How to create an HDRI map

- I wish someone taught me earlier. One of the greatest tips for realism in your VFX scenes is using HDRI maps from shooting locations. Finished shooting? Take photos and create HDRI map to recreate lights in the post. In this video, I show how to do it properly and explain why the quality of the HDRI map matters a lot.

I feel like a cartel boss is teaching me how to make HDRI's. Cant get better than this.
Totally russian mob!
Must not get out much
AHAHAHAHA *.*
He really has that movie bad guy vibe going on
It is very important NOT to change the aperture when you shoot the bracketing pictures. You have to change the shutter speed. Very very important. If you change your aperture and keep the same shutter speed, you will change your depth of field (DOF) and your HDI pictures will not look right. Just to tell people. Great video. Thanks.
Excelente tip, lo tomaré en cuenta, gracias.
Agent 47 is that you?
Tssshh. I’m an improved version. Less cruelty, more emotions. 🧐
hahahaha
No he is agent 157. The hero
@@AndreyLebrov You hide em well ;') Thanks for this man, learnt a lot!
That makes perfect sense. I bet that panoramic ''camera'' stand is used for ''shooting''...
You are really good and informative Andrey! Such a dope video again, really enjoyed it. Your content deserve more views love the unique and calm style, amazing. 10/10
Thanks man. Glad you like it! More to come
yeah i love how the way he talk
His content is top class so he will get there. Would like to meet the guy but damn I am leaving UK soon.
One thing that is really cool about this video is that at the time i'm watching it (12.2021), there are 9.8k likes and 0 dislikes. Its rare to see so many likes and not a single person found it to be otherwise. I pressed like too :)
Finally! The channel, that teaches really useful stuff no one talks about, not another particles logo reveal and shit... Thanks a lot! Subscribed.
Hey man, cool video. I've been stitching HDRIs for quiet a while now and I have to say that Hugin is can deliver pretty much the same result, for free. Just in case anyone of the other guys around here are looking for some similar but free software. It supports 32-bit exr export, at whatever resolution you want. Automatic stitching as well as manual stitching and leveling and also it supports masks and copying these masks from their base images to their exposure pairs. That's pretty much all you could need.
Hugin support brackets ?
Awesome!!! I was looking for something like that.
I like your sense for fashion. It's very sophisticated.
Thank you 😊 🙏🏼
Thank you so much for this! What an amazing resource... i am learning on the job, so this is helping me feel more confident in understanding what is being asked of me! Please keep them coming!
Most on point and best video on this topic on UA-cam. Direct to the point and explained nicely. Thank you and keep posting more such videos.
DUDE...I just discovered your channel yesterday and it's amazing. Great videos!! Love the beginning render!!
Subbed.. The quality of the videos on this channel is unmatched.
From all those channels out there, yours is the one that explains concepts hollistically and gives precise guidance. Your content has a purpose to it and your videos are clear point, whereas other channels make videos all over the place and add useless fluff into it. Also one thing more I like is that you don't use the same generic music the other channels do
Thank you for your support and kind words mate. Glad you like it :)
This is your second video I watch, considering I am really new to 3d as whole.. I am trully grateful for your easy to get explanations :) Thank you!
Man U deserve a big salute slow and detailing explanations no other video is as good as yours ❤️🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I don't even have a camera and i know how HDRI's work but i watched the video anyways and i must say am a big fan of your work, One of the few channels that i actually have the notifications on for! keep up the great work
Great stuff. Glad to hear you like it, appreciate your support a lot! 😏

