The whole X% points value is a great idea, but the problem is if a person runs something soft, or has sisters in there, it changes the dynamic immensely, and a points % system stops working properly IMO.

Great video..... I like that you make the point about trying to make the best of the current points “balance” of the list be staying away from the “That Guy” units and combos. In particular with the FAQ the Sagittarum Guard are rather good and two squads, one on each flank, can be very effective fire support and give counter attacks against deep striking armour or termies. One thought for a future piece perhaps to follow the SoS episode, how would you adjust the points of the Custodians to rebalance them?
Just take fun units. Simple. For rebalancing, oh boy...I'd start by removing adamantium will and the sodality, because here's the thing: FW said they wanted to show that the toads are individual fighters and sodality reflects that nature. Thing is, there's no negative that penalises them for their individuality. Things like charge bonuses, should they not count as a disordered charge if they aren't a true squad and more a conglomeration of individuals? Also, if a Centurion is 50 points base in power armour with a boltgun, should not a custodies with 2+/5++ with a guardian spear realistically be in the 80 point range? I mean, Terminator Armour alone is very pricey, and having all those special rules built in on top of the raw stats, such as higher strength and toughness? Logically, you need ot be looking at 80+ for the most basic of troops, if not more. Presadium shields and the -1 to hit penalty needs to die off, as it means most units only ever hit them on 5's or even 6's in combat, which is ludicrous. An astartes captain hitting a Custodes on a 5+ is a joke, let alone a Praetor with higher weapon skill hitting them on a 4+. The Telemon is another shining example, it's a leviathan with many more rules, upgrades and better wargear, and is less points. Why, add at least 50 points there and make it 0-1. That's SOME of what I'd change.

But like you say Terminators can be their achilles heel and lists can be tailored to cause the Custodes massive problems. I’m actually facing the Custodes at my local club tomorrow night my opponent loves running 3 10 man squads 2 Squads of spears and 1 of Heteron Guard along with 3 Shield Captains it can be horrible to play against.

The whole army has troops that cost less than a marine HQ choice, with stats all equal or better, with all their wargear and rules bonuses. Yeah, they're bad. FW staff won't fix it because they're afraid sales will slump if they do I have heard from inside.
Just make all 30k custodes cheesers players play a 40k match with pure custodes (with a bike limit). That will humble them a bit lol. I'm a 40k player (that likes custodes the best) looking into playing 30k and to be honest it would be pretty nice to feel like my army is a potential power house rather than starting with a handicap. Good or bad, the goldies will always be my fav.

Scibor SF Roman Legionaries are same size, same style and Solerite Power Gauntlet. I honestly think that playtesting is always done by people who run idealistic lists. They run lists based around what would be considered the 'standard' list, aka big emphasis on basic troops, and units that are mediocre but look cool. These balance out fine, but then a normal person picks up the rules and says "why the fuck would I use this? This is shit, this is strong, I will try and max the strong" and you end up with a broken mess.
