Jimmy, I had a wheel like that, I think you made a mistake by missing an important bit on that wheel! These type of wheels actually should have a button on the back or front of the wheel where you could change the mode from "keyboard" input type control to "wheel" input type control which would have allowed you to use it as a normal wheel with normal rotation, and pedals with normal input, etc. I suggest you doing another one video with these type of wheels, but with the normal mode! :D
P.S. Did you install any drivers? That might have also caused an issue why the wheel and pedal inputs were not registered normally by the game.
P.P.S. For anyone wondering, these type of wheels are still terrible, but you can use them for shitty racing experience if you are on a pocket money size budget :D Nowadays I have G920 - a million times better experience!
Ye some of my mods said the same thing. I'll try it later and see how much of an idiot I was haha.
Figures, I had a wheel for N64 and that was at least analogue so couldn't believe this wasn't.
Good onya Jimmer for having a go though
@@DaydreamNative blast from the past, Wow! That triggered nostalgia
What scares me even more is that some people know of this mode button. What are you doing with wheels like these! ;)
How quick can the T racer lap the Nurburgring??!!!!😂
sub 10 min challenge
I simultaneously want and don't want this. It would be hilarious but may also give Jimmer PTSD. Decisions...
Sounds like a challenge to me... £17 have been spent, must make most of it, right? haha
Depends... how long is your next vacation? You might have to head back to work before the lap finishes.
Kerry Blanchard quarantine might be over by the time he finishes the lap
Few technical words about this "wheel"
It comes from Poland XD
Company name is spelled tracer, not T racer ;_;
In Poland the asking price is 25-30 pounds, so you got it quite cheap. This company is known for making cheap "gaming" stuff and no one knows how this company still exists. The game that you got is sold for 1-2 pounds in newspaper stands. It would go really well with that wheel
LFS is still a great sim
prawda
My tracer keyboard alao have a more than 10 years have wholes maked by makita amd still working i use it with xbox 😂😂
Przecież licencja do LFS kosztuje ponad 100zł i jest na poziomie Assetto Corsa pod względem fizyki. Do kierownicy dołączana jest tylko wersja demo dzbanie.
I nie wiem skąd to ci się wzięło "The game that you got is sold for 1-2 pounds in newspaper stands"
9:52 "It is terrible. It's one of the worst wheel's I've ever used in my life"
*Wait... so he's used worse?*
He probably used a wheel that doesn't even turn on .
I enjoy the birds in the background lol
And the water
It feels... Calm
And the water! Need that ambience playing in the background when feeling the urge for a punterino.
Red breasted robins. Lovem. They're not as human shy as pigeons so you can take photos of them really close.

