I stopped to close my eyes while listening to this and when I open them, I saw a heart shaped leaf had fallen into my water cup! Wish I could attach the picture here. ❤
Dear Mel, I have been listening to your podcast since day one, but this is one of the rare times I was actually able to watch it. I want to Thank You and Dr. Wendy for one of the BEST interviews ever. It was educational, motivating and so wonderfully emotional that the tears are still flowing. My Mom had dementia and passed away almost a year ago. She was 94. And no matter what, the last three words we said before we hung up the phone were “I love you”.
I was in a major accident 12 yrs ago, I started saying I love you to my son, husband and friends all the time now. My 33 yr old son ends every call with I love you!❤
Thank you, Mel, for providing the world with the platform to have the opportunity to learn. After my divorce, it is close to 3 years now. I have developed the interest of learning how the brain functions at my age of 49.
I literally cried the moment Dr Wendy told about her parents..the 'I love you' phrase we tell our parents is not an ordinary expression, it's a powerful and emotional sign of deep love, compassion and gratitude..we won't be here today without them..they may not be forever with us so treasure every moment with them..create sweet lasting memories with them when they're still here...what a podcast..thank you Mel for bringing Dr Wendy to the show..❤
My mom had dementia and told me she loved me every single day we spent together until her last days on earth!I loved her beyond words and told her so!I miss her terribly! 😢
My mother passed away March 1924 she was the queen of the family were all still really struggling. I’m out of state, but my brother and dad visit her every day and it brings them joy just to feel closer to her even though she’s with God and she’s powerful and well and everywhere all at once, but the only thing my mom end up sayinglast few years of her life was I love you and when you told her that she would get emotional in her so I love you. It’s very powerful and I’m so sorry about your mom and I love you and I’m giving you a big hug.
The audio version of this had me in tears. I don’t know how to give it 5 stars on Apple Podcasts. However, it sneaked up on me and there went the waterworks. I’m about to walk my dogs and call my dad.
I have multiple sclerosis affecting my ability to walk, but i did it today, after listening to this podcast. I went and walked with my husband. I will start my daily walking routine, and I hope this flood of chemicals will help me ease my anxiety about my family enduring the war in my dear country lebanon🇱🇧
I have chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia. I work part time and I try to save my energy for everything I have to do so that never goes to exercise. But now I am motivated to walk around the block right now after hearing this podcast. And I plan on trying to do some every day thanks so much!
I’m with you on that (cfs and fibro) and exercising gives me more energy! Not when I only do it for 20 minutes, my body needs longer to feel the real benefits. And diet is definitely important too, no grains, sugars, etc for me anymore. Wish you the best 🙏🏼
@@Namava-o7kme too, but I haven’t yet found the magic number for exercise time or type for my body. I’ll do ok for a small amount of time and then I crash and burn and sometimes for days I can’t even get out of bed 😢
@@nataliemarshall7158 have you changed your diet? That was the first gigantic change for my energy. I started with SCD (specific carbohydrate diet), which helped already a lot. And now I’m on carnivore for almost 6 years, and that’s what helped me most. Exercise wasn’t possible before, I felt too exhausted, struggling to just get through the day. Many with auto immune issues get way better on carnivore, just by getting rid of all the cereals, seed oils, sugars, etc. I don’t need any supplements anymore, I get everything I need out of my food, just meat, poultry, fish, eggs, raw dairy. For many it sounds controversial but it has changed so many lives for the better. You might want to follow Elizabeth Bright, dr Anthony Chaffee, dr Mindy Pelz,…
Dr. Suzuki you are such an inspiration! I took one neuroscience freshman seminar as an undergrad student and, 10 years into my career in another area, after watching this, I find myself wondering if there’s a way to get back into the fascinating field of neuroscience. Thank you for reminding us our brains never stop growing and we never stop learning. And, thank you for sharing the beautiful story about your family saying I love you. Mel, you’re always giving us gifts of these amazing conversations and sharing your love with your listeners. The world would be a lot better place with more people like you two!

