I’ve been watching this video on and off for over twenty years (been a big fan since 1976), and every time I think the same thing in that moment. I’m always impressed that she can recover and sing that final line. And she does have that moment when she realizes how deep she went. 🌈💕✨
The thing to remember about Fleetwood Mac, beyond how F'd up the band dynamic was, if they are consumate performers. I'm willing to bet there's more than a little bit of performance in those looks shot at one another after all these years. Right after it happened? Oh I'm sure the "fuck you muchly" aura was THICK for the first tour or so after, but by this time? Nah, that's just little performance Easter Eggs for the fans that know the back story. What you see in their eyes certainly has memory, but also appreciation. They're not deaf as they stand up there, and they know how powerful a performance they're delivering.
Well said, that's the emotional wisdom of age not understood by those still young, on top of the professional appreciation of true musicians for each other being able to put aside personal grievances for the music❣
No no she MEANT it, this isn't solely performance (although it may have played a part). On this same tour she got so emotional singing this song she began to cry and couldn't finish and Lindsey had to finish it for her. Then the very next night she sung it again and got emotional again and Lindsey had to comfort her.
Fleetwood Mac is such a shitshow of emotions within a group,,,, (what with all the inter-relationship fall outs).... but it somehow worked.. and produced some of the best music we've ever had.. ever. its amazing.
Silver Springs was snubbed and not released on the Rumours album in 1977,instead it was put on the B side of the single,'Go Your Own Way'.The live performance here is from 'The Dance',a HBO concert from 1997.I personally think they really never got over each other, they both wrote other songs about each other, but this one is great!
@@markabusireactions The 1977 version is a little different, not the intense passion put in the live version, still,I agree, should have been on the Album. That pretty much was a slap in the face to be put on a B side single that your ex wrote and sang about you. This performance by her was 20 years in the making of getting to finally perform this and she really made the best of it.
The B side recording was my first introduction to this amazing song. It's still my favorite version but still an amazing song regardless of the version. Her voice has definitely matured since the 70s and the highest notes are missing now... still incredible emotion.
Per Stevie’s autobiography, Gold Dust Woman. In Aspen, Co. after their final argument/break-up, Lyndsey left Stevie stranded in Aspen. She pinned this song. I truly appreciate that you know the background of the Band.
it wasnt an autobiography, she didnt write it. she wrote this pretty early on. she wanted it on Rumours but mick said no because of time constraints. she was pissed. they had gone to aspen and then he was asked to play a tour with the everly brothers. she stayed in aspen. she was pissed. when he came back she told him to take the car, she was flying back to LA
Definitely my favorite live performance out of many great performances. FM started before I was born, and I'm not very young anymore. But I've followed their journey for 30 years and know the entire history, which makes this performance so incredibly powerful. It makes me tear up every time. I know a lot of people know exactly how she felt.
From what I understand, a couple of concerts after this, before the show, she found out his girlfriend and current wife was pregnant. She couldn't finishing the song from crying and left the stage leaving him to finishing the song. Oof
Even if you knew nothing about about this band, this song, or it's history, and you just happened across this video, by the end, you would know what was up. It's all there in the expressions, the lyrics and the pain laid out for the whole world to see. Magical, , beautiful and haunting performance for the ages.
Fokkin Beautiful reaction dude ... gotta be one of my all time Favorite Reactions Evah !!😂😂 When you noticed the looks Stevie was throwing at lyndsey and the lyrics all about him !!🤣🤣 Forking Hell I'll watch your reaction a Bunch of times !👍🏼 "You'll never get away, never get away, Never get AWAY !!" 🎤🎶🤘🏼
I _adore_ your reaction and commentary. Fleetwood Mac recorded their best songs during their most turbulent time. You know the story. Individually they did okay, especially Stevie - but together they were gold.
Great reaction video….appreciated the comments. I’m just myself learning about the video from TikTok so loving the reactions now bc I’m also reacting about 25 years late 😂
I don't entirely think this is as awkward as it seems. No doubt they're leaning fully in to all the baggage that everyone knows about from the making of Rumours, but I think they're consummate artists and professionals, there's a lot of showmanship, and they just aren't afraid to mutually tap in to it. Cause 20 years and multiple relationships between them later I struggle to believe there's still legitimate animosity there during this.
