Don’t take farm raised foreign fish and throw it in the water where it doesn’t belong. Love your curiosity but be respectful of the beautiful places you enjoy so they can stay nice for future generations!
Where is the filming location out of curiosity? The trumpet fish is just hanging around in hopes of a smaller fish smelling the food That's just the right size to fit in his mouth and that'll be his meal.
Hey Ace, this could actually have to do with how salmon contain a different amount of omega 6 fatty acids (greater) than omega-3 we normally hear all about omega-3's for health, but omega-6 is just as important for our health. Always consuming fats with moderation though!
It seems the normal fish dont like the salmon meat much though its still fish bites so they eat it. Then you see the eel come in and devour the rest which their diet consists of multiple species, thus explains them no being picky.
Dude is on Hawaii and buys imported salmon and feeds it to local fish
Lol
@@aceunderwater boo
@@aceunderwater Thanks for introducing non-native parasites to Hawaiian waters for a dumb video that could have used any fish meat at all. All commercial salmon, wild or farmed, have parasites.
Good to know. I was liking these videos. Booooo
@@DukeTrout who asked
So many comments about messing the ecosystem up. Like ONE experiment isn’t gonna matter. I was born and raised on Oahu and what’s worse than this experiment is all of the tourist that come and don’t wear reef safe sunscreen messing with the coral reefs. You guys are babies
one eventually turns into many...esp if he is promoting this dumb shit online to all the sheeple
@@uziaoki3532Hogwash.
All these people are angry about the environment being ruined from one slice of salmon. I hope they don’t find out about landfills!
"Trumpet fish being a jerk there, not sure that was about" 😂
imagine just going about your day, then a cleanly sliced foreigner appears on your way to work, and there's no blood splattered around.
Moray eels are nocturnal, they don’t have the best eyesight during the day
Same here to ok
Exactly
Yoooooo
@@mattburke9554 hello Matt :)
@@sanamylove325 u watch ace to?
I used to be big into aquariums. Like big.
I noticed this phenomena in salt water aquariums as well. Not with salmon as food but with food being on the substrate. I was always told that many species of fish (like tangs, some damselfish, some angelfish, etc) are hesitant to eat food off of the bottom because of the parasites that come along with constantly eating food off of the ocean floor. Certain species don’t care as much or are more resilient or whatever which is why you’ll see bottom feeders not care at all.
Anyway, might be way off but interesting to note if true.
Man look at how clear that water is… how cool it must be to swim with the fishies like that. Cool vid, bro and I hope you had fun shooting it 👌🏾
Its because Apex predator loins like Salmon dont exactly fall off their sides randomly. Its only through human intervention that Salmon can even be tasted by little reef fishes.
They are accustomed to tiny morsels left behind by sharks hunting medium sized fish. They probably dont even have color receptors in their brains for “pink” because they dont normally eat salmon lol
Hey Ace, very happy to see another new video!
Body: You need more sleep
UA-cam: wanna find out what happens to food under the sea
Me: well2 lets find out
I'm obsessed with your commentary... 2:48 had me laughing too hard. This is my new favorite pass time after smoking, thank you!
Why are there so many negative comments in here holy shit. I thought it was interesting.
Because we care about fish and wildlife and this guy is bringing imported salmon to Hawaii and feeding it to local fish which causes a lot of problems.
@@LordFarquad2Wildlife has adapted over how many millions of years and you so-called environmental stewards are somehow the ultimate arbiters of environmental justice? Laughable
@@DarthMackzodroginstomp if you only knew how humans have impacted delicate ecosystems over the years by doing stupid shit like this, then you would have a different perspective...everything was already naturally in order before humans started messing around like this. Get educated, the world is not as invincible as you think right now.
@@zer0edin125 you've made it clear that you are one...
@@LordFarquad2 exactly. spread of foreign parasites that may be invasive and wipe out life in that entire area. Reefs are so sensitive, corals die from the slightest change in pH. Let's not even mention the possible effects it could have on the local people who eat the fish.
“Trumpet fish being a jerk there.” 😂LOL!
5:19 epic burp 🤣🤣🤣
Haha, who wouldve thought theyd be so un-ravenous...and that moray eel, had no idea where it was!
What a counter-intuitive spectacle.
Authentic nature.
"Trumpet fish being jerek there" lol
They are so beautiful.............
Look out they CANNIBALS 😂😂
Nice! Never seen a trumpet fish before, what a bizzare looking fish
oh to be a lil fishy having a salmon feast with my fishy buddies 🥺
love these videos man. simple yet cant stop watching. please never stop this channel lol
Thanks!
*tosses fillet in the ocean* "wait this is kind of too late for catch and release don't ya think"
That trumpet fish at the beginning tho
Beautiful creatures!!
Imagine being a wild salmon in Alaska, caught in a net, processed through a plant, cut into a filet, shipped to a tropical island halfway across the same ocean, only to be put back into the ocean for some dude to film other fish eating you. Quite the life...
