You are so right to point out how they all shine. Jimmy Page said that the music of Led Zeppelin was designed to FEATURE every member of the band and that every song on every album was considered a 'single', meaning that if it wasn't of the highest standard, it wouldn't be on the album. This explains why they don't have any bad songs.

This was Page's 26th birthday. Alot of these extended versions as well as most live concerts (including this one) inlcuded impromptu additions. So, Jimmy would play a piece and Robert would chime in using his voice as an instrment. Jones kills it on bass here and no one notices.

Robert was only 22 here. For the rest of his 20's he was 'The Golden God'. What a journey that decade must have been for all of them. If I had a time machine I would take you both to London in 1970 & take you to this gig. I would love to watch you both during the show. Andrei needs to go to a karaoke bar, grab the mic & belt out a Zeppelin song as soon as possible for the sake of his health 🤣

“What a journey that decade must have been”. Indeed it was. Don’t know how familiar you are with their story……there were extreme highs and horrific lows…Robert especially looks back on that decade with definite pride at their accomplishments, but also with sadness, some anger, and bemusement at his “golden god” status. He took years trying to shed that persona. Now he views it with a sense of humor and self-deprecation.

They take you on a journey to the Face of God. Talking about maturity there is no way I would be a Zeppelin *fan without LSD. I know that is an unpallateble statement to some, but this bands function is subconscious. They know things that cannot be known. You gotta go under mind with Zeppelin to know. Some things happen seemingly by chance.

Jimmy had already played Dazed and Confused and How Many More Times with the Yardbirds and had also used his violin bow to attack his guitar. I heard How Many More Times live by Page and Plant in 1998 and had tinnitus for a week after the incident with the cello bow. But it was terrific. Jimmy was standing just a few meters away from me.

I just have to tell you that, in spite of the fact that you both still seem to think you may be unqualified in your comments, you two make some of the best and most spot-on comments that I've ever heard, just by telling us what you think and how it makes you feel!
I also wanted to answer Andrei's question, as someone who grew up with this music, yes, it still makes me feel the same youthful energy it did back then, and I've never stopped listening.
I'm still hoping you'll react to Bring it on Home from this same show, (Royal Albert Hall 1970). Robert plays the harmonica. This whole show is absolutely incredible, they were amazing!

This song has been toyed with Jimmy Page Since 1967 in The Yardbirds. There's like 7 live versions of them. The Maximum Opus comes at Iive @ MSG '73 . The song culminates into a 25 + minutes orgy of sounds
P.S. None of them could be replaced, John Bonham remembered all the transitions of every live recording & they NEVER played it the same way.

I believe this was Jimmy’s birthday, I may be wrong, but I know they had a concert on his birthday. They are absolutely the GODS of MUSIC, everything they play is by far the greatest. there are multiple live versions of this - it is almost their signature song. It worth doing all of them because they are always different. Jimmy Page first played this song with his previous band the Yardbirds and then spent years developing and honing it - but the rest of the band knew what they were getting. the bowing idea was suggested to JP by a violinist session musician he used to work with who was the father of the actor David McAllum. Page experiemented with the idea and hear we are. So there is a version from the Danmark radio tv recorded session , another from London in 1970, then there is the MSG 1973 version which is 30 mins long but not all of it is available on you tube now you need to get a copy of the feature film The song remains the same, which is based on those concerts then you also need to look at the Earls court 1975 version - just pace yourselves . Dominika i would strongly recmmend you to try robert Plant's song Dance with you tonight from his solo album Carry Fire to see what he can do as a mature man - you will melt into a puddle .

Love this performance and enjoyed your reaction to it very much. Thanks!
One observation, however. They didn't "let" Page do anything. It was his band and he was in charge both on and off stage. During performances, the others followed his lead. If you observe him closely, you can see him frequently giving signals to the other three. That's not to say that any of the other three couldn't stretch and improvise if they felt like it during performances. Page enjoyed that a lot, but they didn't give him "permission" to do anything. He did exactly what he felt like doing, and for as long as he felt like doing it.
Edit: If the others thought Page was going long during a solo, and sometimes they went very long, they could try to signal to him that it might be time to move on, but it didn't always work. ;)

Live the band goes completely off and they are so in sync they just blow your mind. Oh and as an audience member by the end of the concert you are completely exhausted and you just watched.

If you could isolate JPJ bass, you would realize that he was playing just as hard as Jimmy or better! Of course Bonham was a monster

Believe it or not guys obviously millions love Led Zeppelin, but I know people my age who grew up with them in the 70s and some of them didn’t like them, and some of them even hated them! And especially in their early days, the critics didn’t like them for the most part either. They were described as being too over the top and too much! And thank God they were too much! Lol. They were playing what they wanted to play and didn’t care what the critics thought they were doing it for themselves and their fans that were growing in huge numbers with every album and tour… I remember it took a couple of decades for them to really get the recognition and accolades even from the snobby critics that they deserved… so in 1970 they were quite heavy and this was a fantastic performance! By 1973 they continued to evolve and got even more creative with the song needing a full 25 to 30 minutes! Not sure if that’s too long for your channel, but that would be the next step in the dazed evolution the MSG performance… oh and yes, I do love them just as much as I did when I first saw them 52 years ago and I especially love watching people like yourselves witness and hear them for the first time. It makes me appreciate it even more if that’s possible! Many thanks!

Yes, others mentioned the MSG version to us, but it is too long to react. We'll check it out in our free time for sure 😊💚

OK guys, you ready for another side of Zep you haven’t heard? How about a little bit of reggae mixed with some fun 50s rock ‘n’ roll? D’yer Maker from their fifth album in 1973. Another radio favorite but never performed live. ❤️
