I have been researching this and unless someone else has noted it, the kit you originally bought is for 2WD trucks and not the 4WD trucks. Which that kit comes with the 1.5” block and the 4wd kit comes with a solid 3” block. On a different note I am loving the channel!
I do agree with you but that truck is not 4WD unless it has blue to axles lol.
Here from 2024…you talking about 1000 subs, not knowing what’s in the future for your channel, puts a smile on my face. You guys are amazing. Mahalo! See you in the future! 😂
just put the same lift on my 2014, it does now come with a bigger, 3" block for the rear and the instructions specifically tell you to remove factory blocks. Great reviews, all your videos are in depth and detailed!
Just discovered your channel and subbed right away! Love the details of each step when doing these mods👍
Over 2K now. Congrats and keep up the good work!
That’s interesting on the rear blocks. My kit came with 3” and everything. Kinda thought that was common sense. I also got the lifted shocks and new control arms with my kit and they made a huge difference, definitely worth the money
They've improved the kit. he had an old kit.
I just installed a motofab 3in front 2in rear last weekend on my 11 Silverado and I love it so much more now..urs looks great
You found many of the reasons everyone says Don't buy Rough Country!!! Great work on the vids bro..
Dude you were making some awesome videos for only 400 subs, love the hard work, and the cars!!
Man your tire dressing is always awesome and clean
Rough Country has the kit with the upper control arms. I’ve seen a few reviews now where people talk about the bad angles, but choose to not buy the kit with the controls arms. 🤔 Like you mentioned though, it’s a budget friendly level/lift. Can’t expect the world at that price point. I would guess the CV angles don’t look all that great either. Enjoy the power tools, looks like you made the subscriber count.
Really good video man!! I didn't know that about that 3.5in lift from rough country and I have that one my 2015 GMC Sierra. Good to know and I'm going to look into those blocks on my truck but I plan to do the 6in BDS lift sometime but still really good to know about those blocks in the back! Keep up the reviews!
Such a clean truck man keep it up!! just subscribed only because I have the same truck but single cab and love these trucks
Guys you need to buy 2-4” upper control arms along with leveling kits to avoid extreme angles. Sway bar links for 2-4 lift are recommended as well to make it more drivable. I have auto level and don’t want to buy new shocks so to be able to use stock shocks get the spacers for them as well.
I have an Avalanche with auto level and want to add a 3" lift.
Good eye bro on editing! Nice setup! Truck on!
Good vid. I just bought me a 2018 Silverado Z71 crew and it shows me great info thanks! I did subscribe get you some air tools! 😀
Had a pro comp 6 inch lift in a 01 gmc 1500 that had 4 inch blocks on the factory block with add a leafs, so glad I'm not dealing with that truck anymore other than parting it out
What's dope is that you enjoy that truck for sure.
Great job my man, BEAUTIFUL TRUCK, fun video
Well done again brotha! Cheap option for a decent impact.. get a Rigid impact from home depot, its not nearly as strong as an air powered impact gun but its super convenient, inexpensive, and cordless. I'll break bolts loose with a wrench then hit it with the rigid and rarely run into issues. Keep up the awesome vids!
Just did 6 inch lift kit rough country everything went great truck looks nice put half inch spacer upfront to level truck! Only problem is now getting a weird vibration in rear of truck since lifted I believe it’s the cheap shocks they give you in kit
I had those rc blocks on my f150 and the blocks started creeping out and shearing the pin off. Glad you got yours don’t right instead of trusting rc like I did lol
Beautiful Truck! Thanks for the video...
Nice video
Just subscribed, keep it up with the power tools 👍
If you want a good set of power tools look in to the Milwaukee fuel 1/2 high torque impact and the 3/8 fuel impact. It makes a world of difference.
Superlift makes a great upper control arm that will fix your ball joint problem
Fabtech does the same with their blocks. I ended up buying a complete 6” spring replacement from skyjacker. Front was Fabtech back was skyjacker on my dodge.
That's why you go with MotoFab! I have the 3" front and 2" rear kit.
you gained another subscriber 😎🤘 a lil step closer to your tools
I found this very informing. Thankyou. I am looking at lifting my 95 1500 cheyanne grandpa owned truck that I just bought. I don't want the 6 inch crazy lift, hell I'm a short guy. But the 3 inch, so I can stiffen the suspension, and fit 33's would be great for me. Thanks again!
Damn now your at 9K+!! I hope you had the SnapOn tools truck back up to your house and unload everything inside!! Lol
Almost at 70k now in just 2 years not bad at all
First off, GO Chargers!!!! Great looking Truck!!!! We just did the same lift on our Tundra. We have a video showing our lift as well.
Awesome video man. But the truck looked clean before also 😂😂
Excellent videos man. Get some more toys to modify and review and you could make some money off this stuff! I could definitely see your channel blowing up... Your editing and quality is perfect. Not too long and not leaving a viewer with any questions to ask. I rarely find videos like that! My new favorite channel... Haha but I have an 08 duramax and decided to go with the same kit thanks to your videos... gonna add the upper control arms though. Keep up the good work.
Appreciate the support! Thanks for watching!
