- Make SOLID LOTION BARS! Non-Greasy Recipe! ONLY 3 Ingredients!!! Learn how to make a lotion bar; it’s a solid moisturizer that softens skin without leaving it greasy or oily.
RECIPE: 3 ounces butter (your choice), 3 ounces beeswax, & 3 ounces liquid oil (your choice). Put your heat setting on low & add these ingredients into a heat-safe container. Slowly melt them together. I used shea & cocoa butter + 3 different types of oil for the 3 ounces, but one oil is fine! Like sweet almond or coconut. I added the vitamin E after I took the mix off of the heat (I wasn’t sure if it'd mess with the Vitamin E), however, this is not necessary & the vitamin E will be completely fine if you heat it with the other ingredients! Once everything is almost melted, remove it from heat & cool mix. To speed up cooling, pour mix back & fourth. Mix should be cooled to about 145 degrees to add fragrance oil (3 milliliters fragrance oil). Grab a soap mold & fill each cavity. Allow the bars to harden completely. I left them on the table overnight, but you can put them in the fridge, freezer, etc. As they cool & harden the bars contract & get a bit smaller. To use the lotion bar, rub it on your skin where ever you want extra moisturization & then rub it in! NOTE: This is a very small batch (I didn't want to make a lot because I'd never made it before). To make more just double or triple the recipe.
PACKAGING: Shrink wrap the lotion bars on low heat.

😘
Hi Dora, I have been watching you for awhile, today I decided to follow your tips, I got .5 oz deodorant sticks , I did 2 oz of cocoa butter, 2 oz of bees wax, 2 oz of oils, I used Arnica Oil, Hemp Seed Oil and Vit E ....... I suffer in pain everyday , this filled 10 sticks and half a jar of 125 mils canning jar. Ty for the guidance , I did try it before it set (from the jar) and it helped my lower back pain.
Beautiful
Looks great !
Thanks!
I love it! 💕
Thanks girl, I appreciate your support. You've been awesome!
I make a similar recipe and just a heads up, they will melt during shipping if it’s super hot. One I shipped to AZ completely liquified.
Another tip- add a little arrowroot powder to make less greasy. You can add oatmeal powder too 💜💜💜
That's a great idea! Great tip, thanks so much!
How much arrowroot would you add?
@@bethjustice6363 maybe like a tsp. Doesn’t need too much
Can you add cornstarch instead?
@@carolarias6277 no.

These bars look lovely. What makes these bars not greasy?
Thanks for sharing this recipe! I made mine just a touch differently (no Vit. E oil and added a tsp of corstarch), but you made this so easy to do. I love your videos.
Perfect!
Thank you for sharing this. If I may ask, what’s the purpose of the cornstarch, please? Does it help keep it solid when it’s hot?
@@Ssssssmmmmmmmmm No, it is for absorbing moist ( greasiness).
@@jasminaj... Thank you for your response
Hola! Soy nueva en tu canal. Me gusta! Saludos desde Chihuahua,Mexico
¡Saludos a Chihuahua, México! ¡Qué feliz de tenerte! ¡Bienvenido a mi canal! ¡De Luisiana!
I’m new to this. Why do you wait for it to cool some before adding fragrance. Thanks.
Yaay, I need to start using lotion again so I really need to make some of these, Thank you, Dora.
My pleasure Pam! Like the new song? lol
@@CreativeBathLab Not really I loved the old song best that was your signature song for me.
@@pamcolechadwell1302 lol really? Well that makes me feel better😊
@@CreativeBathLab I loved the music, The new one just repeats the same over and over.
Oh good! Last time u said you liked the old song better. But yeah, I downloaded some GREAT music these past few weeks- hopefully I’ll never have to use the same one!
I just made these and I used peony infused olive oil. They are just a bit greasy, but my family has pretty dry skin, so no big deal. They smell amazing. I have to find all natural scents because I can't tolerate most fragrances or chemicals. I recently began making soaps and wanted to make a peony scented soap but didn't think the smell would survive saponification. This lotion bar is awesome. Thank You!!
Olive oil is more greasy of a carrier oil than some others. If you make them again try another oil like safflower oil or jojoba oil and it shouldn’t be as greasy feeling on the skin
Me encantan sus recetas muchas gracias por enseñarnos
Eres muy bienvenida, es un placer !!
For the 3 oz of liquid oil and I use a combination of Sweet Almond oil and Coconut oil plus the Vitamin E? Wanting to make these for family as gifts when I visit for Thanksgiving. Thank you
Hi Dora, love your channel and the colours you used for your creations are AMAZING!! 💕💕 A quick question, is it possible to use colours to do lotion bars? If yes, will it be mica powders or liquid colouring? Thank you! 💕💕 🇬🇧
Thanks so much. Yes you can! I know for sure liquid colors work & I'm assuming micas are fine too!
I wish I lived next to you to learn all this. Just start my soap BUSSINESS.
Superb ,liked it 👍
☺️
Noooo I love this song is energetic
😊
Hi Dora amazing video
Wat did U mix in the jar once the butters were melted n taken down from heat
Before cooling n adding fragrances
Vitamin E
Hello, did you use any beeswax or there is a specific type for the solid bar?