Well, the salmon is killed within minutes of being caught so that is not its “life”. Stop it.
@@aceunderwater i bonk salmon all the time. just stating the irony. interesting video.
Aloha Ace 🤙🏽
No one wants to be “that guy” who gets up and eats first
My theory is the fish with the bigger mouths come over and rip the meat apart and the ones with smaller mouths eat the little particles it releases so essentially those fish that were first hovering relied on the bigger more violent fish to tear up little pieces. Once it was sufficiently torn up and there was a good line of violent fish the small mouth fish could just continually eat.
So many beautiful fishes ❤❤❤❤
2:58 were those whale calls?! Awesome.
Chilling
weirdfish there
I heard that around 1:59 too
I love seeing how the animals react it’s awesome! Keep it up!
If trumpet fish are legal to keep that would be an interesting catch and cook
One bite, everybody knows the rules.
I love watching these videos when you put bait down to the bottom of withered saltwater or freshwater or in the river it's so cool and amazing to see how they react to it all
The reason the Fish didn’t at first is because these Fish have no teeth 😂 they cant bite peaces off it 0:59
Now that you've said it, it makes total sense. 😄
All those fish are beautiful
Now you make those fish addicted to the free salmon and the show up everyday in hope to get more yummy free food. 😂
The fish are so pretty.
Another great video as always! Keep it up Mr. Ace.
No, most species of moray eels are not blind. They actually have very good vision and are able to detect movement and patterns, which helps them to hunt for prey and navigate through their environment.
Moray eels have large eyes that are well adapted to low light conditions, which is helpful since they often inhabit crevices and caves where there is little light. Some species of moray eels, such as the fimbriated moray eel, even have a special adaptation called a "pharyngeal jaw" that allows them to capture and swallow prey with greater precision.
While they may not be blind, moray eels do rely heavily on their sense of smell to locate food and communicate with other eels. They have a highly developed sense of smell that is enhanced by their long, slender bodies, which have a large surface area for detecting scent molecules in the water.
People are so hateful in this comment section. Dude just videos sea creatures eating stuff that’s not harmful for them.
Saltwater salmon filet gets put in saltwater and people are offended. It shows how eager so many people are to virtue-signal about how much they “care”. Which usually means they are the least caring people you would ever meet.
People that anthropomorphize animals and claim they see human emotions, human thinking and human reactions in animals are just usually mentally ill and detached from reality. Those are the people that often say stupid sh*t like: "I WOULD SAVE THAT PIG FROM CROCODILE"(even though Crocs don't have grocery stores) but in the other comment sections they say: " f*ck the humans". I wouldn't trust those people with my kid. Internet access has really done a number of human brains. Anyway, cool video. Don't care about whiney twitterinas.
@@aceunderwaterseriously ignore the half of the people in the comment section who don’t appreciate the video, its not for them. The video is for people who can actually appreciate it and understand its value, and not try to come up with any reason to hate a creator.
the burp got me :D
That was an intelligent piece of information, being a fisherman, ( angler ) i have just learned a hell of a lot.
Nice to see the humuhumunukunukuapua'a in there.
Yeah what he said...
You could of just said picasso trigger
@@swifty2844 well, it's the state fish of Hawaii. It should be pronounced in their language.
I’ll blow you’re mind about the Humuhumunukunukuapua’a fish, it roughly translates to long snouted fish that snorts like a pig… seriously though, true. As a local born and raised in Hawaii, I have found that the Hawaiian language is quite descriptive in nature.
@@ihisatake Wow! What a trip. So it actually makes a snorting sound? That's bizarre...
0:32 What the hell is that elongated fish even supposed to be? Bro looks like he was stretched out in every direction 💀
Trumpetfish hahahahhah fuckers are weird 🤣
epic footage!!
Yo this is awesome i duno why but this is what i needed to watch on my lunch break. Thanks ace
They probably want it broken up so they can more easily grab it and go because aren’t they prey fish? They probably assume something bigger will be coming for a bite soon and they don’t want to be what gets eaten.
The way that American eel curled up and then sprung out Is similar to finicky trout
Ace, you show such good footage that most people don’t get to see when they are out on the water. Thank you for sharing. I’m so eager to see the next fishing video. God bless.
You're living the life!!!! I'm jealous
Where was this filmed? Beautiful and water is so clear
hawaii, he literally said it.
beatiful fish even the moreys !!!
Nice vid!! What GoPro settings do you use underwater?
My son (whose 10) watch your videos and we love them.
They sell Tuna blood meat and they are dirt cheap. I feel like they'd make great fish chum or just fish food.
♥️ i love the ocean.
That’s why reef fish go absolutely bonkers over Vienna sausages. They break up easily and the fish lose their minds.
“Maybe it’s because wild salmon isn’t really I thing in Hawaii”
Lol, brotha I know Hawaiians that didn’t trust salmon meat the first time they saw it
I'm a Hawaiian and my cousin is a salmon and they did NOT get along at first.
