    Just trying to get more familiar with this camera. Today I am trying out the FotoDiox Pro Fusion ND Throttle Lens Adapter that has a built in Variable ND Filter on the Sony A6500 with Picture Profile 3. No color grading outside of a basic S-Curve and White Balance.

    Could you please do a "With" Fotodiox ND and a "Without", so we can see the difference?

    Metabones Speedboster and Fotodiox ND Throttle should mate a have a baby ;)
    Kinda contradicting though. One gives you an extra stop lighter, the other one makes it darker.

    Can the Sigma Art 18-35 be used with this setup????

    nice video. I guess there are different things to consider. It's nice to have internal ND but at the same time you need to have also a dummy adapter for when shooting inside without ND. And nowadays with all the E mount lenses, it's difficult to choose whether to go for EF or E mount native and just put the filter in front of the lens. It's a tough call for me

    Thanks for the information. I have a question. It's a heavy Lens. How do you mount this setup on a tripod. Do you use this thread under the lens (1:32) for tripod setup? Any recommendations?
    My Camera is a A6400. Thanks

    Did you find the ND throttle greasy? I have this problem with their nikon-m43 version

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому

      Which version do you have? This is the Fusion adapter (with electronics). I did not find this one greasy.

    do you know of a built in nd filter like this one but does not adapt to ef, and just keeps the e mount. I already have a couple of sony lenses and just want a built in nd filter so i don't have to do step rings

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  4 роки тому

      That’s not possible. You can only adapt to a larger lens. Otherwise you will see the inside of a smaller lens when you put an adapter in between. Like looking through a tube. Native Lenses are also optimized to focus light perfectly to hit the sensor, and adding anything in between, the light will no longer hit the sensor so the image will be out of focus.

    nice video. what are the default settings of picture profiles 3 and 4 again? i just got the a6500 in addition to my a7s ii, and i already changed the picture profiles so i don't remember what they were anymore. thanks.

      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому

      It won't say a profile name like ''Faithful' exactly, but if you need to reset the profile, just go into the profile scroll down and click reset. It will bring that one single profile back to it's default settings. I'm about to upload a very hard grade on these same video clips. I wanted to see how much I could push it around and see how well it could hold up. I think it held up better than trying to tweak SLOG on this camera.

    Doesnt this change teh distance between the lens and sensor? Is that not problematic?

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  5 років тому

      Yes it changes the distance. But because you will be using a lens designed for a different camera with this adapter, you need to change the distance. That is the only way the image will be in focus when it hits the smaller sensor.

    • @simplysimon1918
      @simplysimon1918 5 років тому

      @@MrCheesyCam No I get that, but when you add the additional adapter for the ND doesn't it change the distance even more?

    hi i thought of buying Sony a6500 so can i use Fotodiox Vizelex ND Throttle Auto for that and i will be using full frame lens will i get full use use of the lens in aps-c camera like a Speedbooster ?? and also if know some some lens Adapter for a6500 using full frame lens let me know

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому

      No the ND adapter does not work as a speedbooster.

    • @pramodjois822
      @pramodjois822 7 років тому

      ok is there any other company who makes like speedbooster
      ?? for Sony a6500 and gh5 because i want to use full frame lens

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому

      +pramod jois There are many companies that make speedboosters, but not Speedbooster + ND filter at the same time. You have to use one or the other.

    Do they make a straight amount to amount version? I don't seem to see it, but would love to have one to avoid dealing wth nd filters.

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому

      Yes they do. For FotoDiox if it says 'fusion' then the adapter will let the Lens communicate with the Camera body. Here's a Fusion Canon EF to Sony: amzn.to/2jbOcJW
      If you just need an adapter for manual lenses with no communication, then they also have this: amzn.to/2jnkJMl

    • @jakemorrow5235
      @jakemorrow5235 7 років тому

      I think he means do they make an EF to EF adapter that just has the ND part in the middle. So a Canon lens on a Canon body but using the adapter to not have to deal with filter NDs or a Matte Box

    • @ericknorpp8238
      @ericknorpp8238 7 років тому

      I think he is referring to a Sony to Sony which does not exist. In order to use ND's like this with out having to use ND's on the front of the lens. I sure hope sony some how put's in body ND's on their next camera. I also hope Sony steps it up a notch considering the specs of the new GH5.

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому

      Ah misunderstood. I thought he wanted a straight adapter with no ND inside. Yeah that's not possible.

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому +1

      I think I misunderstood your question. They will not have an adapter like this for a native lens to a native camera body. Lenses are designed so that the glass elements focus perfectly against the sensor. If you move the lens away further the image won't be in focus when it hits the sensor (flange distance).
      The only reason this works with other lenses (like Canon to Sony E) is because the Canon lens is designed to focus an image further away from a sensor. So you need an adapter to make the image hit the sensor at a certain distance and be in focus.

    I believe this is not just an ND filter adapter it also works with auto focus with Canon lens therefore your nice Cinema lens are not going to work.

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому +1

      Yes t supports autofocus for Canon EF lenses. But What exactly do you mean by 'Nice Cinema Lenses not going to work?'. If you haven't noticed there is a nice Cinema Lens on here already working.

    • @WaynesWorldStudioVancouver
      @WaynesWorldStudioVancouver 7 років тому

      Thank you for the reply, I didn't know the Xeen is an auto Cinema lens? Good to know. Will you able to film the Xeen autofocus working with the FotoDiox Pro Fusion adapter in the future video. Thanks.

    • @MrCheesyCam
      @MrCheesyCam  7 років тому +4

      Ok I think you are confused. If you say Cinema Lens, then Cinema lenses are not autofocus. Look at Canon CNE, or Zeiss CP2, or Xenon, or Veydra, etc. True Cinema Lenses are Manual Focus and Manual iris.

    • @WaynesWorldStudioVancouver
      @WaynesWorldStudioVancouver 7 років тому

      Sorry for the confusion with my English, I always enjoy your video good review and contents. I believe the ProfordioX Fusion ND Filter you are reviewing also has the TWO main functions: One is the ND Filter system you have clearly explained and the Second is the Auto Focus using with the Canon EF lens, again Sean Anderson from FotoDiox did reply back to me, it will NOT work for all Canon EF lens. I guess you are focusing the ND filter system than both functions of the adapters. Hope this made it clear for the people looking to buy an adapter not just for video but for photography if needed. Thank you. #Vancouverfilmmaker
