The USN/USMC had another version called the M39 EMR (Enhanced Marksmans Rifle). It was essentially the same as the US Army Mk14 EBR mod1, with the only differences being the top rail, scope mount, and scope. The top rail had the first couple of picatinny sections milled off so that it could accommodate the Sadlak/SEI scope mount. The reason they went with the Sadlak/SEI over the Sage EBR mount is bc early versions of the Sage mount had issues with retaining zero. The USN/USMC used e Schmidt & Bender PSII scope instead of the Leupold Mk4 that the Army used. Side note: Smith Enterprises issued out their Crazy Horse M14 variant early in the war. They utilized the USGI fiberglass stocks, bedded actions and SEI scope mounts with Leupold Mk4 scopes. They were said to be very accurate rifles.
Having worked on the M14 and M1A platform I had to chuckle when I read the title. It was a less than stellar performer in vietnam both in reliability and firepower. Many folks like to claim that the M14 has served since the 1950s, that is kind of a half truth. They where still issued in the Navy in very limited number. The Marines refused to abandon it on the competition circuit and it performed poorly compared to the M16 and M110. You could argue that the M14 made a come back in the GWOT not because it was such an amazing platform but it was all we had in our reserve stocks. Cool rifle but heavy, mediocre accuracy and breakage prone.
What's the weight of your rifle, recruit? Sir, it weighs 9.7 pounds now. Then weighs 12 pounds after 2 miles. Then it weighs 15 pounds after 3 miles. Then weighs 20 pounds after 5 miles. Then it weighs 40 pounds after 8 miles. Then, after 10 miles, it weighs 60 pounds.
Never heard about the breakage prone part and not sure if that’s true. I do know they had some metallurgy issues when they were first released but that was corrected.
Crazy we had them in Afghanistan and Iraq 2008-2013. Was more than capable and as accurate as we needed it to be. The weight? Lighter than a 249 which I didn’t find heavy either. Guess it all depends on your state in mind 🤷🏻♂️
Thank God this is a smaller channel, becuase I might actually receive a response. I have multiple m14 ebr variants, as well as a litany of obscenely difficult to find service rifles and accessories. Wtf did you find the FDE DCSB?! It's not service clone aesthetic it's just Gucci m14 drip, and I've literally been searching for one, doe 15+ years. Please tell me this is just a cerakoted optic mount, and there not an actual FDE Sage mount! Sadly it's not one of those items that had why value so they're impossible to find, but I've been searching everywhere to have it compliment my tano m14. Please sell it to me. I'll pay you double what it's worth, as well as give you double your subs. I'm close friends with some obscenely popular content creators and I'll make sure they give guy a shout if you sell me this mount! Good video regardless, and I suspect that even without my help this channel will grow.
Spoken like people who never had to carry one. I'll never get the rose tinted glasses associated with the EBR. It aint great, as anyone who was ever issued one will tell you.
I cannot fathom why anyone watching this would give one country fuck as to whether or not your weapons are loaded! That’s on you! But good stuff anyway!

Loved mine. Full length barrel, EBR stock. Issued for my DMR role from 2011-2013.
We did work together.
If I recall mine had a fixed 12x NF scope.
Cool video guys. I believed you the first time you said the guns were safe 😂 no need to pad the runtime with a safety brief lol
perfect video nice job n beautiful guns
Best EBR video on UA-cam for sure!
Thanks BabaYaga!

Got one and love it! Yes it's accurate

You don't know what you're talking about...........
Wasn't the only REAL issue with the M14 in Vietnam was that the stock swelled? Correct me if I'm wrong... but Aluminum doesnt swell...?

"NICE!"😄
The Ebr stock blows in person
Opinions vary.
@@D4Guns I never met anyone who isn't a collector enjoy it
If were talking about the M14 platform, Id rather have the Socom16 variant. LOVE the M14 !!!
An EOTech with a bipod makes no sense
I dig it!
Empty chamber, empty mag. ✔️
That's all you need to do fellas.

I’m sorry this thing was such a piece of shit. I’m sure the issues have been fixed now but these things had huge problems when they were fielded.
Can you give to this gun M14 ebr I love him this gun
youtube is a punk always making people dig to find good videos about big sticks.

Not to worry! They did not issue them in FDE. This one was cerakoted.
The sad play acting about unloaded rifles
Hope you have a good day.
He kinda has a point though. Fuck the 'safety sallies'. If you know your safety rules and are responsible, no need to appease all the FUDs. @@D4Guns

They carried two, as you can see.
Winchester (pre-64’s) M70’s is a far superior sniper rifle platform to any MK-14.
The EBR isn’t a sniper rifle. It’s more and DMR rifle. So why compare it to a M24?

Where the hell is an in-stock EBR chassis? I know they're quite hard to find but can't be impossible
Gunbroker they are expensive tho.
You can get one at US Tactical. But you will be on a waiting list for a bit
@@Andrew-ei1du I check there occasionally & they've yet to come in stock
