Russia's Quietest "Sniper"? The VSS Vintorez

Поділитися
Вставка

  • The VSS "Vintorez" is such an odd rifle that was in many ways massively ahead of it's time. The 9x39 is closest to the 8.6 blackout in terms of bullet weight (though it still lighter than those loadings typically). In today's video we take one of the few examples in the United States and go over this very fascinating design.

Differences are unobvious but actually big
    Different silencer construction
Maybe different metal for some parts
Different munition (original uses special sniper SP5 and armor-piercing SP6 subsonic 9x39)
of course different scope (original was PSO-1-1)
Its an old model so there is wooden stock but nowadays of course its replaced by plastic stock to lessen the weight
But as they say it is the most accurate as you can get outside russian special forces
    And its looks cool AF

    • @tieroneoperator635
      @tieroneoperator635 5 місяців тому

Different firing mechanism but for everything else it's pretty much the same as AS VAL. And in terms of practical use they're being used in nearly the same way. So you'll see a lot of pics of VSS with 30rd mag from 2022 and some 1-4 or 1-6 optics not to mention that Lazarev Tactical already done a video as well as Veresk. Both in russian and for russians so you might need a translator for it since I can't make subs on YT for some kind of reason (still don't know tbh).
And there's also some vids about 9A-91 and it's pros and cons comparing to AS/VSS. Once again separated with language barrier, so you can watch but you can't tou-- ...understand.

That's a good point though. You chamber the round when you load the gun before putting it in the holster, so there is no way he couldn't have known. Unless he just stores his handgun chamber loaded 24/7 or something, which is stupid.

I would not carry a chambered gun in a holster or on a sling, if it's chambered I'm active ready holding it with both hands pointing slightly down, or aiming at something or someone. Different doctrine, I almost never use the safety, it's either not chambered or chambered but safety off except AK where unchambered safety on.

This weapon was issued in very limited numbers to basically Russia's version of the FBI (an internal security ministry). It's so modular because it's designed to be broken down and easily fit into a briefcase. The agent will then smuggle it into his sniping spot of choice, where he'll engage at 400 meters or fewer. So though technically an SMG, in practice it's essentially a noiseless, fireless, concealable urban sniper rifle.

PUBG showed me the thrill and power of the VSS. Garand Thumb showed me the friends the VSS makes along the way.

I used to terrorize players. They would run from cover to cover not knowing where I was. This was from way out. Like double holdover. So fun.

This video was awesome, from Brandon and Donut to the skipping rounds out of the ballistics gel and hitting the target.... I really like episodes like this where all the good gunners get together and play around, very funny and very entertaining. 😁👍
