Some of our astute followers have noticed me slurring my words. I am not drunk but working with Brad it would be justifiable. I had 6 infected cysts removed from my mouth (noncancerous) and I have residual scar tissue and numbness. I will try to do better. Thanks Bob.

I’ve had my Teeter table about 7 years and I use it every single day first thing in the morning. I’ve had NO back pain since I started using it. I had a herniated disc and I’ve been told I have spondylitis and I don’t have any problems associated with it at all. I’m 65 years old and my doctor is always surprised I haven’t lost any height since I’ve been seeing her - 15 years with that practice. If I’ve done a lot of gardening or bending, I’ll get on it at the end of the day. I seriously feel it’s the purchase I’ve ever made.

I've had my teeter hang up for years. I used to hang at 90 degrees and do hanging sit-ups but I stopped as I thought this might be stretching the knee ligaments too much. I have found it great for those rare times I awake with a bit of a stiff neck. I just fully invert and slowly begin moving my head from side to side. Usually in less than a minute I am fine. Otherwise I set the decline to 60 degrees. I think it also helps prevent things like Vertigo attacks.

I bought an inversion table about 30 years ago and have used it every so often when dealing with sciatica and it still works fine. I started with PT in the right buttocks and changed where is kept my wallet. I received a list of stretches to perform which were demonstrated for me too along with Ultrasound treatments. I found while driving long distances that it helped placing my hand flat under my thigh close to my buttocks took pressure off that area and relieved pain too. Part of my problem was my pelvis was tilted forward possibly from weight lifting and my Chiro did adjustments for that. Eventually the right side was no longer the problem, but the left side became it with revenge with radiation down my left leg and piriformis syndrome along with Meralgia paresthetica from prolonged standing, including lower back pain/fatigue bilat. to where I had to sit down. But I do swear by my table for much relief and I will hang near vertical for 10-minutes at a time without any problems. Also, I am 70.

Tightness of muscles and ligaments are a contributor to back pain.
Regular stretching exercises, massage of the back, physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, using a foam roller and yoga are all things that can help "release" the tension. Once the area is relaxed an inversion table can help stretch the back.

I had a knock off version, it was pretty good back when I had sciatica but it was super painful on my ankles because I had a long love affair with bmx and snowboarding that had resulted in breaking my feet and ankles a few times over a couple decades. This was back before foam pits were used. I have since had the teeter that you hang from your waist and all the pressure goes to your thighs. It’s WONDERFUL and really good for doing postural chain work/gluts work.

@@davoncci I am feeling much better now. I’m about 70% recovered. I will say that the inversion table did help, HOWEVER, it is not the solution to my particular injury. On top of that, everyone’s injury is unique to them. Thus, the rehab program will differ for each person. The biggest positive impact in my recovery has been Dr. Stuart McGill and his book “Back Mechanic”. If you don’t have this book, please purchase it and read it twice! Dr. McGill saved my life and helped me avoid surgery. Which would have most likely not addressed my issue and possibly caused further damage. I’ve had 2 teeters over the years.
The one I have now, I have had for about 12. Years.
When I had sciatic/ from bulging disc I would use it, when I would come back up from inversion I would struggle to lean forward and get off, but overall I would get some benefit.
Microdisectomy in 2016, back is ok, it does play up a bit from time to time, lower back muscles seize up, I teeter and it usually improves, but since surgery I can get off teeter with ease. Best thing for me is pressure pointing up and down my back with tennis balls to release muscles along with some teetering.

My go to, is decompressing over a large gym ball (an excercise from these guys!!) hold onto a fixed point and let my bodyweight do the rest. its as gentle or as agressive as i need and i get instant releif without the need to adjust settings...
so a table is great... but honestly for $30 a gym ball will do a similar job.

