Congress considers mandatory military draft for both men and women

- The United States Congress is considering legislation that would update the military draft process by automatically registering men for the draft on their 18th birthday. The legislation could also require women to enter the military draft.
The legislation is currently making its way through the House and Senate but has a very slim chance of becoming law.

Think you are misunderstanding. An automatic draft would mean all 18-25 aged males will automatically be registered for the draft instead of having having to manually draft one self. Now, every male of age has a chance of being drafted. Wealth and race will not factor into being drafted.

@crisadams5871 wether that is true or not, registering for the draft is already required. This only evens the field for those who have no intent of registering.

@@Weakestlink437 if required to register with Selective Service, failure to register is a felony punishable by a fine of up to $250,000 and/or 5 years imprisonment. Or a combination of the two. Its federal law. A person can't simply say no I dont want to without legal consequences.

It's not about equality, it's about equity. The next draft bill will include older people and disabled people. They said wars are more fought behind a desk so there's a job for everyone.

This is ONLY automatic registration for the Selective Service System (SSS), this is not and never has been the / a draft. In the US you are (and have been for many, many, years) required (by law) to register for the SSS within 30 days of your 18th birthday. This is not a new requirement, but more and more people are failing to do so. The process being considered now would automate this SSS registration. And they are considering adding females to the already existing SSS requirement. This concept (females and the SSS) has come around many times in the past, and will, in my opinion, be a requirement eventually.

Notice they dont tell you this is a democrat policy. Equity is the key word! Be prepared for the age limit to be lifted and diabled people included. There's a job for everyone, even disabled people. They are saying wars are more fought behind a desk than in the battle field.

Also remember, no threat of Jail time or fine could ever compare to getting your limbs blown off or blowing off the limbs of some one else. :) Drafting against a persons will is enslavement and as such is illegal and a violation of a persons right to Life (Your right to choose to live) Liberty (Your right to make your own life choices & Freedom (Your inalienable right to not be enslaved by others no matter how many people vote to take away your freedom)