Awesome video.
fr, i'm glad i found this channel... missed good content on yt
Please do more videos :))
New baits... maybe on the future u can try freshwater fish. Keep it up, I loved it 🐠
After you mashed the fish, the first ones to quickly come around and start eating are damselfish (Pomacentridae), which are small-mouthed plankton feeders. After the second mashing, more small-mouthed feeders appeared--goatfish (Mullidae), butterfly fish (Chaetodontidae), surgeonfish (Acanthuridae). Not at all a surprising result.
moment of silence for the baby mooray eel
Some people apparently think a (potentially stolen) clip from this video is fake. Well, I don't want to dwell on that silliness any longer, gorgeous footage, I figured it was Hawaii. I'd love to go to Hawaii, really wanna go diving and interact with wild tropical fish, I only do it in the Mediterranean Sea
How tf is he pounding the fish so fast under water 😂😂😂😂
The sounds is amazing . You can hear pods in the distance talking to each other .
Excellent video quality, just found your channel but I was wondering how is your underwater rig constructed? you made a very high quality underwater video!
I'm pretty sure it's a GoPro in a diving case, but not 100%
@@the_inquisitive_inquisitor yeah i think you might be right due to the title being (gopro view). hahaha. but I was curious how he sets it up on the type of tripod of some sort.
i went on a night snorkel in belize a few years back. i was swimming along peacefully moving my flashlight back and forth until i pointed it way farther to my right and see this bright neon green swirl about 5 feet from my face. i knew there was an eel somewhere in the reef but had no idea i swam right into his little coral den. he was at least 6' long and did not appreciate me sneaking up on him like that. now knowing they're so blind freaks me out even more. some giant light source surprises him and he could've lashed out easily with those tiny little fangs and i was definitely within striking distance. at least i got a cool video?
This is a cool idea for a video, I'd watch a series where you go a little deeper every week or maybe try different types of meat.
so beautiful
🎵 When an eel is so blind,
That piece of fish,
It will not find,
That’s A Moray 🎶
He's not blind. That's Bert, he's just "Special"...
gorgeous video!! Would love to know what setting you used on your gopro!
good stuff, thx for posting, keep it up!
Hello man good videos keep it up
These videos are always great! The Wire that you used to hold the salmon in place was really effective. Is that something you bought? Or did you make it yourself?
It was something I bought from the store. It is a specialty sinker used for shoreline fishing.
@@aceunderwater very cool! It worked perfectly!
Sweet, cool moray.
fishes are suspicious for a good reason
Nice video!👍
Salmon are actually amazing fresh water swimmers, so naturally at the bottom of any water based terrain, it would swim. The only reason why it won’t swim now though is because it is in salt water
Well filets don’t swim…
Salmon literally live half their lives or more in the ocean though.
This is dumb comment should delete it
It seems like reef fish have adopted the opportunist tactic, where they will wait for a big kill and the attacking fish to rip apart it's kill then coming in scooping up the bits
Interesting 🤔, I wonder how fresh water act. Great video
This has been the most delightful thing I seen all year, keep up the good work and keep em coming please, could you perhaps find a bait that's irresistible 🙃
Very interesting! Man those fishies are gorgeous
I enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.
Salt water fish are so cool. Used to have a lightning maroon clownfish.
I have a Moray eel in a saltwater tank. About 2 feet long now. Their eye sight is TERRIBLE. But his sense of smell is supernatural. He can be in his cave, no visual, and a feeder fish swim by outside a foot away and he will rush out scenting around and actively chase the fish down that are hauling ass around. Absolutely mercs them. It's way cool to watch
That is so cool!
Those are some cool fish
It’s like having a aquarium at home
Fish are cats of the sea 😂
Looks beautiful 👌
I absolutely love these underwater vids!! Keep them coming!!
-it also surprises me -
*Brutally pounds fish
- ehm.. it also surprises me ...
You forgot to mention the BEAUTIFUL rectangulas triggers
The fish do not recognize store bought filets. Unnatural.
Smells like food, but who in the ocean would leave much that behind?
Plus it's just sitting there; a lot of fish will bite a lure, but you have to wiggle it just right.
Maybe the fish don't bit at first because they're making sure its safe.
Think about it, salmon are large predatory fish. Imagine if you were in the forest and you saw a fresh bear carcass lying on a trail. Even if you were starving, you wouldn't think, "ooh look someone left me lunch". You'd be like, "holy SHIT something here is big enough to kill a bear!!"
That's basically what the fish are thinking about the salmon
Nice vid.
It is interesting to see they only want small broken-up pieces.
Oh I can think of a thousand ideas for you -- how about minced meat? or blood? I don't know where you can get blood, or how you can inject it into the water slowly.
I'm more interested in the actual sounds the fish and sea life makes..clicks, squeaks, chatters..
Make videos about that..sounds under the ocean.
Best bait for the spiny lobsters we catch here in CA is salmon heads. Rock crab love it too.
