@chiro8414 Thank you for the support as always, it always makes me smile when I recognize a name in my comments, makes me feel like I have a real community of lovely people!
THIS IS WHAT IVE BEEN WAITING FORRRRR!! The tbhk art style is literally gorgeous but it's so hard to replicate and even harder to incorporate into your own style, thanks for thiss
Aidairo are actually two people!! Aida makes the art while Iro writes, they’re both so talented and I especially love Aida’s art to bits!!! I’ve studied it myself before but it’s fun to see how you do it!
@@saltyshirmp6536 I’m not sure exactly where it’s been stated originally, but it has been confirmed. (If you Google it you’ll find multiple sources) Pretty sure they’ve talked about themselves a little bit in the past too
Im so happy this style is getting recognized more, it’s drop dead gorgeous There’s a whole market of collectors for her illustrations and I’m the proud owner of quite a few rare pieces I’m confident on saying that tbhk got this popular not only for the story but also thanks to the striking art style, let’s keep praying for that reboot everyone 🛐
2:06 actually, i noticed when you color pick the line art in most of her art, she doesn’t use black, she uses a really REALLY dark brown that could come off as black in bad or neutral lighting.
I always love AidaIro's artwork. When the first time ever I read TBHK, I found it REALLY unique. I was never really interested in any manga that I need to read online- (im 100% broke) but TBHK was my first comic I passed by AND DID NOT TAKE A TWICE LOOK ON IT. As soon as I saw it I immediately clicked on it. I really like the art especially the colours. Even though there's still dark colour, over all it's still bright and it give off happy, cheerful vibes. Plus the storyline is SUPER interesting, literally what I always searching for 😭❤️
exactly how I started reading it lol (I actually haven’t gotten back into yet in awhile, I should keep reading it, I was last on chapter 40 or something)
To anyone in the comments, remember that even Aida is still improving! If you look at their style from the start of the manga all throughout to the most recent chapters, you can see how their art has changed. So don’t feel discouraged if you can’t seem to master it! Because even the master is still finding ways to improve!
I remember back in 2020 trying to incorporate tbhk style in my art style, the closest i could get was the face proportions but your study made it easier to understand! Thank you for making this video :D Something curious is when you look at older Aidairo's works. The art is almost completely different from one another: softer, more delicate looking, pastel or desaturated colors, etc
I love toilet bound hanako kun, I watched the anime and got the first manga. I haven’t finished it yet, but I‘m probably going to finish it on my class trip. I really love the Aidalro art style, it looks so beautiful and sharp and soft at the same time. And the way the bodies are drawn is stunning. 💕💙 Thank you for the video. 👍
Yes! You should really keep up with the manga! I must say it's one of my favorite manga of all time! It also likes to play with the reader's feelings... (One chapter it all happy and joke everywhere but the next chapter your heart will get crushed)
so what i think is amazing is even though you didn't necessarily get the own try perfect, you still very much conveyed the style. sent that to a friend asking what it reminded them of and thye said tbhK!
this is a really great video! However I couldn't get past the fact that you kept on saying aidairo haha, aida is the artist and iro is the writer! Overall this was an amazing video and I had a wonderful time watching it. Hope that this video will get viral : )
I've gotten this comment about the name so many times now haha, but I'm glad you enjoyed the video, I will make sure not to make such a mistake in the future!
thank you for this video!!! I was searching so much for an Aida art study everywhere (also talking about their art style the way they draw hands is just 👍)
Yeah, the hands are always stunning. They look really sharp and dynamic. And then there‘s me who draws hands like quadratic pieces of paper and the fingers look like they were sausages…
Istg aidairos style is so fucking gorgeous LIKE WHERE DOES SHE GET THOSE COLORS FROM?? Every single illustration is so unique and has a distinct color palette holy shiit oh my gooood
something very important to note that idt anyone else mentioned: the color palette for the eyes/faces/skin/hair very rarely (if ever) changes. i am just pointing this out because i (and others) have put a lot of emphasis on the vibrant aidairo color palettes, when in reality a lot of the magic is in the consistency of a very well thought out selection of colors. it is used very carefully to create consistency but also diversity - ex. hanako’s eyes are more yellow depending on the light, but the brightness is just a larger allotment of the same yellow that is also included in almost all of the other illustrations. another thing that makes it so iconic is the strong, unique, and bold color palette of the background/surrounding colors that harmonize with the preestablished skin/hair/eye colors. note that the shadows tend to dictate the color of the ambient light, and not the highlights/skin tones. def interesting to look into (sry if this is known or has been discussed or isn’t true- i have a ton of posters hanging on my wall from when i would buy every gfantasy (lol) a few years ago, and i noticed this while staring at them. did a google search to see if i was right and it seemed decently accurate ig) don’t think i’ve ever commented on a youtube video lol
This is so underrated, i recently took a proper look at my brother’s hanako books and I fell in love with the covers instantly. Book 8 has my favourite cover, but they all had such charming and pretty colours! I couldn’t stop telling my family and friends how pretty it is. I enjoyed this video a lot ❤❤
finally someone who made a study of aidairos art !! ive tried studying it myself but couldnt get ar past the color choices, so when i saw someone finally uploaded their own attempt i was so so happy

What Iro said to Aida after seeing their art for first time is hilarious.
