    Additional tips for new inversion table users:
    1. Don't use immediately after eating or drinking, especially if going more heals over head.
    2. The height gauge is largely suggestive. If you are torso heavy, start 3" longer. (If you start to short, you may have dificulty coming back to the upright position) You should be able to invert by slowly raising your hands and extending them out SLOWLY over your head, and return to upright by lowering your arms parallel to torso. When you can do this, you have the balance set correctly for your body type. [Example: I'm 6'3", long legs, short (light) torso. My balance point is 6'0"]
    3. If a first time user, you should have someone present to assist.
    I'm not a Dr., only a frequent user. Hope this helps! Stretch well and relax!

    HELPFUL HINT: I talked to my primary care physician about this product. He is in favor of using them and he had a bit of advice. Most people cant handle being inverted for very long because of the blood rushing to the head thing and becoming uncomfortable. His advice is to pull in very deep slow breaths while inverted. This gives your lungs and body plenty of oxygen, which defeats that out of breath feeling.

      I left my inverted table, but the first time I used it I was alone and I went completely upside down like you are and my abdomen was not strong enough to get back up. I freaked out so ever since then I used the belt that they have to stop it from going back all the way. I’m too scared to try the full tilt way.

    WARNING! Before using any kind of inversion device, check with your ophthalmologist to be certain you don’t have any level of glaucoma. Inversion devices raise interocular pressure, which can lead to blindness. Glaucoma patients need to keep their heads above their hearts at all times. That means no downward dog or other yoga poses that have the head below the heart, also. There is now such a thing as “Glaucoma Yoga.” Sleep on a wedge pillow.
    Glad to see he mentioned this.

    I always enjoy your videos! I have the same model Innova table. I could never get the massage pad situated to be comfortable. Once I ditched that part, I really found the table to be quite comfortable. Maybe splitting hairs but I think there is a real difference between massage and the simple vibration the Innova pad offers.

    Dr. David, I just happened upon your videos. You have given me hope. I was told I am going to need a partial knee replacement, however, after watching your videos, I honestly think I have a meniscus tear. I told my doc that I thought it was a tear but was told they will not do surgery to repair this due
    to my age (64). However, I am as active as many 40
    year olds. Is there a cut
    off age on meniscus repair surgeries? I teach fitness classes and am muscular for my age. Thanks so much and so happy to have found your channel. God bless!

    Wow! Great video!! I have an Innova inversion table that I bought on Amazon, but it lacks the heat & massage feature. It was fairly easy to assemble, and the directions were great (but very necessary). I have a lab timer that magnetically attaches to a leg. I set the timer for 3 minutes and invert for sets of 3 minutes but only up to 9 minutes. Inversion works for my back issues. 🙃

    wouldn't hanging the right way up work just as well for decompressing the lower back? hanging from a chin up bar for example, ought to decompress the lower back with the weight of the legs. I still think inversion is useful but maybe uniquely useful for decompressing the neck which you couldn't really do upright unless you can hang onto a bar with your ears. what do you think about it for neck pain relief?

      Hi Jeff, an inversion table isn't great for anyone who is suffering from ankle, knee or hip joint issues. However, if you aren't feeling any pain you can try it out but we want to strongly advise not hang upside down. You can can try a small angle and gradually increase if you feel safe. We would highly recommend you speak to your healthcare professional for guidance before moving forward with it. 🙌

      Hey Dahniar, this device actually feels nice on the knees because it helps to take all of the pressure off of them. On a side note, the inversion table is completely in the user's control so if it does hurt they can back it off a little bit to where it does not hurt. Otherwise, it is safe for knee arthritis.

      That’s not true. FSA or HSA card can’t be used as a method of payment to checkout. It indicated not approved to purchase. Just bought one using a personal cc and delivered 2 days ago. But I will try if FSA will reimburse me.

    I have the latest inversion table. I hang for 15 - 20 minutes two times a day. It don’t do jack shit to help with my sciatica. I’m gonna try NuroMD to see what that does

    How is this on your knees?

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  Рік тому +2

      Hey Gary, this device actually feels nice on the knees because it helps to take all of the pressure off of them. On a side note, the inversion table is completely in the user's control so if it does hurt they can back it off a little bit to where it does not hurt.

      Hey Jennifer, we are so sorry to hear the inversion table did not work out well for you :-( SI joint pain tends to be complex, but by fixing the root underlying muscle imbalance, you can improve your symptoms dramatically for the long term. We have a playlist on this channel with several videos that could be of help :-) Check it out:

    You never said how often to used and how many times a day i watch the video till the end and i was waiting for it😩

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  3 місяці тому

      Hi Lorena, you can do it as many times as it feels comfortable to do so. It's important to start off gradually and to keep the angle shallow until you get to deeper angles.
      If you have any hip, knee, or ankle injuries or if you have high blood pressure you should refrain from using an inversion table. 🧡

      Hi Edwin, Thank you for sharing your experience with the inversion table! You are absolutely correct! This machine isn't for everyone but it is very helpful to many. Many of us need to experience different techniques to find what works for us. We are so sorry to hear that this didn't work for you but we hope you have been able to find something that was able to offer you some relief. Your feedback means a lot to us!

      Hi Moon, we understand what you're saying. An inversion table isn't recommended for anyone who has ankle, knee, or hip issues and for anyone who has high blood pressure.

    • @epmanualphysicaltherapy
      @epmanualphysicaltherapy  8 місяців тому

      Hey Edwin, you are absolutely right! It is not for everybody. A key component to finding relief with this table is to be able to relax some of the more active muscles in your back. We are sorry to hear you had a not-so-great experience with these.
