I am a self taught mechanic of over 30 years in the field. Helping people save money and stay safe on the road is what I am here for. If I can pass that along in my videos, that would make me feel even more accomplished. I am rather old school and do not really do things by the book, for this reason, I do not claim to make "Instructional" videos. My videos are for entertainment purposes only. Please use safety and knowledge when doing your own repairs. ~ Ben - MegaMiles

This is one of the best install videos on UA-cam. I hate when people edit out the struggles the have. It’s a great way for people to learn from. Bravo🎉
Thank you for watching!
Thanks for posting this, made me feel a whole lot better about paying my installer! ...lol
😂
Thank you!
I used a ratchet strap to pull the harness upward so I could tighten top bolts… thanks for the vid, helped my install on 24 Silverado
Thanks for watching!
One of the best install videos I’ve ever seen. 👏👏👏
Thank you for watching!
That's my truck and the exact lift I'm getting, it's gonna look funny with stock size tires, but I have spacers so they won't be sitting under the truck, they will be 2 inches out
Man those car lifts make life easier!
Yea but shop rent is expensive. Worth it though after 10 years in my home garage on my back.
Should be able to get straight to that bolt above the strut by going in from the top under the hood in the engine compartment.
1 thing struck me, the new rear shocks had no dust covers. with mud and grime the shocks will wear prematurely. 100% greater than normal video. A++++++
Thats kind of back and forth in the 4wheeling world. They can trap moisture, mud and other debris. Some shocks come without them now and have built in dust guards in the housing. It really comes down to a matter of how you feel about them.
My guy I have a new found respect for you. I installed the same lift on my 2020 silverado yesterday. It was quite a choir lol. My kit did come with the sway bar drop brackets. It actually rides better than factory did.
Glad to hear it went well! Thanks for watching!
I’m about to do this same lift myself at home…. I’m wondering how hard it’s gonna be with no lift using only jacks
@Sean J I think the biggest issue would be getting it high enough off the ground. Other than that, its all the same. Worked out of my home garage for 10 years, I get it.
@@MegaMilesBen yeah I think I’m going to get some 2/4s and build a reinforced jack stand for my 2 4ton jacks to help raise it up much higher.
Respect good hard worker right there
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the video im about to do this myself definitely need to invest in some wratcheting wrenches
Thanks for watching!

Thank you for watching!
Great video 🙏🏽
Thanks for watching!
Hi buddy, There is nothing on the swaybar?
@o.c.endurotrails9775 theres wasnt anything with the kit, no. My clients provide their own parts.
Is it of any concern that the U-bolts for the rear passenger blocks were tightened uneven? The forward bolts had considerably more thread exposed. Just curious as I am going to be installing this exact lift soon.
They wont always be even. Are they the same lenghts?
Torque specs is your friend here. As long as they are torqued to specs than you should be good to go.
If theyre the same but have been stretched from over torque, Id replace them.
Can u show more pics of that truck from the side further away?
I dont have the vehicle. It's a clients car.
I’m about to put the same kit on my 2018 Silverado however the people at Rough Country told me the upper control arms are not necessary ?
I dont agree with that. Any chevy lifted over 3" will have camber alignment issues without forged arms or arms with adjustable ball joints.
Should have included the torque values for all nuts. But overall nice video
This video is before I started listing socket and wrench sizes.
Doing these videos is actually a lot of extra work on top of my jobs. Taking the time to write down each individual wrench and socket size added on top of the job, the notes and keeping up with all the aspects of being a one man shop is rather time consuming. Something a lot of people dont think about.
I have taken this same suggestion into consideration on my newer videos and have been listing sizes and torque values.
Thanks for watching!
@@MegaMilesBen No doubt man. I only stated that as i am doing this soon and wanted to know the torque value. Doesnt take away from the actual video. Thanks for taking the time to make this.
@Joe-px7ke I wish I had something that listed every torque on one sheet but I dont. I have to look up each thing.
Im an extremely busy person being a small one man shop and single father but if you want to write a list of the torques youll need, Ill see what I can do for you tonight/tomorrow night. Im going a bit above and beyond with offering but maybe itll help others too, so the extra time for me might be worth it.
@@MegaMilesBen no worries brotha! I get it man. I’ll do the research. You take care of your family
any reason that you didnt remove th rear small angle shim that comes on the truck stock on the leaf spring? I ask some some say remove it others say don't for drive line vibration issues.
I wont remove anything thats not listed in book or the lifts instructions.
@@MegaMilesBen fully understand that just have had conflicting messages from what rough country says and the viedos I see is all.
@@CRMAG87 my client hasnt had any issues with the lift, if that helps at all.
@@MegaMilesBen that is great to hear. Thanks for the information
what size tires do you have on that? Thinking about putting 3.5 inch lift on mine, but wonder if 275/60R20 will be too small?
This is a clients truck. I do not remember, Im sorry.
I am having the exact kit installed on my 2019 Silverado. It’s going to need an alignment after correct?
Yes.
I have a 2021 silverado that I want to have this lift kit installed. How much do you charge? I may just drive to you instead of here locally.
I do not discuss labor on youtube. Please text me at 720-357-8192 if youre serious. Thank you.
Sad every one gets rid of there stock rims and tires everyone gots lots of money
Dont let looks decieve you. A lot of people make monthly payments for rims and tires.
People spoil themselves with their cars, for some its their only escape from the stresses of the world. Im one of them.
I have a 2004 Highlander and would fix it up way more if I could afford to.
did you install the sway bar drop ?
This kit didnt have one. Hasnt been a problem for him? Youd think Rough Country would include something like that if needed.
@@MegaMilesBen i have the same kit and there was the part for it in it. Thats why im asking
Thats strange. Ill have to check up on that. Thanks for the info.
@@MegaMilesBen i can send you some pictures if you want by mail. Maybe i got a revised version of the kit
Ill check up with rough country. Gives me an excuse to call them 😄
Does it interfere using 4L or 4Hi
No
Where are you located
I have a little one man shop in Denver and do everything by appointment.