#1 this video is over 30 years ago!!! don't you think if they wanted to be together they would be. they moved on years and years ago. Lindsay physically and mentally abused her. Linds is divorced and they're not running to each other, they're acting😮 lol
I think this song should have gone on Rumours instead of "Go Your Own Way". Go your own way is a bit more upbeat so I can see the decision that they made to cut this one. Both breakup songs, both great!
Silver Spring longs about Stevie’s dreams of a normal relationship. Silver Springs is suburb of DC. She liked the name. It became the story of his infidelity and emotional abuse over 8 years. “You’ll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you,” is her promise that she will be a superstar and her voice would be everywhere he turned. She did that. The song was pulled off Rumours for length. I suspect it was pulled off because LB couldn’t handle it. He’s the one pouring sweat on stage, not her. He pulled the “I’m the creative genius” card and Warner Brothers and the band had no idea what Nicks would become. She kept her later plans to release solo material quiet. If you listen to this recording in full, she ends by speaking to the audience, “Silver Springs is a great old song.” It’s on the record. It’s her middle finger to Lindsey, who I’m confident had it removed from the record, and Mick, who later wouldn’t let her release it. I never saw FM sing this song in concert until this big reintroduction for The Dance in 1997. I saw them live 5Xs. It was nominated for Grammy for best live performance by a group or duo. Should’ve won.. Removed for room on Rumours when it was better than Oh Daddy for certain.
Nice Reaction. This concert was called, The Dance. It was a 1997 televised concert and long awaited reunion for Lindsey to rejoin the band. He and Stevie broke up in 1976 and Lindsey left the band in 1987. After 10.years, this was his first performance with Fleetwood Mac. We watched this concert, live on television, and Silver Spring definitely was the most talked about performance. Some people said Lindsey was sweating with fear... others said he was so over it and told Stevie, "It's been 21 years. Move On"!
So you’re saying that, for example, a guy meets a woman and falls in love, and she breaks his heart. He’s not *also* entitled to express that pain without a retort. Go for cheap insults all you like, my point is that gender has absolutely fuck all to do with it, but you’re so ingrained in your misogynistic viewpoint that you see women as delicate flowers that need to express their emotions where men should bottle theirs up, and not only is that unhealthy, it’s just stupid and negates almost any song that Buckingham wrote for the band. Bit have fun only listening to their catalogue from the female songwriters…
If you watch Christine's face, she finds playing this song, and/or the emotion Stevie has to put out there, distasteful by her facial expression.... Though she does her magic with the concert grand piano though.... I think these songs about the pain caused to loved ones was cathartic or therapeutic for them - at the very least they all managed to channel their angst into some incredible music and fantastic live performances too.
It’s weird, cause they must have needed to do it, to get through their stuff. It’s the whole, having to then perform it with the person you wrote it about that’s crazy 😂
Yes, pissing off a strong willed sorceress like Stevie isn't really all that smart is it? Her lines: "Time cast a spell on you, but you won't forget me" and "I'll follow you down 'till the sound of my voice will haunt you" and "you'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loved you". And makes him sing harmony to these lines on stage with her! Talk about instant Karma! And let's not forget there were 3 lead singers and songwriters here. Christine in fact had as many or more hits than the other two combined, though her style was less "tense". And it's coming up on 1 year since we lost the "songbird" with the angelic voice and who was the queen of hooks. ("hook" = a melody or musical phrase that grabs the listener and resonates their heartstrings) A tribute to Christine as follows: ua-cam.com/video/_QiNTES-814/v-deo.html (Over My Head (2017 Remaster)) ua-cam.com/video/4DBa_SmThDM/v-deo.html (Say You Love Me (2017 Remaster)) ua-cam.com/video/ROGEHq1WZqU/v-deo.html (Fleetwood Mac - As Long As You Follow (Official Music Video)) www.dailymotion.com/video/x81cn6e (Songbird - Fleetwood Mac (live))
I couldn’t wait for him to get to the end of that song 😂
The moment in that which always sticks with me is when she comes back to herself right at the end like oh man.. I went there.
YES
I’ve been watching this video on and off for over twenty years (been a big fan since 1976), and every time I think the same thing in that moment. I’m always impressed that she can recover and sing that final line. And she does have that moment when she realizes how deep she went. 🌈💕✨
When you said "oh that's awkward" after the first verse, I was like "just wait, it gets worse."
Hehehe and it really did! 😂