More to come mate. Thank you for your support! ✌🏻👍🏻
your videos are the best , i love them
Easy to follow video with nice touches of humor, great video.
Not sure if anyone said this below but this can be done directly within Adobe Lightroom.
The steps can be done by doing the following:
>Select single set of bracketed images.
> Merge to HDR by using "Crtl + H" to convert stack to single HDR image.
> Repeat for each set.
> Select all processed HDR images
> Merge to panorama by using "Ctrl + M" to stitch all images together.
> Select image and export using "Ctrl + Shift + E" and export as a .TIFF or .HDR file!
Hope this helps!
Recently I found your channel. Something changes in my live after that, Awesome videos! Hyped by the quality of them
Thank you mate. Glad to hear that! More to come 😏
Cool, I like your tutorials. You are advanced in VFX. Of course you achieved it.
I am a core beginner. I think I will just keep following your videos for instance.
And thank you for teaching us.
this was dope, 1 year of uni couldn't teach me this!! or even remotely explain to me the logics >_< thank you for ur videos !! :')
Omg, I just searched for a video like that!!!! And congrats for 3k subs man, keep going!!!!
Thanks man!!
This channel is way better than some vfx schools! Great work man. Keep going.
Well done tutorial, just what I needed. Love that ending, so cute. Also, the glowing things on your shelves in the background, like fireflies, what are those? Thanks for the vid, will check out the rest of your content. Stay well!
Bro so happy I discovered your channel! Awesome tutorials! Videos are amazing! Keep it up!
I’m happy you discovered it too 😄 Thank you!
One small thing you missed: shooting a handheld bracketed shot straight downwards and upwards without tripod after finishing your 360 bracketed shots. So your stiched HDR will have a black hole on its bottom part. BTW nice tutorial and keep up the good work. Greetings from Hungary. :)
Very nice flow of tutorial, which helps in retaining the information for a long time. Great job!!
Thank you mate. Glad to hear that ☺️
Just started watching your videos today, you're awesome and your tutorials are informative. Cheers from Lithuania.
High five mate!
That's a very nice video, just discovered your channel and the quality of your talk and explanation are rare and neat! Also you remind me of Alex Høgh Andersen who portrays Ivar in Vikings but russian style of course ! :D

love it! glad i found your channel!
Ahh this channel is like one of those gems you find from time to time across the Internet.
Is there any way for me to find the Sound Effects that you used on your Owl Intro, especially the ROBOT ECHO Sound?
Thank you for these great, fun and informative videos!
Thank you Miran 😉
It’s a part of Ambience sounds collection called Hollywood something. I bought several of these collections ages ago and renamed the folders since then so can’t be more precise, sorry mate
Is there a way for me to maybe buy them from you even though it wouldn't make sense to the original creator? :P
I believe it’s illegal 😄 found the name for you. Hollywood Edge - The Eerie Edition Sound FX
Andrey Lebrov That was my concern aswell 😁
Thank you for your time and information, I appreciate it!

Thanks mate! Will do my best to deliver more useful stuff :)
not many people (begginers) know the value of a good HDRI map, especially making one on their own for a 3D scene, I myself started making my own HDRI's about a year ago and it's a really great option for getting the realistic lighting and shadows that I want :)
Fantastic as always - so inspiring. Thank you
Glad you liked it!! 👊🏻
Awesome creative process man 👍🏼

Best channel about cgi, thank you Андрей)
very cool tricks your tutorials are very helpful 👍
Its was a great tutorial. You are really a truly profesional and hard working person. I know its not the kind of videos that you actually do, but i wonder if you can talk about your work sketchual because its amazing all the knowledge you have.
Thank you so much , You are good in teaching. peace
I love your Videos, it Helps really much.
You are a really Sympathetic Guy.....LoL
Thank u brother, loved it!
Handy thanks. Look forward to giving this a go
That is awesome tutorial ,so enjoyable
Really loving your channel man! The time your putting into these videos really shows( cgi jars in the background?! Sick! ). I thought I might mention a small tip if helpful. A reason PT Gui was struggling could have been because your lens was not over the tripod heads centre of rotation( nodal point ). This would cause small shifts in persprective that can be difficult for the software especially when not shooting with a fisheye lens. Also if you comp'd your intro to this video in fusion, you can get rid of the pink highlights by adding a brightness contrast or custom tool and setting it to clamp blacks and whites. Sorry for the novel, looking forward to the next video!
Nice tips mate, thank you for your input and kind words! High five!
Man i love your vids bro thanks for being a legend
Wow, that’s a high appraisal. Thank you mate 👊🏻😉

Amazing video!
Really and has always been the best
You've helped me much. I thank you.
thank you very much Andrey for dis tutorial...
So interesting! Thanks
wow! subes contenido con calidad de película. impresionante, saludos bro.
This man is full of contrast, which is very fitting for a HDR video! He has the vadim blyat gang tattoos but also the cute spaced front teeth, when he's inside he looks dangerous but when he's outside he just looks dapper! :-D
EDIT: Oh and also you're very funny :-D and the video is awesome and very useful!
EDIT2: And your little kid is so cute hahaha, she has the same teeth as you :-D
you talk in a way that i wish you where my friend LOL Andrey Congrats SUPER TUTORIAL AS ALWAYS
Thank you, I will be doing this soon for an upcoming project. For any one reading this comment you can also use a gimbal with a protractor.
I literally been using an iPhone to take 360 degree panoramic images
It hasn’t been bad but it hasn’t been good.
Happy birthday andrey 🥳
