To be honest the default Broken Lords are not that far away from what spiff made (they can even declare war). They are the best mid/late game faction due to how easily they can spam cities and whole armies in one turn. In fact this version of lord is weaker due to not being able to declare war by mid game the bug faction has 20 something pop in most cities and if you take over they become broken lord making you tons of cash a turn.
I remember all the wonderful hours I spent in this amazing game. Just relaxing while I explore the world. Never thought it would be exploited like this by the Tea overlord himself

You should check out what happens if you play a large world and take over the oceans as the water people (Morguar). I spent maybe 400k dust on each new city, and made it back in about 1-3 turns, depending on winter or not. Edit: I was also making so much influence that despite having ~20 cities, I was selecting tier 4 of all 4 sections on the empire plan every time, and all my units had a massive increase to attack, defense, hp, etc.

Was a bit disappointed that custom factions were used, but it was pretty fun to see the dust economy scaling so fast. This is a good example why you shouldn't play with custom factions.
I basically did this, albeit a bit slower, with the Broken Lords when the game first came out. Beautifully crafted 4x, by the way, glad to see the love it is getting still to this day.
When i started to play endless legends 5 years ago or so ... i was surprised how complex some equipment and army composition can be, had a lot of fun with all the updates and theeeennnn... then i played the broken lords and couldnt believe my eyes when exactly this happened what spiff pulled in this video, with the exception that i went for every victory type i had enabled, the final screen was my armies around the enemies capitol and behind those armies 5 more tiles in all directions of armies, just fully decked out in highest tier armor and weapons... Money rules in the endless games... Endless space 2 simply being able to build an unbreakable phalanx of defensive fleets that hold your borders against even late game arcs with the appropriate battle tactics chosen against the enemy weapons they dont quite have such an auto-win race like the broken lords, but sitting in your corner with your ever growing sphere of influence that lets you just buy enemy star systems through political power is stupid enough, when your defensive ring of influence just keeps buying out everything.

I love this game so much, in part because the balance is so asymmetrical. Granted, Spiff definitely broke this thing, but really all he did was arrive at where you're supposed to a bit sooner. Every faction has abilities that would be "overpowered" in other 4X's I've played, but it's surprisingly well tuned against the abilities of the other factions.
The fun thing about this is... It wasnt even micromanaged or anything... Rivers werent exploited, the district cost reduction wasnt exploited (which he took a perk for)... He slammed down the "wonder" in a place it couldnt even get to lvl 2 (which increases its bonus) And its still amazing :D Thank you my tea lurking friend :D
And here I thought I broke the game with my custom necrophages that turned my enemies into food that I could sell back to them for ridiculous amounts of gold that I could use to fund my enormous army that just slaughtered more enemies producing more food and gold... But you good sir. You have shown me the light. If you take the necrophage racial trait and combine it with this racial trait you no longer need food so you can build a massive army that turns all of your enemies into food that you can sell back to your enemies for massive amounts of gold. And since your playing necrophage all de-buffs on food production gives you a huge number of points that can easily be spent on even more gold boosting bonuses. Sir you have made my day!
Heard "custom faction creator", instantly lost interest... You're not exploiting a broken system, you're creating a broken system using custom settings.. So boring.
Kinda agree, even if I found the video hilarious, anyone who's played EL enough knows the custom faction feature has millions of broken builds for any faction, using Broken Lords isn't even the craziest one (Allayi without Chosen Few are insane). That's why any sensible EL player never uses custom ones and any multiplayer host always bans them, cause the basic factions are balanced with disadvantages by design and it's what makes them fun.
Dear Mr Brit, i have been watching your channel lets say for 2 years now and even though im Scottish and have now become extremely English loving tea, queen and all that. All i am really asking is how do you go about your daily quest for game breaking Exploits. If you actually read this thank you for your content, im not gonna say how it saved my life or anything but just that it has given me a good laugh and sometimes that's the only thing people need to make there day just that much more special. 18:42 “anyways, do you know what happens when you press the LIKE VEDEO ON THIS BUTTON” He’s so hopped up on the power of tea that he’s losing the ability to speak. Love it.
And this is why you always ban custom faction in multiplayer! I'd love to see you exploit the game with a default faction as custom factions are insanely easy to exploit. That said, hilarious video, and I love EL. Definitely hope Admiral Armchairs keeps playing it, as imo it's vastly more fun to play/watch than Civ!
Necrophage army stacks or silly Wild Walker production bonuses (5 turn Wonder lmao) are the closest the default factions come to this, as far as I'm aware. I'm told the Allayi and Ardent Mages can do some crazy stuff too though, I've just never done it myself.