Just listed to this podcast while driving home. I’m in tears and quite moved by Dr. S personal experience and beautiful moment with her parents.❤ love this thank you
WOW!! I just love all brain information episodes and being able to visually see the different parts explained takes it to another level of self protection and how important it is to make the best choices possible every day. I’m watching my mother in law of 30 years deteriorate every day from Alzheimer’s and it has me so self aware of just how important this 3lb organ has on our lives. Thank you Mel and Wendy for this crucial important episode you put out there!! I will say I love you both😊
One of the very best podcasts I have ever heard in my life. Her energy was unsurpassed....my takeaway was we aren't stuck....move your body your brain will do the rest. 😊🎉
My Dad had Dementia and when asked by his two sisters who came to visit in his lasts days if he wanted anything he said he wanted 5000 kisses. ❤ He told each one of us that he loved us before he died in 2019 and we treasure how lucky we were to be able to be with him when he died 😢🤍🕊️ Miss him everyday. Thank you for this podcast it has given me hope xxx
When I was in university, we had a few weeks of labs in a human cadaver lab.. We didn't touch anything; just looked at the specimens. It was very moving, to think that someone was so generous as to donate their body so many of us could learn..
My 21 year old son is a shaken baby syndrome survivor. Shaken at 3 months by his father while I was at school for the day. Has global brain damage. Thankfully he can walk and has strong will but lacks communication and gets angry a lot and can be very tough to get him to cooperate. He’s very irritable. I’ve got to get him doing some exercise.
Wow!! I think this is the best episode I have seen/heard from you Mel. Thank you to Dr Suzuki and to you, Mel for bringing this to us all. Love you and all the guests you share with us. Love from Auckland, New Zealand
Mel, thank you so much for what you do!! Dr. Wendy confirmed I'm on the right path. No one has ever told me "I have a beautiful brain" the same way your words on a previous podcast Mel, a new definition of the agape women, changed my life as well. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to have watched this today. Thank y'all!!!!
Mel, I’m learning English as a second language and you can’t imagine how much I thank you for all this interesting episodes, all you share is beyond wonderful! ❤
Omg, I did the same, and my Daddy told me he loves me for the very first time, last month, and I’m almost 40 years old, that was the best day in my life 🥹🩷
Thanks Mel. And let me tell you, that one Ted Talk video by Wendy inspired me to get into an actual workout routine from 2019 and it has helped me survive all odds. Thank you for being the reason to listen and watch her once again.
You are both doing an amazing job, and your contributions to your audience are valuable and lovely. I remember when my Dad had a stroke; he wasn't able to talk, just looking at us, and I couldn't stop my tears. I was holding his hands, and he touched my face, and tears flowed. I said to him, 'I love you, Dad.' After two weeks in the hospital, he passed away, and when I remember those moments, I can't stop my emotions and tears from coming down.
I listened to this on Spotify and then decided to watch because it is so interesting and I wanted to see the brain. 🧠🙂 The way I started with cold showers is by turning it to cold while I massage the conditioner in my hair. Cold water on my head hurts, so I don't stick my head in. The warm water in my hair is a great distraction from the cold. Now that I've been doing it for a while, I tend to keep going colder until I get that rush and I stay at least a minute. I also started Jui-jitsu at the age of 58 and find combined with walking and gardening I get 3 to 4 hours of movement a day which is what my body needs. Thank you, Mel, for the great interviews!
Mel, you have such a great way for helping people to remember things by getting specific. For example, for the cold shower, after you put the conditioner in your hair, turn the hot water to cold. Brilliant! ❤
Thanks Dr. Suzuki. Thanks Mel. I got chills and teary eyes. One of my fave episodes. Thank you Mel. More power to you and happy happy Birthday. Sending you love!

One more awesome conversation with a charismatic and authentic human being!!! Thank you Mel and thank you Dr.Wendy🙏🙏💕💕
The "I love you " story happened to me too and I am so thankful. I didn't know that I would shed a few tears from this podcast.😊

Thanks for this. I am inspired to walk and exercise more. I’ve noticed “ mental pause” since being in my 60’s.
I loved this podcast! I. Have been following you for over a year. This one was HUGE!
I'm a bit mobility challenged some days, if I do too much then I thow myself into a fibro flare for days, sometimes weeks 😢 I do recognize the need for movement though, I dance as much as I can, sometimes just seated 😂 It's a fun exercise that we can all do❤
So important that movement. For us w mobility issues especially.
Wow yes me too 🙏 I have fibromyalgia and is getting worse as I get older. I want to do alot of things, but then I'm down for days 😢😮 I understand 😔🙏🙏🙏
