I have 2 daughters and you said that she said “I’m going to get a speeding ticket if you don’t fix it” 😂😂😂😂 that is gold right there 🙌🏽🇺🇸🇺🇸 they sure know how to get advantage of us 😂😂
just a tip - it works a lot better on the reinstall if you reconnect the horn and the airbag before placing the airbag part back into the wheel, then you're not fighting the clips nearly as much to get them back into their clips at the end.
Great video By the looks of how these switches were installed the steering had to be removed in order to remove the back cover which cover the screws that held the switches , do you agree
Thank you! As far as I remember, the easiest way was to just pull the wheel. I don't think you could get that back cover pushed back enough to get to those screws.
One last question, did your original switches have lights, meaning we’re they illuminated and did they eBay replacement have lights as well. Thanks. I know it’s been many years. Thanks again
Would it be possible to use this video to add the controls to the other side of the steering wheel controls then to be able to wire the rest to the radio harness 🤔
I saw a different video about that. Seems you would have to do some soldering and add a couple of extra wires. It looks like a pain in the ass if you’re not already acquainted with car wiring
Sorry, but no. I got that harness off of ebay back in 2018. Here is a similar listing: www.ebay.com/itm/394315885065?chn=ps&_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3A1O8hlAajbRguVjr9847ODCg33&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&mkscid=101&itemid=394315885065&targetid=1644837435243&device=m&mktype=pla_with_promotion&googleloc=9009988&poi=&campaignid=20125739985&mkgroupid=149128855676&rlsatarget=pla-1644837435243&abcId=9312975&merchantid=508423694&gclid=CjwKCAiAzc2tBhA6EiwArv-i6bzNowPfE_72bMdi3JnshiKvIXZhNkdstXZLacVAxbXqTT1k81FfSxoCEo8QAvD_BwE
Hi! Good video! Did you by any chance disassemble the Cruise button? I have the same problem, but I would not like to fork over $30 for a new button assembly, just buy the switch button module which is under the Cruise button.
No. I didn't take it apart. There could have been a tedious fix there that I would have cussed my way through so I shelled out the money. Thanks for watching!

where did u find a button assembly for $30, everywhere i look its about $100
Maybe? Even if you get that trim piece on the back loose, you couldn't take it off and there are still screws behind it you have to remove. I would just pull the wheel. Good luck!
I have a 2011 Honda Civic LX with cruise control buttons on the right side of the steering wheel, but no volume controls on the left side. I don't want to buy a whole new steering wheel just to get volume control. Would i be able to use the part shown in this video to add volume controls to my current steering wheel?
I had this issue with my 8th gen sedan, a quick temporary fix is to roll up a piece of paper, or use a toothpick or something similar to allow you wedge it into the cruise control button to keep it pushed in.
The only issue I have is that the paint on one button is worn off in a corner and another the paint very is warped and wrinkled. I know for sure you cant get the buttons out without taking the wheel off. Ive tried already when I blacked out my entire interior and removed the grey trim sanding itdown to black. But Im gonna buy some knock offs and try to install them since those little details are getting to me haha
My too does not have the audio control on the left side, did u ever replace your cruise control switch, I’m just thinking buy the same switch but just don’t use the audio side.
It is possible that the harness connection would be different if yours doesn't have the media controls, so I'd try to find the one for your setup. If memory serves, there were no lights on the steering wheel buttons. Just one on the on/off switch that is on the dash (which I always just left on in all my Hondas). Good Luck!
my civic's cruise button just manifested this issue over the weekend, ty for the video detailing how to get everything apart to swap it out!
Hope you get it working. Let us know how the repair went.
Thanks for watching and commenting!

Very Detailed Explanation Sir, Good Job
Thank you! I'm glad that you found the video to be helpful.
I've got an 07 Civic I love it navigation and sunroof power windows

After giving it some more thought , they did have back lights. They worked exactly like the OEMs. Hope that helps.
How much for these wheel buttons replaced. My 2009 Honda Civic Coupe LX cruise control works .
If you are asking about the part cost, Honda OEM is around $270 US. I purchased that chinese knock off for like $40.
My civic steering wheel dont have the audio control buttons. Is that possible to add?

Do the CH control suppose to work on aux?
It has been so long since I've used that car that I can't remember.
Do you have a link to the parts you bought?

It was a seller on eBay and it is not OEM. Still working so I got lucky.
Great video do you have Ebay link, and what is the part called, thks
Sorry, but it's been awhile since I did this one. Any of the online Honda parts stores have all the part numbers.
Thanks!
That's quite a lot of work for such a small thing...
A small thing that never broke on any of my other cars!
@@ktecgarage It's not broken on my civic at all, just worn out (especially those radio control buttons)
Would it be possible if i dont take steering wheel out? Cheers

About how long did this take you?
Now that I know how everything connects, I could probably do it in about an hour. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

I hear you. Little stuff like that bother me as well!
I just want the volume button cover. The button works. The VOL is just worn off. 😂
I have a 2010 honda civic(India), i dont have that audio control buttons on the steering wheel😂,just cruise control buttons
Honda ripping off it's Indian customers? 😉
I'm guessing the repair is the same regardless. Thanks for watching and commenting!