The game is actually balanced he just went into the settings and broke it no exploit
yeah pretty dumb you can make lots of broken classes that way and win against default ones every time.
hmmm... Sounds like the very definition of exploit
Broken Lords were my favourite from the beginning! I didn't play for a while, but it's nice to see that they still deserve the name
Well sure, you can make a broken faction... What do you do when you're forced to play default races?
Necrophage steamroll or Wild Walkers building the Wonder 5 turns after unlocking it
Go claim the ocean. I've done so in an MP game and reached six digits dust income. Balance is just a suggestion, after all.
It is still the Broken Lords so they’re still very broken
Sending love from the USA..just ordered a spiffco tea mug and some Yorkshire tea.. can’t wait to try it!
Where's my gugesss at ✌️
coolieo dode what up my guge 👌👌
How you doing my guge???
When i started to play endless legends 5 years ago or so ... i was surprised how complex some equipment and army composition can be, had a lot of fun with all the updates and theeeennnn...
then i played the broken lords and couldnt believe my eyes when exactly this happened what spiff pulled in this video, with the exception that i went for every victory type i had enabled, the final screen was my armies around the enemies capitol and behind those armies 5 more tiles in all directions of armies, just fully decked out in highest tier armor and weapons... Money rules in the endless games...
Endless space 2
simply being able to build an unbreakable phalanx of defensive fleets that hold your borders against even late game arcs with the appropriate battle tactics chosen against the enemy weapons
they dont quite have such an auto-win race like the broken lords, but sitting in your corner with your ever growing sphere of influence that lets you just buy enemy star systems through political power is stupid enough, when your defensive ring of influence just keeps buying out everything.
Have to honest the best way to watch this stuff is absolutely stoned! Non of it makes any sense but it's brilliant! Wabam!! And digestive biscuits with your tea
I listen to your voice when I can't fall asleep at night. THANK YOU!!! YOU ARE MY HERO!!!
"4X stands for Xplore, Xpand, Xploit, and Xterminatus! The whole 4X genre is effectively British colonial simulator, it's fantastic!"
*realisation sets in*
Ah, so gamers would've been the colonists back in 16-19th century, huh...
Love the content Spiffing Brit! By far the most entertaining content creator!
"Right of Way"
"RIGHT of Way"
right side is right side @ The Spiffing Brit
I would love to see the shenanigans this Yorkshire Tea sycophant could do in Wasteland 2 before 3 drops. Love these videos!
“There are a lot of exploits”
“So what you are going to want to do is immediately cheat”
I love how all the youtubers I like somehow know about Warhammer: 40k. This makes me happy.
Spiff, do you watch TTS?
The Exterminatus gif implies yes, but that gif is pretty common on r/Grimdank
I love this game so much, in part because the balance is so asymmetrical. Granted, Spiff definitely broke this thing, but really all he did was arrive at where you're supposed to a bit sooner. Every faction has abilities that would be "overpowered" in other 4X's I've played, but it's surprisingly well tuned against the abilities of the other factions.
"Exploit"
uses custom factions...
Hey, it’s still an exploit
The fun thing about this is...
It wasnt even micromanaged or anything...
Rivers werent exploited, the district cost reduction wasnt exploited (which he took a perk for)...
He slammed down the "wonder" in a place it couldnt even get to lvl 2 (which increases its bonus)
And its still amazing :D
Thank you my tea lurking friend :D
Sir, now you have to exploit Dawn of War.
Love all the Endless games, this was very entertaining :D
B u t Spiff....
It's an "Endless" Title. Of course it has near infinite exploits.
Hardly an exploit. Welcome to an average game of the Broken Lords.
Yes! Finally this game, spent like 20 hour in the last 4 days going through a 600 turn game.
The same strat is viable with base broken lords, just not to the same ridiculous extent
I would actually love to see a three episode series of him continuing this and curb stomping the enemy ai into MORE dust
Dear Mr Brit, i have been watching your channel lets say for 2 years now and even though im Scottish and have now become extremely English loving tea, queen and all that. I have been wanting to ask you a question for a long time now, that being how to you come across the ingenious Exploits that you seem to have an abundance of.
All i am really asking is how do you go about your daily quest for game breaking Exploits.
If you actually read this thank you for your content, im not gonna say how it saved my life or anything but just that it has given me a good laugh and sometimes that's the only thing people need to make there day just that much more special.
Sincerely Scottish man who pretends to be an English man who loves Imperialism.
Ahhh yes everytime i come home from work this reminds me to make a cup of tea before i settle! Good show!
Such a underrated game series
18:42 “anyways, do you know what happens when you press the LIKE VEDEO ON THIS BUTTON”
He’s so hopped up on the power of tea that he’s losing the ability to speak. Love it.
Yet another heartwarming and informative video. The goodness must be endless.
Endless Legend! Yes! I've long been hoping that you'd make a video about it ^-^
And this is why you always ban custom faction in multiplayer!
Spiff: makes video about cheeseing dust
Also spiff: calls dust gold
Ask and ye shall receive! Before I properly watch this, I’m going to make some of the Yorkshire Tea Gold That I bought just because of Spiff’s pronunciation, salute the Queen, and leave a like. Thank you for breaking this game I love, Spiff Co!
Love the Broken Lords and they are already really op when you get a good dust start.
