    What do you think of the "taking notes" style of editing? I think it's helpful but maybe too boring, so please let me know your thoughts, do you like it or not?

    • @monkey2834
      @monkey2834 Рік тому +7

      I agree with King Jack here, the notes do help with the intake of information, especially as someone who hasn't seen this artist's work before and therefore doesn't really know what to expect.
      Also I love your analysis and take on the eyes, they're so pretty!

      just saw my comment didn't go through, but I like it a lot, only downside is the color palette and the sharp brush, if you used a regular round brush, I think it'd look even more amazing

      +1 to the hopefully typed / crisper notes - because the handwritten notes feel so organic currently, I find myself skipping over reading the notes complete

    Since she blocks her colors 1st, she probably only puts outlines to where necessary. Like when she needs to separate things from one another or help a part of the piece pop out more

      thats true but I find it very hard to replicate. I usually stick to a clear structure and seeing an artist just summon a piece out of nowhere is honestly fascinating to me!

      I'm glad you enjoyed this one too and thank you for your support. I don't think backgrounds have to be too complicated, but this one was a little simpler than usual since I had a perfect reference, but it's still quite close to my usual process.

    • @sariyaart
      @sariyaart  11 місяців тому +3

      @@ijbol-idgaf I appreciate the comment and I definitely see where you're coming from, and I do sorta agree with you. I feel like the major problem when it comes to this sort of thing, is when people don't credit the artist, or they try to copy them outright (for example by tracing or AI), but the point of these videos is not to copy their style, but to learn from their thought process. I doubt that anyone walked away from this video thinking that they're gonna be able to draw like Yueko, but I've seen many people comment on how they learned something new about line art for example, and how the lack of it can be an advantage. I feel like it should be normalized to learn from other peoples successes, that's the fastest way to learn, not copy but learn.
      Also I would love to be able to personally reach out to artists and see how they feel about this type of content, but It's really hard to get in contact with many of them. It's their right to say that they don't want this type of content and I'd be absolutely fine with it, but again, that's kind of unrealistic, at least in my experience.
      Again thanks for the comment and if you disagree let me know, always open for critique :)

    • @sariyaart
      @sariyaart  Місяць тому

      First of all sorry for the late reply. I can't really give you a clear answer, as I'm not the original artist, but what I notice is that Yueko puts more saturated lineart in areas hit by the light. Also she matches the temperature of the line art color with the color inside, so for example, the shadow area of the hair is a very saturated pink-ish red, so the line art is also a warmer temperature. Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if it was all based on instinct tho. Hope this helps

      Well the problem is that I'm clueless when it comes to ibispaint. I would recommend you learn the techniques of ibispaint in general, then apply the theory of what you learned in this video to that program. The only difference is really only the software, but the theory of how to use color and line art is still the same.

    In procreate is there any way to change the lineart to a different color?

    • @sariyaart

      I usually do it by locking the pixels of the line art layer, which should be a feature in procreate (I don't use procreate but this is a feature in every decent drawing software)

      Sorry for the late reply. As you can see, I'm not the original artist of this piece, so it takes me way less to copy the illustration. I usually try to take my time when doing master studies since I wan't to learn the details, but it all depends on you goals. Let's say if you only wanted to study the color, then I'd limit the time so I don't get lost in the details and actually focused only on color. I hope that makes sense. I did the study almost a year ago so I don't really remember, but roughly around 5 hours is probably the time it took

I just wanna say that it's not exaclty uncommon to take a general concept and doing your own spin on it (i.e. different editing style, different artists in this case, etc.), especially on youtube.
