If you are wondering if traction is right for you but not quite ready to go out and buy an inversion table try these techniques first ua-cam.com/video/VCUQAHQNzRY/v-deo.html
From the episode notes: Bob (the tall one) has been diagnosed with Ataxia. It affects his balance and his speech, but does not affect his thinking. We appreciate your understanding and support!
Same for me!!! This past weekend I got my inversion table and literally my second time using it, my extreme lower back popped a couple times similar to knuckles cracking and I’ve been pain free ever since. I’ve had significant pain on and off for the last 20 years but it was lingering pretty bad these last couple months. I’m amazed at how much better I feel now after using a teeter inversion table.
I have been using inversion for around 20 years, and after all this time I now can barley feel a difference in my head pressure at all and I am turning 65 in a few months. Inversion saved me from a life of immobility. before inversion I had tried the best chiropractors in the country. Helped for a bit but never a fix. Inversion fixed me. Having said that I do believe not all people should use it due to health reasons. Talk to the Doc first.
Bob, you are an inspiration. I have avoided conversations due to Covid brain fog, but I can see you coping and contributing and you’re doing great. I see we don’t have to say a whole lot to still be a lively part of the conversation.
One reason I came to this video actually is because I saw that inversion can be helpful to improve blood circulation to the brain to improve brain fog (covid, long-covid, or otherwise). Of course, with all the precautions mentioned here in the video. But for the circulation improvement, you gotta be getting a bit of leg movement in during the day as well to boost the pumping at other end, especially the calf muscle (second heart).
@@Duckmaster82 I am talking about the potential long-term effects of Covid on blood circulation, blood clotting, and blood-oxygen levels. Which of course, the delivery of oxygen affects every organ or system in the body. The vaccine is shown to reduce the severity of these negative effects on average for people who get Covid. So no, I am not talking about vaccine injury.
Yes, I couldn't agree more with all the recommendations. I have been using an inversion table for many years and I learned by my own practice too. I used to do complete inversions but I think it's not necessary also. You will find your joints relief with just a little bit of inclination. And that's correct, find balance first because it will help easily to recover the standing position. So thank you so much, it's a really helpful video.
Love you guy's. I had quit using my inversion table because it made me nauseous. You just showed me everything I was doing wrong, Thank You!!! Keep up the good work.
I love my Teeter Inversion Table! I purchased it from the Healthy Back Store in northern Virginia in January 1998 on clearance of the 1997 inventory: after all these years I need to bring it to a local upholstery shop to have him replace the original canvas with new strong material otherwise I would purchase a new canvas if they were in production. I love staying in parallel to the ground because it is as close to zero gravity as possible and easy for me to fall asleep. I do go full inversion; however I must stay relaxed and calm because after a few minutes gravity will pull my spine and I can hear and feel the popping and then the stress release. It isn't a cure, but I have less pain and greater flexibility.
Thanks a Milly Brad and Bob! Your videos have helped immensely. So again thank you so much, and so sincerely, From my family, friends, my left ankle, my wife's right hip/sciatica... The list goes on and on LOL we're happy to be on the food chain and happier well we're here thanks to you
Love the Channel !! This video helped me decide to use, and use an inversion table safely. After a bad bout with Sciatica- I purchased an inversion table at Amazon ($150) and I use it every morning for about 5min - about 35degrees. I use the table right out of bed. 35 degrees is fine- don't get dizzy or get headaches- you don't need to go upside down...Start slow...A 5 min decompress each morning goes a long way to healing.....My lower back will tell me if I forget to use it or travel.....like Bob and Brad- my PT and Chiro are supportive of me using this device- but in the correct way.
i have been suffering from 2 bulging disc and siatica in my right leg, got my self an inversion table and i inverted 3 times a day 15 min each for 4 days no more pain in my leg nor in my back still needs to work out my back (almost lost hope)
I have used an Inversion table for over 20 years now and would not go a day without it. I can't believe you said you "Don't need it any more". I no longer feel any different when going from standing to full inversion, unless I have been away from inversion for more than a couple days. I feel so much more relaxed and ready to start my day after the inversion. I can do a couple minutes or a full upper body work out and either way will feel great when getting off of it for the day. I do sometimes hang again if I've been doing a lot of yard work, bending and lifting, but I will only do it if I haven't had solid food for at least 3 hours before. That's one of the more important "Mistakes" you missed pointing out. Don't have big breakfast and then go hand upside down!! I'm in my later 60's now and will invert daily for many more years I hope.