You use 3 oz each with Shea butter and cocoa butter
Looks great. When I restock all of my ingredients, I will try this but 3 ingredients? I counted 6...huh?
You can call that (3) ingredients but it’s really (6) if someone goes and buys what they need to buy to make these. You use (3) categories of ingredients… there’s a difference.
Thanks Leigh! I appreciate the differentiation.
Thanx for your video. And where do will get the ingredients.
Check description, at the bottom!
Dziękuję za super przepis ale mam pytanie ile wit E trzeba dodać
Pozdrawiam i dziękuję
3 uncje. Poprawiłem przepis w twoim języku i jutro zrobię inne. Nie zdawałem sobie sprawy, że ktoś z Polski ogląda moje filmy. Jutro przetłumaczę jeszcze 30 z nich!
Hello, is there anything I can add or substitute to make it a smoother glide when applying and not feel so dry and rough?
just increase your oil or decrease your wax. Different recipes use 5 parts butter, 3 parts oil and 2 parts wax... they glide better, but are greasier.
Can I use soy wax?
Hi do you have tutorial for spf80 lotion
Tnx😊😍
Not yet!
Any ideas on what to store these in if giving as a gift?
I just shrank wrapped mine!
I wrap mine in unbleached coffee filters and place in a metal tin with lid!
3oz butter 3oz bees wax 3oz liquid oil melt 144 f 3drops oil
Is the fragrance oil the same as an essential oil or where do you buy it please?
No its different, ua-cam.com/video/GbDjA_-nqiM/v-deo.html
So these measurements make 4....and can we use any butters or butter combo
Yes & yes!
The part quick shout out to yasmine torres& razjaz88..
What is that?
Is that a vitamin e?
No boo, they requested the tutorial. If you’d like to request something, go to the community tab & comment on that convo
Can I use this same ingredient to make lip balm?
Sure
What do you put them in when your done ? I want to give my friends one but I’m not sure now to package them ?? Can you help 😊
shrink-wrap!
You can put them in a small round tin container lined with a cut to fit coffee filter. That’s what I do
The song is much better now. :)
If you wanted to add other ingredients like petals or powders, how much would you put in?
I know 😊. Thanks again to Karen! lol. Sweetie I honestly don’t know! But to start, just put a pinch, mix, then add more if you feel the need!
@@CreativeBathLab thanks! I appreciate it! I looked at another video and they said put in a teaspoon. That you could put in colloidal oats or arrow root powder to cut grease or just petals but let it partially solidify so they don’t float.
@@ShikaApathetic sounds good to me! I’ll have to remember this! Thanks!
Hi! I tried making this and placed it in a tin once dried..but a few days later..I opened it and the lotion bar was "gritty" and not smooth even the ones that were not used. Is this mold or what is it? It just feels bumpy?
usually its due to the beeswax not properly melted, try re-melt it back
Could soy wax replace bees wax in this recipe?
You could try it, but I tried emulsifying wax instead of beeswax & it came out very different!
How much fragrance oil added to this batch
3 ml
Thank you so much for this recipe! Is there a vegan alternative to beeswax?
Not that I’m aware of
@@CreativeBathLab thank you for your response.
yes, there are. you can use Candelilla wax, Carnauba wax, bayberry wax.. there are many.
@@samanthanoonan4999 thank you!
Hey super przepis 1 OZ to ile ml lub gram😊😊
Pozdrawiam 🙂
1 uncja = 28 gramów
Can titanium dioxide be added to make more white?
I don’t see why not!
Okay got it
U put vit E oil later
Wats d reason
Sorry about that. (I explain this in the description). But, I wasn't sure if heating the Vitamin E would diminish it - but it doesn't! You can heat it all you want!
How would you ship this to someone
I shrink-wrapped mine. then just ship in a box (shrink wrapped). My bar came out VERY sturdy. As I stated, my AC broke & it got over 85 deg & the bars didn’t budge!
Do you use any preservatives?
no
How do you package the lotion bars for sell and continuous use? It doesn't seem beneficial to just have it out in the open
I simply shrink-wrapped mine!
What scents do you use
I always use a vanilla scent for anything like this!
@@CreativeBathLab do you have any that you recommend? I have a hard time finding one that I don’t have to use a ton of just to get the smell
I shop at a few different websites for fragrances. Right now, my favorites are www.theflamingcandle.com, www.naturesgardencandles.com, & www.rusticescentuals.com
My favorite vanillas are vanilla lace (or vanilla lace & pearls), Vanilla musk, Warm vanilla sugar! Really, you cant go wrong with those!
It looks like Cheese, a little bit?! 😜 👍 👍
Lol yep, you’re right!
When it comes to buying.. that's (6) ingredients.
That was 6 ingredients
😘
You can make it with only 3 ingredients... possibilities are endless. Get creative!!
Without an emulsifier, I'm pretty sure this is a body butter bar, not a lotion bar.
What's the difference? I'm honestly asking because I'm new at this
How is this non greasy, it’s literally every greasy ingredient there is
IDK. I just remember using it & thinking "wow, this isn't greasy at all!" I remember stuff like that bc I hate to feel greasy.
I don't know where you learned to count, but there are 7 ingrediants in your recipe.
The song is horrible.
Sorry. Would you rather hard core rap or heavy metal?