I've got a bunch of stuff going on... a little bit of arthritis in my hips and back, a disk that likes to bulge when things are out of whack, and some piriformis syndrome. After a bunch of strenuous work, I know what is coming... And I have routine for getting going that works really great for me and only takes like 10 minutes to do...
First, after the hard work, I drink a bunch of water and let all my muscles get tight like they normally do, to the point I start loosing my mobility. I then do a series of let stretches on my bed, then I get on the floor with varying sizes of rubber balls to further loosen things up. Then I move onto using a 200lb workout strap anchored to a wall to decompress my hips and some other things. If all that didn't set me right, I hit the inversion table... And, because I'm right hand dominant I can really feel the twisting tightness throughout my body unpacking when on the table. And if that did not bring relief, the dead last I will support my chest and torso with Yoga bolsters and decompress my hips and shoulders by allowing them to hang off the sides. This routine always brings me back, and I really dread the day it comes when it ceases to work... And once all straightened out, I'm also a little warmed up. So I finish off with some kettlebell swings, squats, and snatches....
Most of my right side pain comes from doing everything right handed... so when doing yard work I force myself to do stuff left handed too to balance out the workload...
Anyhow, I wanna thank Bob and Brad for giving me ideas to add to my routine. Which has helped keep me from returning to alcohol for relief... which long term is no solution and only exacerbates the problem.

I've had bad back pain for about 5-6 months and I am booked in to see a spinal surgeon in a week.
I have been to the Dr, a physio, a chiropractor, and a osteopath while taking pain meds proscribed by the Dr.
From the x-ray (nothing) CT scan (nothing) and the MRI they finally found I have 2 protruding disk's - L4 and L5 pushing on my nerve.
Nothing was working and I had pain down my left leg and toes.
At times I was getting tingling down my leg and foot like it was all going to sleep.
I didn't know these tables were available until I saw this video.
I ordered one the next day (the Teeter X3) and two days after I received it and started using it, I heard and felt a pop/click in the spot at the top/mid part of my bum where it feels like I have a permanent bee sting or bruised feeling.
Today I have been able to get around and feel better - not perfect - but much, much better.
Thank you to Bob and Brad for your informative, enjoyable videos you make trying help people like me who are in constant pain.
The table is a definite keeper.
    👍👍👍👍👍👍👍.

I messed up about it being c4 and c5, I should have put L4 and L5.
It has helped a lot, so much in fact that I don't have any pain or take any meds anymore.
I do find I get what I call a "tired" back some days, maybe about once a month and that's when I'll have a go on it.
I tend to watch what and how much I lift/carry now as I never want to feel as bad as I did.
I also haven't had to have surgery.

I used to have an inversion table (not Teeter) and gave it away because I have a bad ankle and it hurt to hang. I got an inversion chair a few years ago and love it. What's your take on the chairs? Do I get as much traction? You said to hang for a minute? I get on that thing and hang for 30 minutes or more. It feels so good. I need to get back to using it regularly. Do you think the table would be better than the chair? I have a Teeter piece of exercise equipment (forget what it's called) and it's very well made. They're a good company, although a bit over priced.

    • @thews9237

As a PT myself with spondy it helps me. Everybody is a little different but it won’t hurt to try. You have a slight “slippage” or anterior translation of your vertabrae. Increasing flexibility around the area can take pressure off. See a good PT around you to teach you the do’s and Dont’s of exercises when you have spondylolisthesis.

For some obscure reason, British pilots had to be a certain height to go into the RAF. The shorter candidate put themselves on traction to try to pass the height requirement. You do wonder sometimes what idiot makes up the rules. My dad who had disc problems used to hang himself from the door frame to stretch his spine. ( With his hands.)

the inversion tables are OK however they all lack a near miraculous simple modification.
my inversion machine has a cross pipe which is attached to the stationary stand which is in contact with the floor.
I attached some bicycle handles to this pipe on either side, and by pushing on these handles I can increase the back-stretching tension by at least twice, the amount of weight that I can press-lift.
Next, if I turn my hands over so that my palms are facing up, I can increase the stretching force even higher while I am swinging back.
After a long walk to loosen the back, I can sometimes get a satisfying pop during the power backswing with the palms facing up, , and I know that I am in for a week of very low pain.
    Yay !
