Strapping a GoPro to An ANGRY TURTLE!

- A walk along the river in my waders turned into a discovery of two huge snapping turtles buried down in the riverbank mud! I dislodged the turtles from their lairs and then strapped a GoPro to one to see what kind of underwater scenes I could get.
Keep trying new things and leveling up in real life!

What's the attraction of killing and eating them? It just seems different to me than eating regular farm animals, and I think it should probably not be done. These things seem to have a harder time multiplying.

I'm a little old lady (110 lbs, over 60 y/o,) and snapping turtles have been a lifelong fascination. Been catching and/or poking at them since childhood. Caught/killed/cooked one once, in my teens, but prefer to let them do their thing. Early last summer, a female laid eggs in our freshly delivered pile of loam, and we brought the eggs in and incubated them until hatching, and returned the babies to the river by my house.
Love seeing their view of their environment, and got a chuckle out of your reactions to the lunges for freedom!

Awesome video but please be safe with their tails. Also I saw your comment about the catching and cooking one. Please have mercy on them. There population’s have been in drastic decline for decades and I’d like my grandchildren to have a opportunity to strap a go GoPro on one 50 years from now.

Do not pick the turtle up by the tail, as you can injure the bones of the tail and back. Also, The alligator snapping turtle is protected as a State Species of Special Concern by Florida's Endangered and Threatened Species Rule.

From what I have seen besides the tail, there wasn't really anything bad here. The camera doesn't hurt the turtle and it seemed to be let go at the end.

I remember finding a snapper in Texas a few years ago. He was pretty young. I curled my toes up in my boot and touched his mouth.... The speed and power of that bite was insane! I was so lucky I was smart enough to get my toes back as far as I could 😂😂😂😂 I wouldn't have tried that if it was an adult like these guys are

Snapping turtles are very good at it. They have been known to climb fencing around ponds.
