693 "Video unavailable
The uploader has not made this video available in your country"
Zeppelin songs get taken down and put up all the time, so you need a list and keep checking for them. The official Zeppelin page changes often.
I suspect they called it Dazed and Confused because that is the title given by the composer of the song Jake Holmes.
Clearly you have never heard Jake Holmes version or you would know it is exactly the same song. @@navagate1900

Great song but unfortunately that was only about half of it! This version is almost 30 minutes long. Looks like you’ll have to have a part II to this.