Dennis from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia giving us truck advice.
Jk. Great video man.
This is what I thought 3 seconds in.
Beautiful blue on that truck. Looking to get one like this or the generation before myself
Oh man!
I'm Bjorn from Sweden🇸🇪
I have a Nissan Navara/Phatfinder diesel. I'm run the 2,5" in front and they send out chackel for rear 1,5" whit gave me the same bulldog look. Hate that too. I'm putting big heavy trailer up to 6000lbs. Then the truck hang low bad to drive. So I'm go for chackels 1,5 plus 2" block to level my fender whit the ground. Now it's fine. Cheers man. Bjorn
Just subscribed keep up the videos.
Mine came with a 3 inch block and upper controls arms, knuckles as well. So rough country does sell the kit with all the right parts that would normally ware. Just have to spend a couple hundred more
I have a question, for clarity. Adding that 3" block didn't give you 3" of lift, its actually adding like 2" more than the stock block, correct? I'm just trying to plan what I want to do without buy the wrong parts. Thanks for your help.
are we supposed to use fresh u bolts for every single use? seems like I have heard that ubolts are not to be used over and over because the threads are not meant for that and end up wearng down.
With the 3.5 lift, do you think a crossmember is needed or do you think just changing the arms should be good enough? Thanks in advance
Did you have any leaf spring rapping with the stacked blocks? I did the same type of lift kit that said to stack rear block on top of factory block. My truck now has loud rapping noise over bumps! Not sure if the noise is from blocks or leaf springs.
Keep up the good work
Most shops HIGHLY recommend the kit that comes with the upper control arms. It corrects the issue with the ball joint angle. Any time I’ve looked at the kit on their website it shows a 3” block for the rear. My previous 08 Sierra had the same lift kit and it was a single 3” block as well. So I’m not sure why your kit came with a smaller block to stack on the existing OEM block. Very odd.
a_a_ronevo9 learned from one of the comments that the 2wd kits come with the block to stack. 4wd kits come with a 3”... very odd indeed. Thanks for watching!
Which kit that comes with upper control arms would you recommend?
have the same kit from over a year ago and it had a single 3" block for the rear
I put a 2 inch leveling kit on my truck, hope there’s no ill effects down the road.
What can you do about the ball joint and other part you said were at ridiculous angles? Any easy fix for them or is that just something you have to live with when you lift?
Hey i did the same thing, you think it would fit 35's on -44 offset wheels?
Just ordered a set!
Sweet ride sir.
Did you use the u bolts that rough country supplied or did you get new ones to use for new blocks?
Subscribed just because of the tool deal lol good luck
Hey ,nice video! Look I got same problem on my 2011 suburban , I need help on what other parts to buy, I got
RC, camber and 2’ spacer for differential but truck still no right angle
What exhaust do you have on your truck sounds nice and clean. Looking to add an exhaust to my GMC
So to level a truck is 3.5 inc on front and 3 inc on rear. Thanks bro you are doing great and I hope you get your power tools I can I magen you with power tools.
I went Motofab on my 2018 was only 250ish shipped to my house turned out great check on my vid never did install just before and after
Wassup dude, what jack are you using and would you recommend. Thanks
I'm getting a pro comp 6" lift kit sometime in March
What are you going to do about the upper control arm issue. Are you making a video about that as I have the same kit as you and have the same control are issue.
Hey serious question, would you happen to know ehat you torwued the unbolts to? Im getting the 3 inch lift block with u bolts i just dont know if i should tourwue it to factory spec or something more like 120 ft-lbs
What size are the wheels and tires ?
Upper control arms. Ac delco professional 45O0003 and 45O0004 adjustable camber and caster for lifted trucks. 150 each. Same with rough country. Or go cognito for 5 to 800. The catch is. The rc and cognito kits are larger diameter control arms. They only work in a specific range. If you go with a bigger lift or decide to go back to stock ride height. You have to replace them. The Delco professional is more of a stock control arm with a greater adjustment range. Probably better suited for what you are doing. With more long term flexibility
TheSpartanPaul thanks for the info. Very much appreciated!
No problem man. Im going through the same with my truck right now. I bit the bullet on Delco professional. I figure the best product for the truck is going to come from the engineers who built the damn thing. And im not paying the premium price of aftermarket. I just went a little bit different than you did. Bilsteins 5100 gave me 1.77 in the front. Rough country body lift gave me another 1.25. 3 in lift all together.
Wondering if the level kit twisted the steering wheel? If so. How to adjust?
got a supreme suspension 3.5 front 3 inch rear pro billet kit .the front spacer was 2 inch my gain was 2 inch i was told the geomety was not 1:1 ratio.. so now my truck has 7 inch front clearence from top of tire to 11 inch clearence in the rear... not that happy with supreme suspension..going to order the rough country 4 inch lifted strut hopefully the lift will be more level.
