    Good people helped me to realise silly mistake I made in Fusion. Instead of adding Gamut after every node, add it only once after all merge nodes. That way everything will be linear. What I did in the video is sRGB compositing, which is alright but looses the whole point of linear workflow 😂 thank you to those who pointed it out 👊🏻
    PROPER LINEAR WORKFLOW: ua-cam.com/video/trd47m1pqwc/v-deo.html

    • @AndreyLebrov
      @AndreyLebrov  6 років тому +1

      This would affect all non-linear assets in your scene too which would start appear incorrectly, wouldn’t it? 😊

    • @hoodyFPS
      @hoodyFPS 6 років тому

      Andrey Lebrov I’m not sure I understand what you mean by this. Does this mean the order should be loader node, merge, gamut. And gamut after every single merge node or just 1 gamut?

    • @AndreyLebrov
      @AndreyLebrov  6 років тому +1

      Just 1 gamut in the end of the chain, before saver

    I normal don't comment on videos but I just want to say " you are so inspirational!" I wish I had the money to donate to you for just taking your time to explain your workflow but I hope my subscription to your channel is enough for now... You are truly amazing and I can't wait for my skill level to rival yours some day! I also wanted to thank you for the video you made about (How to LEARN CG & VFX) because you taught me that I'm a generalist and now I know my direction. So again, Andrey, Thank you for the knowledge and inspiration!!!

    Thumbs up power 100 my boiii, you are one of a few since a long time that do octane multipasses tut and its too priceless not to tell you that when you accelerate your video and/or skip some area of the process (fusion/photoshop parts), that light speed pace might be too fast for beginners out here. i see it's relatively simple but for learning it's not ideal :) I know maybe you don't want to do hour long tut but just watch the Eyedesign channel they do great long tuts at a controled fast pace. Anyway thank you so much for what you do !!!

    • @AndreyLebrov
      @AndreyLebrov  6 років тому +2

      Hi mate. Thank you very much for your feedback, I’ll take it into account. I speed up only the parts between myself talking, whatever I’m talking about is visually supported. Usually 😆 but your point makes sense. Cheers! 👊🏻

    I freaking love watching your videos, and I use to tinker around a lot in Cinema 4D myself. I could never figure out how to make 3D look more realistic with my in real life footage, and even after watching this video. I'm still very confused, but I really enjoy watching your videos. I literally just watch them to see what I'm getting myself into, so I haven't reapplied what I've learned yet. Once I get around to actually doing what I've seen in your videos and tinkering around with the settings to see what all this stuff does. I hope to be able to accomplish the effect one day.
    I just got my new PC which I'll be doing a video for soon. It's a SnowBlind build so no I didn't build it myself, but I'm very happy with the specs and speed especially from living in the Apple ecosystem for the last 8 years. Wish I made the switch sooner, but I was so comfortable with Apple I just couldn't until now. And it's a bit of a change so I'm still trying to get use to it.
    My Specs: Intel i7 8700k, Nvidia GTX 1070 Ti, 512gb ssd+120gb ssd+1TB hard-drive, and 16gb of ram (going to upgrade it to 32gb in the future). A big upgrade from a MacBook Pro running Intel i5 @2.6GHz, 8gb of ram, intel graphics, and 256gb ssd...days of rendering 3D stuff and I actually melted my first MacBook Pro because of this.
    I guess what I'm saying is I'll have more questions once I start diving into this. I've never heard of Octane until I found your channel and all of this terminology is gonna be a huge learning curve. It'd be awesome if you could make a playlist of you teaching how to do things in the order you work with a simulated project you made up while providing us project files to follow along with! Hopefully that made sense. :)

    По Фьюжну: 1. для разложения EXRов используй HosSplitEXR скрипт. 2. Гамут необходимо использовать в самом конце ветки (и то только для вывода в sRGB, например), а всю работу проводить в линейном пространстве с включенным sRGB лутом во вьевере, т.к. вся математика Фьюжна работает в линейке.

    Love your videos man, you're really standing out from the other tutorials, and then i mean also other great tutorials, you're tackling some serious subjects here.
    Really like how you take time apart to just talk about the subject and explain, only thing that is slightly distracting me from your explanation is that, i'm noticing you're trying to keep your hands in the frame, which i guess is good, but then it feels like you always need to do something with your hands, to support your explanation with gestures or something which is good, but maybe not all the time, so you're hands are moving alot and in the middle of the shot aswell, so maybe you can just increase your shot width to where you can lean your hands on the desk and still have em in shot, but the focus in your upper body, and whenever necessary bring em in for gestural support when necessary? idk just something that i'm noticing through your videos, but they have been very very helpfull, barely anyone tackling these type of 3D vfx subjects that thoroughly