Love your videos! Your guys are great together. Love your chemistry and expertise. Your videos are fun, and so much joy as well as educational. Thank you so much. Keep in happy positive spirits. Not only do you guys help me but you guys make my day even better. Thank you Bob and Brad! Also i couldn’t imagine you ever guys doing a solo video or with another person. lol. You guys are a awesome team. Thanks again!
I would not be without my inversion table.... Usually no need to go totally upside down.... And yes, you need to be careful using them....I have fallen out of mine more than once.... Alternating the inversion table with an "oxygenator: on the floor for several sets is amazing ...
I have a hip problem. The top-right side of my hip in the back sticks out further than the opposite side and it causes a lot of discomfort when sitting. I thought an inversion table would fix this but it literally does nothing for my hip. Cracking my mid/lower back relieves the pain but it does not fix the issue.
Back when I bought mine, I had researched the best one and found the Ironman was the best rated (but maybe Teeter has improved..)... and it helped me a lot for a couple years. It's on my carport now because yes, it takes up a lot of room! Very helpful, tho
Yes, I have an Ironman as well, bought it in 2016. It's helped me out quite a bit when my back and neck needs to be realigned. When I use it for 10 minutes or so I noticed that I gained half an inch in height.
I think there's a few misconceptions here. You are supposed to work your way to a full incline, and removing the strap and hanging a full 180 is how that looks. The strap is like baby-wheels on a bike. The first tries you will feel a strong head rush, but after a few days or weeks it should subside and you'll feel great when coming back up.
I used one of these for years, and it helped me to avoid a second back surgery. I used to fall asleep while hanging. It would always be the best sleep of my life. I torqued my back again sneezing a few years back. Since that point on, inversion made things worse.
My lower back is crushed so I like to hang upside down relax and then jerk with a hard pull and release the lower spine like when you pull out your knuckles on your fingers. It’s scary as hell the first time you do it but when you get good at it it’s pretty fantastic 🏆 It’s not going to untwist my pelvis but it helps get some oxygen to those discs at the bottom of my back 💫 I’m 45, the compression injury was 10 years ago and I’ve been using this ever sense.
it's great for my spondylolisthesis. but i killed my back putting it together. also. I finally got it once we got the house. do not buy it if you're in one bedroom apt with all your stuff. it needs half the living room.
Great video. Had a table for a few years and worked great. Got rid of it cause taking up too much space but now needing another one. Have you guys seen the “Backlounge Inversion Table”, any thoughts? Really considering buying as it’s compact and easier storage compared to a full sized one.
We are getting an ep970 for my Husband so he can keep up with his ju jitsu classes (he/we already gets lower spine nerve blocks by doc & he suggested the inversion at Husband's last appt). Hopefully he can avoid surgery with the therapy. I on the other hand have had multiple spine sugeries since age 19 (I'm 53 now). Around age 30 my 5 yr old full hardware 3 level lower fusion collapsed and a more competent surgeon removed 95% of the hardware & refused it with a great deal of success!! But over time osteoarthritis, spondylosis, stenosis, etc set in and I'll never be rid of severe pain unless a bit of light inversion therapy could help. My pain mngt doc already has me doing gentle traction on my fused cervical spine (I'll have another fusion above that one next month). I am VERY hopeful to be able to save my T spine somehow , maybe even with gentle inversion therapy. 🙏🏻 Has anyone else here tried it with the same or similar issues as mine? Any tips, thoughts etc is very welcomed. Thanks for the video!😊🌻
I went all the way the first day and have been in pain on my lower back and can bearly move my neck to drive!! Incredibly painful and negative if you don’t follow the instructions 😅
You should keep using it as a preventative measure otherwise natural compression will continue to occur and without decompression you will end up with back problems again.
I bought a teeter hoping the traction would help. Unfortunately using it was painful for my back and I was unable to relax. I don't want to give up after one try. What do you suggest if using it causes pain? I have spondylolithesis 4 over 5 and arthritis

If you're even moderately overweight, all that (forgive me) blubber slides down or, more correctly, UP. My belly slid to my rib cage, my boobs shifted to my collar bone, & my chins landed under my nose. No thanks--was NOT relaxing at any inversion degree.