Everyone at the top of their musical game. Perfect rendition. 👏👏❤️❤️

One of the greatest live performances of all time with the combo of an insanely beautiful song and so much emotion/tension between Lindsey and Stevie.

Nah I feel like they’re still somehow… in it. It absolutely should have been on that album tbh

This is by far my favorite reaction to this song 😂😂
Thanks lol
Well Lindsey gets back with “Go Your Own Way.” Everyone in the band wrote songs about each other and were forced to sing them day in and day out.
Oh I know lol, they were all a hot mess 😂😂
I can’t get enough reactions to this video. Yours is so unsentimental yet still smart, insightful, empathetic, and funny as hell. Well done.

She is telling him what it's all about!
Time & time again in every performance!

I knew that i knew every one of their songs. Then i stumbled upon this one awhile back. Its beautiful.
Lindsey had no clue he was gonna play his own funeral.
Riveting, powerful, haunting, unique and beautiful. Stevie Nicks is one of the best.
The greatest thing to do would have been to love stevie. I can't wait to go see her concert in March.
LB is too much. I adore that guy.
I saw them in 1980 at the Hollywood Bowl, they sang passionately at each other throughout the concert
Very awkward but that tension created some great memory and killer performances. Life doesn’t imitate art it creates it
There is no other band like Fleetwood Mac.
The best part of this is that Stevie has no idea her fans will be dissecting this into oblivion.
Even if you knew nothing about about this band, this song, or it's history, and you just happened across this video, by the end, you would know what was up. your reaction to this is my new favourite hahaha you're right, it's so TENSE but i can't LOOK AWAY
They have a live version of The Chain which is somehow worse hahaha
Best reaction ever! Love it
Thank you haha!
Absolutely!! ❤
LMAO over your reaction. Thank you! 😂

Hahahah thank you!! That means a lot lol
Some songs are too damn good!
Love and hate come from the same emotional birth. There is a fine line between the two but they go hand in hand.
If you add all of the Fleetwood Mac iterations and include the members lost to mental illness, cults etc it is quite a soap opera
Great reaction, pretty much exactly how i felt first seeing it 😂
It’s so awkward, like watching a couple arguing on the bus 😂
I _adore_ your reaction and commentary. Fleetwood Mac recorded their best songs during their most turbulent time. You know the story. Individually they did okay, especially Stevie - but together they were gold.

Imagine how much more they could have done if they weren’t so messed up. 😊
Absolute heart ripper!! ❤
Some people go to therapy, Fleetwood Mac wrote albums instead
Tell myself.. you never loved me... nooo....
7:43 😂😂😂stop bein a prick🤣💀
Fabulous.

You're not the only one who noticed the tension, though in my opinion it didn't peak here but in Say You Will. ^_~
The song was twenty years after they dropped out
That’s a long grudge ☺️
I loved your reaction!!
Why thank you 😌
Lindsey dodged a bullet there
Every one in the band was breaking up during Rumors. They were a hot mess and made great music. No shortage of drama.
#1 this video is over 30 years ago!!! don't you think if they wanted to be together they would be. they moved on years and years ago. Lindsay physically and mentally abused her. Linds is divorced and they're not running to each other, they're acting😮 lol
And #2…? 😂
Mick Fleetwood, drummer, was also Stevie’s Boyfriend. Lots of nose candy
I think it is love....
Lindsey took it like a man.
They all were consummate professionals. Mature adults. No other band could have tolerated all that. They were as a family.
It's anger!
I think this song should have gone on Rumours instead of "Go Your Own Way". Go your own way is a bit more upbeat so I can see the decision that they made to cut this one. Both breakup songs, both great!

Hey man,
You take the time to do a reaction video of a great song.
Take the time to edit out you drinking soda and vaping.
No thank you
Fucxin great mate! Watch winter by tori amos live in somewhere in fukn Europe montreux I’m sure!
Can you do a reaction for Kasey Chambers' cover of Lose Yourself by Eminem? It's amazing!
When you break a woman’s heart as a man you have to let her get that pain out without a retort.
That’s misogynistic nonsense. As if men aren’t entitled to their feelings?
@@markabusireactions I can see you are still a boy.