I feel bad for the kids, parents who don't have alot of money (fair enough) and don't have any knowledge about racing wheels (also fair ) but they want to get their child a wheel they've been wanting like what they see on UA-cam, but they expensive so the parents have to go for the cheapest wheel and a kid gets that for their Birthday, loves the idea of racing and goes to 'set up' the wheel, heart pumping only to find out it's that hunk of junk that doesn't even turn properly, Fuck the companies who make that shite because honestly, do You want to be the person who built that just so You can extort money of poor people who go for the cheapest option only to find out it's TERRIBLE!
I feel so so bad for the people who must have brought that expecting fun only to get that "Glorified D-pad". Enough said.
It’s so sad man. It reminds me of the Boot Theory from Terry Pratchett in Men at Arms. It’s expensive being poor because you have to replace cheaper things more often and they have less use as they’re lower quality. Whereas rich people can afford the higher entry price for quality and can buy the item once and happily keep the item for years. So by the time you measured up in a couple of years, the poor people would’ve spent more money than the rich.
John Martin Cantorne Glad to hear it.
You just narrated my story
I completely agree. Its a waste of money, its a waste of time and its a waste of resources to make this plastic crap that basically belongs in the garbage. We as a planet need to stop making shit products that are just tossed into landfills
My friend bought this wheel like 10 years ago. We tested this just for fun after 10 years, and it works like a wheel should work. We tried Pc2 and f1 2020.
Apparently there is an analog mode that he forgot to turn on.
I've checked this out on their site, and it seems the wheel has analog steering, but you have to press the "mode" button on the wheel to activate it.
Mighty_Crusier i wish he tried it again but with analog on
did seem broken
There should be a button called MODE that should allow for “analog” for steering gas/brake if you don’t press it it will be “d-pad” style
Doesn't matter. The point was not to give the wheel a fair shake, but to shame it. On youtube anything that costs less than a few thousand is dismissed as utter shit.
@@tjfritts9013 ?
@@tjfritts9013 I used a bit wheels from E5, Tracer etc. as I'm Pole and I have to say - they're rubbish. IMO still the best way to enter into simracing is to buy used DFGT or new T150 and don't give a fuck about each other wheels.
@@ricer34567 Basically. A few years ago I bought for 75 euros a G25. It would've cost more had the shifter worked properly. Just when I arrived at home, I removed the leather cover (and I think it's actual leather) and I only had to lift the broken fastener that holds the upper part of the leather cover. Easily one of the best bang for the buck I've ever experienced.
Guys, don't buy that much new staff. You can find amazing things saving money, and likely older steering wheels will be easier to repair than the new designs.
@@tjfritts9013 It's not about money, this is just BAD no matter how cheap it is. Might as well just save up a bit more for a used DFGT, that was my first wheel.

Missed opportunity for "I went onto the internet and I found this:" quote.
As a father, I just feel sorry for the children who want a steering wheel and get something like that from their parents.
As a father, you should teach your kid to respect anything they get and make them understand your financial situation.
@@savakujundzic As a parent, you should be an example and not roll over to bullshit like this. There is a big difference between being ungrateful for a gift, and feeling cheated or disappointed. If this is what you get your child, when they ask for steering wheel, and then be mad at them for not using it, then that is your fault for not accepting that the product is not as advertised.
This has nothing to do with financial situation. Wasting 17 buck on garbage should enrage you more than your kid, if money is that tight.
@@qtluna7917 you gonna be a trash parent lol
@@obeseperson oh I agree, that's why I'm not going to be a parent ;)
Bro 17$? I’d drop him off at a daycare forever if I’m that tight
This was like the wheel I started on. It had no force feedback and only 90 degrees of rotation. I remember trying to play project cars and just failing miserably because the throttle and brake had no feel. You can kind of guess how much of a change it was when I got my thrustmaster tmx
Now go from a tmx to a Fanatec clubsport like I did. So crazy no regrets
I had one and I was so sad because AC only allows analog pedals, my pedals were literally buttons
Janko Shmidt I’ll have to save up for a while first
I've played project cars with the keyboard for almost 350 hours before being able to put my hands on any sort of cheap wheel ahahah
@@ChrisBrown-ij4hv I recommend getting the Clubsport pedals first if you have to stagger your purchases. The pedals are less expensive than the wheel base and they'll provide a greater benefit. I raced a Thrustmaster wheel/Clubsport v3 pedals setup for a while with no issues.

User error.

there was actually, he just didn't know
This takes me back a bit. I started out a couple years ago on a logitech wheel from I think 2004 (ish) that I found at a thrift store for about $5. It had no force feedback, and 90 degrees of rotation in either direction really light feeling pedals. It was pretty much identical to that thing except it at least had analog rotation and pedal inputs out the box. I remember trying to play Assetto Corsa and RBR on it and eventually even setting ok (ish) lap times on it. Just a few months ago I upgraded to a g920 and dear lord it has been a night and day difference.
I have been waiting for this video ever since you mentioned it👌
Looking forward to the analogue follow up, thanks for taking one for the team and the laughs anyway. I like the garden, I moved to Australia from the UK 15 years ago and we don’t really do that level of lush around here. I worked close to Brands Hatch too, could hear the cars in the distance.
In a time where I'm constantly wanting to upgrade my gear, this is a good video to be thankful for what I do have.
I went on the internet this week and I found this, Jimbo Edition ;P
Glad to see you back jimmy