What's your set up on size on the tires and rims
Does this kit fit a 4x4 trucks aswell? I have a 2010 sierra
How did you feel your truck right after the installation of the kit, in terms of driving dynamics. Did it get stiffer? Any vibrations you didn't have before?, etc....thanks
Hey man, so I just recently put this same lift on my 07 Silverado, and I found out that Rough country makes upper control arms specifically for 2.5-3.5 and 7 inch lifts that help with the harsh angles. I ordered my a couple days ago and am installing them this weekend, but the reviews I’ve seen seem to make it worth the purchase to help a lot of the problems that are wrong with this lift, if I were you I’d look into them, may help you a little bit. Love your videos bro. Have a good one.
It would look nice if you install the rear bumper of a 2017 Silverado on to ur truck makes it look even nicer :)
They look disproportionate, even tho the brackets match I believe
Have you replaced the upper control arms yet?
good job young man
In my opinion this is the best body style out there. i have a 2014 silverado and im regretting not getting a 13
If you want a budget lift kit get zone basically same kit as BDS with minor differences
With this lift kit do we need to upgrade the upper arm control ?
My buddy bought the leveling kit from RC with that same plastic block and it ended up breaking in half sometime down the road. Couldn't drive it cause the axle would move so he had to load it on a trailer. I don't recommend anyone using RC blocks..
to much talking not enough working
He is on Hawaiian time.
Lengthy BS introduction and for sure too much talking about everything but the job
Great job, simple way to lift it some. I'm looking for ideas for my 2018 Silverado. I do tow a trailer a lot in the summer, so I don't think I want to level it that much. Did you think of adding a rear leaf and less of a block, and still get the 3½" lift?
Do an add a leaf and that’ll get you 2” off the bat
stack all 3 blocks why not
Bad ass vid
So what you going to do about the front problem
Great video by the way. Keep up the good work. I subscribed over the weekend.
Mahalo!
What’s the point of those blocks? You need them to install suspension lift kit?
What muffler do have on your truck
does this kit work for 4 wheel drives??
Love your truck but i would measure from edge of rim and i will try that liquid venom.
Is the front spacer actually 3.5”? Typically companies use 2” or 2.5” spacers to get 3” or 3.5” of lift. Geometry
What size wheel and tires are you are running
I don't really care for Rough Country lifts. But were can I get the polish you used after you washed your truck?
Chevy warranties pro comp so I put 6 inch on .
I have the same level kit on my 08 sierra. Did the same and removed stock rear(didnt know they were made to stack) blocks. Hate the lower look difference in back. Will definitely being looking into those 3" Procomps. What size tires you running, 33s or 35s? I still have stock wheels, hate the look.
33s. Might be going 35s next
Truck comes lower in the front, so I don’t understand why 2” in back and 3.5” in front isn’t level?
Nice video... You seem like a genuine dude. Hey why don’t you just get Air tools, a compressor to fill your tires and easier than air tools my opinion. A lot more toque. Okay it makes sense and you can always check wifey tires too. Good luck. 🤙
Hey Lonestar I'm trying to buy that 3 inch block that you have in the bio but it says it won't fit the 2010 Silverado. Is that why you shaved a bit from the top of the block? Hopefully this comment reaches you I can't find that 3 inch lifting block anywhere except on your link
Any vibration issues at higher speeds with the pro comp blocks? I noticed they had a slight taper to the tops of them. A friend had tapered blocks in the rear of his Silverado and had to remove them as at high speeds they made his rear driveshaft vibrate due to the angles of his input and output shafts being different. He went with non tapered blocks and poof, vibration gone as both angles (input and output shafts on rear driveshaft) were now the same so any harmonics cancelled each other out.
Darren In Canada were did he get non tapered blocks
I just asked him...He told me they were made by "Tuff Country".
Did you unbolt your shock when putting in the 3in blocks
I live in Hawaii, what's the brand of the wax and where can I buy it? Mahalo
I have a question for you or anyone else. I lifted my 2010 Chevy Silverado 1500, 3 inch spacer in front and recently bought a Monroe struts and seems like with the Monroe it raise it even higher like another inch. Now my upper control arm is resting on the bump stop and the ball joint is at an awkward position. The back has a 2 inch lift. Has anyone experienced this or anyone have an suggestion??? Thanks
Sorry my friend. I'm not familiar with the Monroe struts. Can anyone else help?
not for sure about the monroe struts unless your old struts were worn out? which would cause them to have a sag on the front end of the truck ..hence why the monroe's may sit higher..as for the ball joint ..anytime you go more than 2 to 2.5 inches higher on the front end of your particular truck i recommend going with a aftermarket upper control arm to help correct the geometry ...hope this helps
How is the Clearance between the top of your truck and your garage door? I want to do this to my 2016 Silverado but still want to park in the garage. New subscriber here
You should purchase the aftermarket upper control arms to correct the angle. Ive had that lift kit on my truck for a while and it destroyed my front end suspension. Now i need new lower ball joints, new inner and outer tie rod, new sway bar links, and new upper control arms. Ill be putting in the new uppers and everything else this weekend but i would have loved if someone told me all this info before i bought the kit. I guess you get what you pay for.
Thanks for the info. That's on my priority list for sure.
new to the truck world myself and trying to follow videos and read responses before i do anything. I want to get 20" wheels at some point and lift it a bit what do you recomend doing to prevent what you went through?
dam dude u messed up something