I could not use it since I had C3C6 fusion I tryed at my neighbors house for minutes not going back to much like at 15. I felt like my back fusion Was coming apart
Going full head down the first time sent me into A-fib with RVR. Heart rate went to 230bpm and I had to be cardioverted 2 days later after the hospital couldn’t get the rate down with Cardizem. I’m athletic and have zero history of heart disease. BE CAREFUL!
My dad used his inversion boots into his 70's (in the late 1990's)... hanging from a bar in a doorway, using a rope to help him get hooked up and unhooked. DESPITE having broken his back and neck while in the Navy in 1939, having high blood pressure AND having a partially detached retina from running into a tree while walking down a slope and losing his balance. He did not like the table that much because HIS had little in the way of adjustment. If I used it as a young thin teenager I was fine, but when I gained some weight in college and after, I was top heavy....
@@Xrispy_Yream_Zonuts He was a small man, smaller than his older brothers, largely because the older brothers were living with their eldest sister when their dad developed problems and could not work (back in the 1920's so any "assistance" would have meant the children would be taken away and probably sterilized), so instead they grew their own food and protein was limited... which was why my dad was short. In the Navy at 18-19, during a blackpout on the USS San Francisco, he was running messages to the bridge and a grate o barrier was missing, and he fell 30 feet down to a wooden portion of the deck (thus broken back, neck and elbows/wrists... they told him of the arm injuries, not the spinal ones). Released from the Navy, when Pearl Harbor occurred he was first in line at the recruiting office, the Navy refused him and the Army took him, limited service. After 6 months, he was sent to Italy until his arms started giving trouble and he was released again medical discharge. In his 70's, he climbed up every tree in the yard and cut them down piece by piece from the top down, lowering each piece via a rope... over 15 trees... Yes, he was a determined man... not a savage, quite peaceful, but one who never gave up until forced to by health issues.
@@shdwbnndbyyt That is a beautiful monument to the love for a father by his son I didn’t mean “savage” in the urban sense of the word. It just means someone whom one underestimates at their own peril. He was in great pain and pushed through it until he earned his wings.
@@Xrispy_Yream_Zonuts Mind you, most of the pre-WW2 stories I heard from his elder brothers or my mom... my dad did not talk about them to his four sons... he just was not that type of man. Interestingly his eldest brother Tolbert (18 years older, their eldest sister was 21 years older than my dad) told the story on how when he was being shipped home from the North Africa, Sicily and initial Italian peninsula campaigns, he and all of those going home were on one side of a big hedge and all of those coming off the boat were on the other side. He figures that he and my dad were within 10 yards of each other... my dad coming off the same boat that took my uncle home.
Tok late, did my mistakes. I liked bouncing up and down until comfy till I was head down. 🙈🙈🙈 Weeee! 🎉🙈🙈😂😂😂😂 Yet, my fav is 40-60°C I could sleep like that (bradicardic, I could sleep like that 😂😂😂)
("...when looking for an inversion table make sure to buy one that allows you to completely dangle...so you can hold a weight!!"...)("...I have an L4/L5 bulge that abuts the nerve...and it takes a 35lb weight, and for me to completely dangle with it, for decompression to occur...")
How long is too much of you aren't having negative effects.... By too much I mean the amount of time that does not give returns or stops being theraraputic.
I had a chiropractor put me on an inversion table once. He knew that I had hypermobile joints and was 265lbs. He tilted the table down at least 25-30 degrees from horizontal and left me there for 10 minutes. It felt like I nearly dislocated both knees (which were already problematic), my right hip (which is what I was there for), my right SI joint, and my L5/S1. I was crying by the time one of the other patients noticed and went to find the chiropractor because he put me on the table and just left the room to do something else until the timer went off. My lower back and right SI joint have been problematic ever since and it's been over a decade. I will never let anyone put me on an inversion table again.

@@shdwbnndbyyt That is a beautiful monument to the love for a father by his son
I didn’t mean “savage” in the urban sense of the word.
Can I use this for prolaps
I use mine, my chiropractor said don’t hang completely upside down like a bat.
Full inversion is the only true way to feel like Batman.
Why didn't you bring it back up and get off it?
How about you blame your obesity instead of the table 😂😂😂😂😂
I WANT to hang up side down. Oooh just imagining it makes me feel better! LoL

I'd make the second mistake.
My knees couldn't handle the pull. Maybe I was going too long. I got rid of it a while ago.
Y'all can have mine, no way will I ever get back on one. My ankles and back can't handle it, for days the pain is crazy.
