Really nice video! One thing that I would like to point out is that when you were painting the girl sitting looking off into the distance, you broke the values down correctly as the foreground middleground and background with increasing values as you go further. But when you started painting in the shapes your values got really mixed up. The darkest darks in the midground ideally shouldnt be the same as the darkest darks of the foreground. the same with the whites as highlights the lighter values are almost the same value in the fg and the midground. Instead, keeping a value range for each section : 5-25% in fg, 35%-55% in the mg and 70-95% in bg for example will help the readability and distinction between them( not a steadfast rule of course but this helped me a lot)
Love from WB1. Pat and Allan <3

How to WHAT
PHOSPHOPHYLLITE MENTIONED LET'S FUCKING GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Hi I just started my UA-cam art channel and your video mentioned Yuming li got my attention, Yumming is one of my favorite artist. Her color and simple shapes are so on point.
Good video. Bordom is why I actually improved at drawing
Can someone help me find a good variety of references for these color studies? When I type “color study reference into Pinterest, literally all it gives me are a bunch of portrait shots and occasionally some fruit or something.
if anyone is still interested in 2024 during a live stream she used entirely a maru pen instead of a g pen which is the mapping pen in the english version of csp and is a default pen

What's with the phone again? Half of the time I don't even know where mine is. How do people get addicted to them? Anyways, back to looking for ps 2 games to emulate which I am never going to play
your posture looks like a golden ratio is probably the most funny and most random quote i have heard this week. XD
The heads are arguing. Your video was excellently informative. Remember, I started with one line, followed by a second line. The rest was definitive. I look forward to more of your development and learning and sharing. 😊😊😊😊😊
Thanks for this video, very informative May i ask where did you get Ask's interview from?
7:02 tbh it’s not even just for composition reasons that the eye is so saturated, it’s a key feature of the character as well
Your advice shall help me to write my Eyeless Jack x FlutterShy fanfiction, thank you
amazing advice!!!
Tysm for the tutorial it helped me so much😊
It's funny you mention Hibike! Euphonium, I created anki cards from that anime to learn Japanese so I have a lot of nostalgia attached to that show. Back when I started as a professional artists some of my coworkers would brag about pulling all-nighters and drawing\painting constantly. I've never understood that because focusing on my mental, physical and spiritual health has fueled and improved my art.
delete all social media and youtube off your phone and let the internet just be your computer. It’s so much easier to stay in control when you limit it to be a physical place (your desk) that you can get away from instead of being in your pocket 24/7.
I just want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR CREDITING THE ARTISTS!!!! Now I have quite a few new artist to follow! Instant subscribe, you're way too underrated!
Stuart Knolls
That’s one crazy title, gonna watch just in case I miss out on some information
I edged to this video
thx for this awesome video! :3
so real. Keep up the great work & positivity!
True and Real
I loved this video, especially because i also work out, which has helped me out with my art. Like any time i need a buff woman, I got to leeabeefpatty or Broodieshreds or myself ofc.
Nha CdwagVA said that is kinda mid so pass
This is a really good video! (also a really nice study) I completely agree about physical exercise (or any physical activity). During by first exam session in university I used to spend basically my whole day in my room studying, which was terrible for my mental and physical health (and for my studying ironically), and what really helped me was taking short walks in the park and also juggling, which turns out is actually a great hobby. And I would also say physical exercise has a meditative aspect to it, where you are completely absorbed by your activity and your mind is resting from this constant stimulation and distraction. For me that's especially true for running. Only thing I would add to the tips in this video is proper sleep. Many people, not only artists, neglect their sleep by staying up too late, not sleeping enough, watching their phones just before bed... I used to be one of those people, so I know it really fucks you up. Thank you for the video!
Thanks for the video, it helped me a lot!
Thank you for sharing what you know and have learned ❤🙏🙌
Great vid man, love to see videos like this. Especially with social media it's surprisingly easy to forget why we make art, why it's important and why it's fun, this video is a great reminder of that. thanks.
I've been trying similar approaches for quite some time now. And at some point got so good at them i was drawing each day, worldbuilding ideas were flowing into my mind daily, it was great. What's however worth pointing out, is that many people retract to technology due to feeling overwhelmed by big responsibilities. That's the reason i slipped back into my goblin mode, but once i sort my shit out i can get back on creative tracks
The thing about the first section, i dont really remember why i started drawing in the first place anymore?
if you don’t remember it, then just always think of the reason why you currently continue to draw
I work out every other day and I would agree that is is beneficial for you art you gain an instinctual understanding of the muscles simply because you work out so you can better understand when something is off, but I also agree with on a different level if you ever experience pushing your muscles to failure you you feel the ultimate and intense desire for progress. I'm a strong believer of the idea that actions and habits that you take in your daily life affects everything you do, no matter what it is simply because of the way you are training your mind to behave and therefore transfers over to you art. I also believe it improves you reservoir of willpower. i hope i helped convince someone the importance of a healthy body for a healthy mind for stronger art, I'm off to go try meditation again.
ty for this video, its very helpful
one of the best things I did was put a sketchbook in my kitchen. I draw so much more now, because I can doodle between cooking or cleaning, I return to my sketches and change/finish them, etc. Great place to stop and draw for a moment.
keep posting!
This is an underrated video, hopefully this gets to show other UA-cam feeds since it happened to me too
I can really relate to the points you have mentioned
good video 👍
I started to draw because of Andrew Tate and how the rising of feminism is a failure of rhe west. I want wiman to stay in kitchen
Wow 😭😭😭
. . .
Well it’s a good thing wiman don’t exist.