i love that garden. so peaceful
This wheel is sad I feel so bad for any kids who’s parents took one look at the price and said here I got you that wheel you always wanted.
Kid: But but..... this wheel doesn’t work.
Mum and Dad: Be grateful you got any wheel. Back in my day we didn’t have wheels... games for that matter to. 😳🤣
I believe Jimmer didn't set it up correctly. I used to have a wheel quality-like when I was a kid and it did work
Except..they did. 70s, 80s, 90s, all had games and great consoles to boot. Adults just tell you that bullshit to make you admire them.
silent moment for all sad kids
i was that kid.
It’s really not that bad he just had it in the wrong mode I’ve seen another review on this wheel and he did the same thing he found out later there was a button he has to push to make the steering work correct if your not interested in spending $700-1800 for a wheel and not interested in FF and just a casual gamer this would be the wheel for you it actually works quite well you should watch his second video on it for 17 pounds it’s good shit hell of a lot better than a game pad the only thing I see a problem is the peddle travel would really take some getting used to it takes about 30Lb’s of force to use my break pedal
You could do a Top Gear style Ranking, so you set a lap time with a wheel on the same track and same car and compare it to the other wheels
“High end gear ONLY on this channel.” Second line of description. Love it Jimmy! 😂
Amazing content Jimmy! KEEP IT UP!

Bro his backyard is so peaceful
Jimmy, i believe that a lot of your grandfather is in you, he still lives on you! You're an amazing person, so i assume he was too! Now i have some ideais for you, i would like to see some honest steering wheel reviews and also some racing games reviews, like Assetto Corsa, comments about Gran Turismo Sport (70% sim maybe). In the case of the games would be nice for you to put some "stamps" on the games that trully are simulators (Assetto Corsa) and the ones that are not (Forza 7). And finally some track guides would be ULTRA NICE. I like this chanel very MUCH!
I love the background noise in your backyard.
Love the outdoor video! Don't worry about the difference in quality between the rig. It's actually refreshing after being stuck inside for numerous millennia.
Please re-do this with a vaguely functional wheel. I love the idea of comparing super low end crap to reasonable gear!
Well on the right side on the controls panel you have a preset activated called Digital Gamepad. Maybe that was the mistake. There seems to be more options via the left and right arrows. Maybe you give it a try and tell us if it helped
Great review!
I used to have a similar wheel. It was called Logic3, it didn't have ffb or even vibration, just spring centering. The steering reached the maximum at about 45° (you could turn the wheel about 100°, but past 45 it wouldn't have any extra effect), and the steering was "notchy", from 0 to 45° you would get 4 or 5 places where the wheels would "click in", like it would jump from ) to 20% steering, to 40%, etc.
"I went to amazon"
Quarantine madness is kicking in
The wheel makes it look as though he’s driving with a keyboard
same with controllers
Watching this video brought me back to the Playstation 2 era playing the F1 2005 and Gran Turismo 4 on the Fanatec Speedster 3 holding it with my knees. It had a tiny display on the wheel base to change deadzone, sensitivity and also had a digital/analog mode selector. It brings a tear to my eye to remember those early teenager days already becoming a lazy ass spending most of my time playing sports and videogames.
Jimmy got a paradise garden, the background noise is so soothing lol
there is a hen behind you at the end, carefull when taking their eggs, they can be aggressive...

I had the exact same shit around 10 years ago. This set also has a handbreak and sequential shifter add on. For a 10 year old boy. This was amazing. PS. This steering wheel has a button to enable turning degrees. If turned off it turns full lock. There is a button to enable degree controls for turning and pedals.
1:38 Okay, that was extremely cool.

I started "simracing" on that wheel... now I have flashbacks from 2015-2016, when I was racing in F1 Challenge 99-02 on that particular wheel ❤
Great video jimmy! One thing I will say about the 17 pound wheel is at least it works! I bought a TM leather edition wheel for just under 400 quid a month ago and it was dead on arrival 😭.
