Long-Term Functionality. Rough Country’s high-strength strut mount extensions were crafted using heavy-duty billet aluminum. why in the link i went to the website and it said its only for (07-18) silverado/gmc? would this fit my 2020 2wd WT?
What are the wheel specs??
Just asking if need an alignment after installing the 2 inches leveling kit?
To install the bottom spaces. Put the truck on a jack stand. Undo the 2 bolts to the bottom of the strut. Remove the "J" clips. Use a pry bar to install the spacer. Install the supplied nuts and bolts. You dont have to take all the other stuff apart. Get an alignment check after.
You dont even have to take the tires off to install them.
My issue is the damn CV axle is in the way of the hardware. Did you guys run a bolt the from the top so it didn’t contact the CV?
I tried it this way...as I've done before on other year silverados these new ones don't work like that it sucks
Can confirm it did work on my 2wd silverado custom without removing wheels. 2023. Had to jack it up higher so there's more room for control arm to drop down. Also had to really loosen the sway bar stud/nut from the bottom. That provided enough clearance to get the spacer in after removing the two 15mm bolts. Hope this helps someone.
hah I was going to say the same ! I dont understand why he is removing so much , totally unnecessary.
Very helpful video. Was able to install this thanks to the vid. The magnetic ride was easy to install too.
Like the video. Have a black 2020 Silverado 1500 Custom. Really like the wheels and tires put on in this demo and would like to upgrade. Got a link or any info on the wheels and tires?
I know it's late but those are 17" Fuel Anza wheels with 33/12.50/17 Nitto Mud Grapppler.
Thanks for the video of the install. Did you have to get the truck realigned after you where done. I want to do this to my new 2022 Chevy Silverado 4x4 RTS Truck. Thanks again
You will have to get alignment after this
@@TaycroTC hi I’m thinking of doing this I’m just wondering why would u need alignment ? Is it not drive able ?
@@g.f4344 you can drive it but just don’t wait too long for an alignment to ensure the tires wear evenly and you’re suspension components last.
...first step remove car body , after that take motor and tranny out of frame, now you can fix the flat tire.
Are the stabilizer links height adjustable on a 2022 Silverado 4x4
Thanks
Would you recommend replacing the lower control arms with this kit ? 2017 Silverado
I did everything as you said. At the end the passenger side is 1/4 taller.. Do you think I did something wrong?
Took me 90 minutes total to complete this install on my 2022 Chevy Silverado RST. Proper planning and the right tools will make this an easy job to do. Looks great and cleared room for my new 33" tires. I'll have to take it in for an alignment this weekend just to make sure everything is good.
Thanks for watching! -Zach
Did you have to replace the UCAs?
@charlesprovance570 that's what I am trying to figure out also. I read that the ball joints will wear out if I don't upgrade uca's. I also read that you don't need upgraded uca's.😆 I think I am upgrading uca's with mine just to be safe.
Hey I’m looking at doing this to my 22 Silverado RST! Did everything work out well after the alignment and how have you liked it?
Did the ride quality change at all ??
Nobody ever mentions ride quality. Does the ride quality change at all
Put this on my 21 LT. back squats JUST a tad…. Will the front settle on down or is this how she’ll be?
Did the ride quality change at all
I plan on dropping the front/rear 2" on my 2012 Silverado Reg cab long bed. What would American Trucks recommend?
Fair winds and following seas to all.
I've been asking AT this for 6 months & nothing...But from what I learned, cheapest looks like Bell-Tech 2" lowering springs & 3" drop shackles.
@@MudGoose Thanks for the info. It's not easy getting answers from any company I have contacted. All of the products that I've researched so far for the rear 2" drop specify short bed only. Even called manufactures, like Bell Tech, and it's like calling a help desk in a foreign country (no offense intended). I'll figure it out someday. Best to all.
They sell reverse lowering kits which will drop the rear instead of lifting the front to achieve the level stance
@@michaelduenas1364 Thanks for the info! I'll check on it. Still planning on a 2 inch drop on front and rear. Best to all.
IF TRUCK HAS ELECTRIC STEERING DO YOU NEED TO UNPLUG? 2017 SILVERADO
whats up adam!!
how come when i go to the mentionned website and i put in the specs. it keeps saying it doesnt fit the truck???. 2020 1500 chevy silverado, 4x4
Tried to buy this kit for my 2019 Silverado rst z71 but they say that don’t fit, they have the one on top of the strut which is a little hard to install. Did you find the right leveling kit?
@@Jzn693 not really because i want the bottom strut leveling kit. and as shown in the vid. it should fit lol but i just went and bought a superlift 2 inch leveling kit on realtruck
@@Jzn693 what's the difference between the one on top of the Strut and the one show in the video ?
I had called “Rough Country” and they have another leveling kit for the 19-21 models. They do not advise using this one for the 19-21. So I’m 🤷♂️.
Is this for real? I'm confused which one to get if so.
So true, did a little more research and it is saying up to 2018 and only certain models.
@@tonydarosa183 yea i installed the true one for 19-21. It’s harder to install but long run it’s better than any quick install “C” style leveling kit. This one goes over the suspension instead of the bottom.
Will 33's fit on my 2015 SIERRA
Yes they will... they might rub barely at full lock. How much it rubs depends on how wide your wheel is.
@@speedocity3778 Factory 18" that they put on Z71s
@@hazman440 I'm just saying because I have a 2014 Silverado on 20x10 with 33x12.5 with a 2.5 inch leveling kit
33x11.8 on 20” factory rim here fits like glove
Will the 2 inch level out my 2017 silverado or do I need less or more?
Yes I bought one for mine at my local action truck and accessories for 49.99 out the door not $100 the price here is very off and I’m a Canadian so our prices are higher
will this laveling kit work with a trail boss
No
So I bought the 2 inch for the front, should I do 2 inch for the rear or would that look stupid
Doing the 2" in the rear will put back the factory rake
Did the ride quality change at all
@@wotysgtb4348good luck
Will 34s fit
I have nitto 34.5 on my 2019 4x4 no leveling kit stock. On factory 17s
"Excuse me, what time is it?"
Well let's take the back cover off my watch and see how it works.
So u need an alignment after the leveling kit?
We highly recommend it! -Zach
$100?
Looks like those components rust easy 😢
There is some misinformation here at the beginning there bud
This video is a perfect example of why shops charge too much for a simple install like this. Loosen the bottom bolt of the sway bar - that is the only extra work that needs to be done. You don't even need to remove the bolt, just loosen to the bottom of the threads. All the extra stuff is nothing more than an excuse to charge more.
I'm installing this same kit coming up here. What's the easier way?
What he’s saying is the only thing you need to loosen is the sway bar link to the lower control arm. You don’t even need to take the tires off. There is one video where he doesn’t even loosen the sway bar.
Somebody needs to teach you how to read a tape measure bud. It is clearly at 1" not 1/1/2"
Way overkill.
