Estilo PVC Cistern Link Suite: Bunnings toilet tips and info

- I recently installed an Estilo PVC Cistern which I purchased from Bunnings for $97. Here I share a few tips and information regarding this suite and what to look out for when installing, as well as my thoughts and tips.
I also installed one of these Estilo S-Trap toilets in our back yard while we were getting out bathroom and toilet renovated in 2020. If you use silicone all round the base and leave it to set 24 hours the screws are irrelevant. Both our new toilets are only held down by silicone. No movement what so ever. When I had to remove the Estilo toilet it took quite some effort to free it from the silicone. Silicone is enough if your tiles are good.
Awesome David! Since this vid, I've installed another one, just with silicone and have found it to be suitable. As well, a builder told me that is standard practise for most toilets installed by plumbers. 👍
Thanks for sharing!! I'm about to install my one.
Thanks, just what I needed. I'm kind of handy but toilets are a new frontier for me. :)
Great thanks for the tips. I'll install mine tomorrow 👍
Good luck with it!!!
Turn water off flush toilet a few times till cistern and toilet is empty then remove inlet to cistern hose, cistern then toilet.
Hi. I am not a plumber but have been in building and maintenance for years. Are you aware that your cistern is too high. The plastic link between the seat and the cistern should be flush to the bottom of the cistern. You should not see any pipes on the bottom of the cistern. If you install the cistern like this, (always) when you sell your place a tradesman can see that an amateur fitted the toilet. Hope this helps
lol, I assume you didn't get to the whole video, I don't blame you. 😂 I made a mention of this at 2:39 . Thank you for your comment though. 👌
Was hoping you covered the mounting bracket on the cistern
Yeah sorry, didn’t get around to that
Thanks for the video ! Looking to replace a toilet myself too. Do you know if it would effect warranty and insurance etc?
Not sure, but for $120 toilet would you bother? 🤷♂️
We have the same toilet bowl, original cistern though.
Don't worry about the cover they look chatty anyway just pull the lid up
Ah-ha! You didn't make a mistake, the 801mm specified on the guide is wrong! I've got the same gap, but I can't even move the cistern down any more because my tap is in the way.
Showing the installation, rather than the finished job, would have been handy
Thanks man
No problem 👌
Easy to install, ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxjA-hDN2m8_mi0Dg0JD8U6QiArozIAc4I and comfortable. No idea what other people were talking about when they said it was difficult to install or uncomfortable.
Thanks for the video. Informative and postitive. You did a great job! 2 years later is it still working fine? Did you ever lower the cistern?
Hahahaha, thanks for your comments! The answer is no....BUT.....I've installed a second one and it is so perfect, I could literally be a plumber. Not just any plumber, one of those fancy ones that charges $150/hour. 😄
In terms of working fine, that answer is yes.

What brand of toilet did you end up with after installing this Estilo?
Is there any way of removing the seat. For cleaning purpose?
Yes, uses the same mounting system that a lot of them use.
@@VroomBroomZoom ok thanks
where did you get the flange or the wax seal? for the bottom sewer outlet bunnings don't seem to have them
Definitely there (PVC outer with flat rubber collar), speak to one of their "experts". ☺
Watching this while sitting on the throne
😂😂😂😂
i have just brought this same toilet, question, what type of flange do u need to connect it to the outlet pipe,
I always use the one with the thick black rubber disc that you shove the s pipe into. Comes as a pack with the pvc surround
@@VroomBroomZoom ok , thanks , hope Bunnings have it, ? So you dont need wax to seal it
Cheapest toilet at Bunnings
Certainly is…..and after a while, it definitely shows in some areas. 😜
Brilliant argument for hiring a plumber :)
I help any industry I can.
firstly the pan is not square to the tiles looks like shit, secondly, you should never drill in the screw because you may break the pan or screw and yes its way too high and you should always silicon the pan to the floor and level the pan
Thank you for your feedback. 😊
bla, bla, bla, bla... if you want to waste your time see this video!!!
Thank you for watching
You are a fool....this is the problem in todays world. People think they have sufficient knowledge to do things who clealy cannot & then realise their mistakes & just live with them instead of correcting.
Thank you for watching...and actually listening to what I had to say in the video. 👍
Whats with the hostility ya flog? Its just a small installation mistake.
@@aryobismo6523 only hostility from you in your comment...You are the one who posted a SH!T job, you WANKA.
Hahaha mate you sound so butthurt
Useless
I don't think so, it takes poo poo and wee wee away from your house. 👍
